  • I want this song! *first thought* "torrent?" heck no! im gonna order a copy from the website. they deserve the support

  • thats awsome

  • yeah, the sound of the fiddle is a bit louder, it's because the amplificator of the guitar, if he plays with an acoustic guitar could be better

  • Jack Sparrow's Tellin' Me That He Wants This As His Theme Song... XD

  • oh man, now i wanna learn the violin, I ONLY HAVE TWO HANDS!! so inspiring, wonderful, ear candy *wink*

  • reminds me a lot of Mike Oldfield

  • Man, this was fantastic.

  • this man is a god

  • Great video. She is loveable! I really like this rock w/ violin style.

  • is this what they play on "The Association: Boston Celtics?"

  • HOW! CAN ! YOU ! NOT ! LOVE! IT ?!@#?!?@#?

  • does anybody kno what kind of amp he is using??

  • @kulste11

    Sounds like a carvin.

my 2nd guess would be a Peavey.

  • 28 PERSONAS SON RETRASADAS MENTALES

  • de dode es es amigo???

  • very good!!!

  • why do i keep seeing people say nice Irian beat? what is Irian? Do you mean Iranian? Ionian? I search Google but find nowhere.

  • @drumbassguitar they aren't talking about modes like Dorian and Ionian...they're talkin bout the Celtic rhythmic beat that Steffen keeps in his song...like Irish beat :)

  • Lovely music! :-)

  • does any1 know what kind of gear does he use?

  • @vukdim some of it is on his website, but I know he uses a hi watt bulldog combo, a CAA OD100 with clean channel, on his record he used a matchless chieftain 40, he uses cornish pedals, carl martin compressor. Just some of the stuff I know he uses/used. but yeah there's a list on his site.

  • what a beautiful melody!!!!!

  • perfect song and irian beat

  • @MrMatan22 irian beat

  • steve vai at 1:25!

  • reminds me of mike oldfield. which is a good thing. mike oldfield is epic and so is this guy. merge the two of them and the planet would explode because it can't hold that much awesomeness.

  • Steffen is the best guitarist I've ever seen. Jane is awesome on violin. Wow!!! Unbelievable!

  • The girl playing violin turns me on

  • @mrgrunge77 you've obviously never been on pornhub

  • @iGoshiix or maybe you've been there 2 much >=D

  • puts me in mind of nikkis concert on chrono cross. A LOT

  • Steffen, I love you man, but you are hogging up the camera time here! Jane, let's make babies!

  • Simpl Epic, get it freaks...SUBJECTIVE,but you know if you had half a brain.

  • Thumbs up if you would love this song in a pirates of the carribean battlescene

  • whats the meter like? can someone help decode pls?

  • @kelvynyeang 7/4 i think

  • @kelvynyeang

Main part is 2 bars of 4/4 and 1 bar of 6/4

    (7/4 also technically works)

  • heavenly

  • yeah while he shreds on the guitar ima just sit over here and look pretty and fix my hair and sheet music and stuff, whatevs

  • two things i love to finger a smei-hollow body and a hot chick!

  • Beautiful,wonderful..really fine.Not more to say

I send you a big hug

  • missing the flute then it sounds like Jetro tull !!!

  • lol...this is my ringtone :p

  • @dominicluke WHERE DID YOU GET IT???!?!?

  • Fantastic stuff. But why do I come to think "Jethro Tull, Jethro Tull..." ??

  • Super music.

    Great guitar.

Worlds best looking and playing violin. (ist)

Hands up for both of you.

  • he and many others on the internet who play in similar styles would be so much more well known if they were playing this in the late 80s and early 90s. This kind of music is just considered a bit passe to commercial record labels and radio stations nowadays.

  • I just love this girl *-*

  • good music

  • Sounds like a Steve Morse Dixie Dregs influence. But I think the violin is too far back in the track. Sounds great though!

  • interesting colaboration, pretty sick

  • I wish Jane was a little louder. I'm wearing headphones and can still barley hear her.

  • fantastic guitar player. Like extremely few out there. I'd put him in the same mould as Satriani (my idol). Not the same techniques used but the same "feel" for melody. Fantastic stuff!

  • 2:46 is so freakin beast man

  • AMAZING...

  • 3:56 and up = awesomeness :3

  • rofl @ when she flips her pages so long

  • In my opinion one of Steffen's best tracks...

  • The entire time I was listening to this song, I couldn't help but think of Kansas and their masterpieces...

  • Josh Pruitt is a complete dork.!

  • 2:14 BEST

  • you can find it on his album titled "electriguitartistry"

  • That has to be one of the most unique tracks ive heard haha, i loved it!

  • Hi

I'm looking for a CD of this Duo.

    But can't find it.

    Some help, please!

    THX

  • @Geistertoehle it's probably on Steffens' CD. see the description

  • @MartaineJr THX. Found that out myselfe by buying his CD and suprise, it was on there.

  • words cannot describe

  • they are great (and the girl is also beautiful!) XD XD!!!

  • i wish the violin was a bit louder

  • @spacebrain44 i agree, but i know i have my speakers to blame.

  • I found steffen a couple of years ago, not to sound like stupid infomercial or something, but he really changed my way to see the musical world after all.

  • really damn,, :)

  • He kinda reminds me of Eric Johnson when I look at him.

  • For influences, how about Martin Lancelot Barre?

And that guitarist's sidekick, Ian Anderson, even, perhaps?

  • The unison of the guitar and Fiddle is beautiful.

  • It kinda feels irish..

  • God.... It's so well composed!!

  • very good.nice guitar played

  • exelente guitarrista steffen shackinger ^^ me encanta el estilo que tiene al tocar

  • Bravooooooooo

  • Whats it that time of month?

What the hell was that all about man?

Easy to run the mouth in the safety of your moms basement.

  • perfect..

  • he's got a melodic Vai thing workin for him too

  • i'd say chromaticism... lol You're absolutely right. City lights is beast, so is "On a rainy night" on his album, I can't wait til he records it.

  • i would bang his guitar, and the violinist.

  • they don't call 'em "F" holes for nothin'

    ;)

  • @labiasofjustice right.....

  • @labiasofjustice Haha yeeeaa, RIGHT ON BROTHER!

  • @labiasofjustice

That's slightly mean in a way, but I couldn't help agreeing with you.

  • Really? I can't hear even a little bit of Allan Holdsworth in his playing!

  • I agree,As I've said before I hear more Greg Howe,Satch,Vai in his music.Iv'e been listening to Holdsworth a very long time and maybe it's just me but hear nothing I could assosiate with Holdsworth in any of his music.Howe and Vai on the otherhand, definitely can hear them.

  • Sounds like DiMeiola way before Vai or the others

  • True,I have an artical where he listed his early influences and your right. They have all inspired Steffens playing at one point or another and DiMeiola was one,and some I've never heard of.But you hit that on the head.Though it does not say who his biggest influence was.I just hope he heels up soon and gives us some new amazing music.Steffen is no doubt the best under the radar player I've seen today.

  • I found it here it is,Vai,Satch,Zappa,Johnson,Holdsworth,Halen,Hendrix,Clapton,Morse,Back,

    G. Benson,Matheny,Gambale,R. Ford,

Bill Frisell,Albert Lee,Paco De Lucia,Mcloughin,Carlton,Bach,Paganini,Stravinsky,Sondheim, lol Alot, but he started on Violyn/piano and didnt pick up the guitar until he was 13,,,

  • Beck sorry.

  • This was the first time I had ever heard of Steffen. He is very good and it did remind me of Al Dimeiola right away.

  • yeah man,I can hear a bit of everyone through the different arrangements Stefen has created. He is fantastic and has a little something for everyone,it doesnt really matter what genre your into.Yet he still sounds 100% original.Only a handfull of guys I can say that about its that background that makes Steffen so amazing,I really hope he can give us some new music very soon. But I dont know how bad his injury was,or if he is back in the studeo already.

  • personally i wouldnt say he sounds like di meola. just because he uses a lot of palm muting doesn't make him al.

  • You go ahead and critique everyone. I listened with my own ears. I have 48 years of listening experience and have listened to many hours of DiMeola. To me he sounds like he was influenced by Al and guess what he even says it himself. Btw if you play a guitar, at some time you will use your palm, fingers, thumb, beer bottle, mic stand, amp, drum sticks or some other tool to play music. Or else you will just be another guitar player. No point in arguing it either.

  • @2FASTABMW4U Haha just because I disagree means I critique everyone? I even stated that it was my own personal opinion, not irrefutable fact. just because he was influenced by him doesn't mean he sounds like him. If you want to think that he sounds like Al Di Meola then that's fine, but i'm fairly certain that i have the right to state what i think. furthermore, i fail to see the relevance of the last part of your statement, aside from proving my point that palm muting doesn't make you al.

  • I'd like this guy a lot more if I saw him play with and actual band and not just a drum machine and over-dubbed music track accompanying his playing. it's cheesey.

  • @wileypayote

its not a drum machine. its recorded drums. the background music is all recorded. but yeah i agree with you :)

  • what guitar model is that?

  • Gibson ES335.

  • thanks

  • COOLEST GUITAR EVER!!!!!

For some reason I used to hate hollow bodies, But now I realize They are awesome!

  • a nice 1!!!

  • Steffen's Best yet!

  • cant get over watching this one.Such a catchy melody and awesome phrasing.Good one

  • I like that acsent

  • At 3:30 when it gets calmer it reminds me of songs from Phantom Brave for the PS2, love ya'h Steffen, pure talent and prowess along with fiddle virtuoso from Jane

  • excellent.. talent as good as it comes.

  • is this scottish? hes not.. but the song?

  • if this is his song, and he's not scottish, then you guess.

  • beautiful

  • this song sounds so Renaissance-y. Steffen's shirt fits in perfectly lol and his Gibson's like a modern lyre. Steffen is definitely talented and is not just set in one style as his songs show. kudos to him.

  • badass guitar playing

  • Buen dueto, y buen tema.

  • I have far more respect for Steffen. To me it's all about him. The girl is just talent behind him making him aound better. The violin is like the the rythme and prettyness behind it. It's just that the respect for the videos are about the guitar for him. It would be cool if it were the other way around, though. When they battle in other videos I love it. Still I mean ...ya know what I'm saying.

  • Stunning combination.Yes shes gorgous but her talent is much more >these two belong together

  • I love how for like 30seconds Steffen is totally rocking out and jane just looks bored as hell. Steffen you jerk quit showin off!

  • yeah, I think that's just part of the song, the mixing is wrong though, the violin is drowned.

  • Amazing =]

I can't help but think she was overshadowed by the guitar for a good space of this though. Could have done with more violin.

  • @brennan93 actually, more cowbell!

  • ... Ja pierdole ;] ... Niceeee

  • reminds me of somthing the band KANSAS did in the 70's... AWESOME!...im a Steve Morse fan too!

  • I'm not sure, but Steve played with Kansas, so in the 70's it is possible that the thing that you're thinking of was actually Steve Morse.

  • Steve Morse did play for Kansas..but that was after the 70's, he was with the Dixie Dregs then... toured with Kansas in 1985..

  • stevr morse played for kansas?

  • a while ago, in response to someone who said they need to go out on a tour, i said that not everyone can play live, and some ppl don't do well with crowds.

I've seen Jane perform, and i take that back completely.

  • muito bom

tanto a guitarra quanto o violino

    isso é que é sicronia

  • This reminds me of Chrono Cross. Good shit.

  • wow!!!this guy is awesome, everytime I listen to this track,i can't help but close my eyes and forget about everything...forget all the unpaid bills and stuff ^_^ ..wow,now that's what I call ART....i can..literally "feel" this track...

  • I feel you on that man.

  • she's beautiful...

  • Yeah, But if I was a girl I´d go for him!

  • As a huge fan of the Dixie Dregs who pioneered the violin / electric guitar combination, I'm happy to say I've found a worthy pair of successors.

  • beast absolute beast

  • Wow.

  • we all already know Steffen is pure genius on guitar, but that Jane saws a pretty mean fiddle.

  • She can play my fiddle any time

  • I'm diggin the fiddle chick haha.

  • Kick ass tune, I dont know reminds me of pirates XD and Steffen looks a bit like a pirate here XD

  • One sentence: "As close to perfect as music gets."

  • This is great stuff!

I especially love to see the joy in Jane Clark's face as she plays!

Anybody know who she is? Is she signed or doing other work solo, or as collaboration?

  • I hate it when people say guitar doesn't go with this or that instrument, trying to set rules and boundaries for music. I love this, it sounds Great!!

  • You are correct. there are no rules when it comes to music. A person can bang two rocks together with sound effects and make some tunes sound awesome I bet, if someone would just experiment with the rocks. Or how about shacking a tree limb rustling the leaves with special sound effects? Bet it would sound cool. no rules

  • Virtuosity.....

  • what????????????????????

  • What are you talking about?!?! Violin is awesome for this song!!!!

  • WOW!!! that is the best tone i have ever heard. all it needs is some skirt and wind action haha!!

  • a breath of fresh air with more vintage rooted tones.
