@Rystefn I don't know why you would pity me...if I'm wrong then it really does'nt matter. If I'm right..and Jesus really does live, and the bible is true, then there is much to consider.
I pity you because you're stupid enough to think that you made something resembling a convincing argument. You go on considering your bronze-age self-contradictory book. I'll consider the real world, thanks. It's bigger, older, more beautiful, and more wondrous than your tiny god leaves room for.
@Rystefn .Yeah....I can understand that. I've been trying to establish a link between cannabis use and the acceptance of evolution. It does seem that most young people are now turning away from Christianity in greater numbers. We know very little about the universe we live in so my question to people is why would Christianity seem delusional as say compared to anything else out there?
Well, I don't smoke, for what it's worth. Christianity seems delusional because it's based entirely on believing a book is true because the book in question says it's true. I call that about the same amount of delusional as any other religion, if it makes you feel any better.
@Rystefn ...We believe it to be true for a number of reasons but here is the question....how then did life start? Some people have told me that they think aliens dropped a seed pod billions of years ago. Yet they will tell me no way God could have created it..that's delusional. By the way the seed pod thing is L.Ron Hubbards idea..but he may have got it from Crowley and I know Ozzy was a big fan of Crowley...maybe that's how it got popular.
We don't know exactly how life started, so we may as well believe in an eternal, magical being which created it? I think not. Check my logic: in my religion, your God was created when Murglefurtz farted in the bathtub. Here is the question: Where did your god come from? I guess I must be right.
@Rystefn Yeah....AC/DC sang about that, but just because our minds can't understand God, does'nt nessesarily mean we were not created. I know a lot of folks prefer the accident idea...maybe because it gets them off the hook...with all that pesky commandment business. lol
Off the hook? You mean the complete absence of accountability because you can dump every bad that happens as the "will of god" and then ignore the wrong you do yourself because Jeebus will forgive you if you only believe?
Try to understand - I've never even heard of an atheist who is an atheist because want freedom the tyranny of your god. Atheists don't believe in your god at all. It' s not about what we would prefer to be true. It's about what is actually true.
@Rystefn ...I thought for a moment that you might be a diest rather than an athiest. We think society is heading down the wrong path, without any rules who is to say what is right and what is wrong? This kind of stuff leads to chaos.
There are rules, we simply believe that these rules are not handed down from on high. Neither do you, I'd wager... When's the last time you stoned a homosexual to death? Or a child who disobeyed his parents?
Why don't you look at the prison population, check out the ratio of Christians to atheists, and tell me again about religion giving people morals and ethics?
@Rystefn ...There is a big difference between the old testament and the new. The 10 Commandments were written in stone by God Himself. We as Christians are bound by the 10 Comandments as well as the testamony of Jesus. It would be very difficult to get into prison by following that. If not God..then who is qualified to make the rules for the human race?
Jesus said he didn't come to undo anything, didn't he? Oh, and the human race is qualified to make rules for the human race. See, why in the Hell should I follow the laws you say your god wrote in stone himself when there are billions of other people claiming their thousands of other gods gave thousands of other rules. What makes yours so special that I, who does not believe your god exists any more than leprechauns and fairies, should follow them?
@Rystefn All the laws for western civilisation for the past 1000 years are based exclusively on the 10 Commandments. Magna Carta etc. etc. Which one of the 10 Commandments don't you like?
Really? The Digital Millennium Copyright Act is based on the Ten Commandments? The Telecommunications Privacy Act of 1996? Smuggling laws? Tax laws? Firearms regulations? Show me a mention of a firearm in the Ten Commandments, and I'll give you a thousand dollar bill wrapped around the Hope diamond.
I don't like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, and 10... depending on how you count them. That's right, there are only 2 I agree with: No staling, and no murdering... and I can think of exceptions to both.
@Rystefn ..lol....What about bearing false witness against your niehbor? How about coveting someones wife?..If you were married , you might not want someone to steal her..would you?
Meh. Eyewitness testimony is the least reliable anyway. There shouldn't be a law about it because it should be disregarded most of the time anyway. As far coveting, who gives a shit if my neighbors would like to sleep with my wife? People can want whatever they like. See, if someone were to steal her, well, that's kidnapping, which isn't mentioned in your precious Ten Commandments, is it?
In 2012, approaching this great man's birthday again, they still deny it. We have no hope. They just really can't see what is right in front of them.

...I've seen some bad auto accidents...people cry out for God....but I never heard anyone cry out for DNA.

Is that actually supposed to be evidence for your god or something? Delusional people believe in him, so he must be real? I pity you. Really, I do.

It is also telling that both predate the Ten Commandments, so even they cannot be claimed to be taken from the Bible.
