Takes me back to England ,when it was England? I was 10 remember it on top of the pops, was happy then? now a manic depressive? Wish i could dive in the screen and go back to instant happiness?
England In The 50's, 60's, 70's & Some Of The 80's - Unbeatable (especially the 60's & 70's)!!!
Just Watched A "Discovery" Documentary About Steam Trains In The 50's & 60's The Black & White Pictures Of This Country And British Culture Brings Tears To Your Eyes!
superb fantastic vocals harmonies i bought this record in 1968 still got it ..bit worn but i still play it...a testiment to carl wayne who sadly isnt with us any longer r.i.p..carl
Great stuff, one of their last great records. After this they went for a less melodic, heavy metal kind of sound, which to me saw the end of great pop groups like this and the beginning of boring rock bands - long live the Move!
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.
Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
Roy Wood was the master of the 3 minute pop single ~ aimed squarely at the teenyboppers (junior high?) market.~ that's where the money was ~ very shrewd. Hit after hit. This got to number 3.Trev looks happier here than in the BW clip which was his last, but still likes 'pulling faces'. Love the old TOTP sets ~ stretched aluminium foil ~ the height of cool. Probably the same foil as seen in the Whiter Shade Of Pale clip!
I suppose I'm not educating anybody here by saying the presenter/DJ is founder member of Radio 1, Dave Cash, nowadays of BBC Radio Kent [I think], but he's heard all over the southern region of the UK.
That North American accent was acquired while working in Canada. He still has it.
Love the chorus falsetto harmonies a la Beach Boys but impersonating the siren of a fire engine. The Move were a good cult band in the US but considered top 40 and commercial in the UK back then. Years later, people realized what an underrated, superb band they were.
Now go away, before he taunts you a second time.

Briliant 60's British pop. If you can't tap your feet to this or bob your head, you must be dead!

At 1:33 it reminds me a little of the sort of thing Paul McCartney might compose and sing.

Two US stops, Fillmores East & West, I believe. Think the govt. banned them. As stated, "cult" band but FN great. Peace.

Very cool old-school TOTP performance. I only wished BBC kept the entire back catalogue from the 60s from being deleted,
