  • can you please tell me how to do this!

  • the fan iuse 800watts ist no rentable thing the duet

  • cool keep up the experimenting.

  • how you made the connections ?

  • how did you make this??

  • can you please tell me how to make one of this.

    thx.

  • please tell me how to make one of these =]

  • that blow dryer takes more energy than what the fan is putting out

  • You know, they already have something like this... It's called wind turbines!

  • NIIIIICE :)

  • any ideas on how to mount it~?

  • If you have alight up computer fan (with built in LED's) they will also light up by doing the same thing or moving the fan blades with compressed air, a strong vacuume at the right angle to the blades ect. It's a fun experiment for those that are curious, and is greatfor kids to help them visulize why the LED's light up. Cheers, IC. For the Mom with the daughter or for others this way would avoid you having to wire anything up thats may be too confusing to start. Cheers, IC.

  • could you please tell me how you built it

i need it for a science assignment and if you replied to me asap i would greatly appreciate it

  • you might as well have put a hand crank on it. the whole wind part of this is completely moot and useless

  • @knowledgemonger You won't weasel out of this one.

    .

"There is no way energy can be produced by motion of magnetic poles".

is what you posted. twist and turn like a weasel but it remains intact.

  • how did you put this together

    please respond

    :D

  • asker412 u piece of shit fucking shut up you cunt fucking little bastard lol go fuck yourself

  • I enjoyed it... makes me want to try it. Good job, 2 thumbs up :)

  • O.4 A?

  • when you spin a motor power comes out of the wires that would usually carry the load. It's that simple.

  • holey moley i am trying to make this for my physics class how did you get the power working did you use a dc generator or batteries or something???

    let me know please!!!!!!

    Aoura

  • Despite what everyone else says, I think it's great that you did this. Sure it won't power your house, but everyone should remember that you have to start somewhere. The first car engines were less than 10 hp, so just go out an build a larger scale project now. Call this one a "Proof of Concept".

  • hey this is neat can u tell me how this works so i can try it out for a school project

  • what is that like a 99.99999% loss

  • He have the fan the wrong way... if he want's to use more more energy for less RPM that's ok...

  • Bro... thats where the word "Experimental" come into mind.... lol... anyways, i found this a good idea. good job.

  • using more than 50 watts for hair dryer. receiving 1 watt =)

  • Yawn...

    ZZZZzzzzzzzzz.......

  • you should try doing something along the same lines, but with a prototype that's more similiar to modern structures used today

  • seriously how u make dis work jed cuz i tryin it na i have a project to do containing dis. an would reall like to kno d computer fan i have 3 wires red black an yellow how dat connectin to d L.E.D

  • Hi,

I'm building my own wind turbine and need to know more about what type of alternator to use. Baring in mind that I'm a student and poor, so if possible could you recommend a cheap alternator.

Would a solenoid work to generate a voltage?

    Thanks for any tips!

  • I'd like to know what you did to the fan to generate energy instead of use energy. I'd like to fool around with this.

  • He didn't do anything to it. Any DC motor will produce current if you spin it. If you give it DC it will spin, if you spin it it will produce DC. And by the way he was just using the dryer as a source of wind, if you put the fan in the wind it's the same thing, but it's free. That's how wind turbines work.

  • what is that thing called that converts the wind energy to light energy and do you know where i can get one.

  • Thats tooo Cool!

  • okey like really cool....but i tried to do it with the same materials but the L.E.D doesnt light is this cause the fan doesnt generate enought electricity to light it?

  • I'm making a small wind turbine for the roof of my car using a $5 radioshack 18v hobby motor and a model airplane propeller. At 20mph, I'm getting around 6 volts. I'm still experimenting though. I figure I can use the energy to charge batteries, run vehicle electronics, or even separate water into Hydrogen and oxygen to feed back into my engine's air intake to, in effect, boost the octane, which means WAY better mileage....if I can only fool the car's ICU.

    Again, experimentation continues...

  • sound like a good idea to powers stuff from a turbine on the roof, but remember conservation of energy. You cant get more energy out than you put in. If you put a turbine on the roof of your car, the energy required to turn that turbine will come directly from the petrol in your tank, so you are not going to get better mileage.

  • do you think its possible to have a shoe that compresses and uncompresses and that movement or something would give some sort of energy so you walk all the time and then you'd get energy from that for free...i don't know if that makes any sense or if im just imaginign things

  • i saw a show were they did that it charged a phone battery, pretty cool.

  • Very good idea indeed! 10 points!!!

  • u used more energy trying to power it than it gave you

  • experiment dumbass

  • Yes! thank you! Some people are so stupid.

  • my 12 year old daughter is doing a project on how a wind turbine works...she liked your idea but doesn't know how to hook up the parts...could you please tell her

  • you got email

  • @iselfdevi

can you please send me the process too? I need it for our research project. thanks :)

  • @iselfdevi Can i get an email too? =]

  • can you awnser this please

  • I for one was not aware you could make electricity in this manner. Thanks for sharing this with those of us who appreciate your efforts.

  • Almost any motor can become a generator (alternator) when turned by something- a really great source of these is the motors out of computer printers- a bit more difficult to wire up, but will give lots of volts with less RPM.

  • bkjeep yeah you are right, but he shows that a electric motor creates electricity which most of us know. but if he'd take off the shell and attatch longer rotors etc he may be on to some thing.

  • Kid where are you goimg with this? If this is your way of trying to be funny it didn't work. And if this is some brainstorm of yours you may need to change schools or perhaps start going to school , seriously ...

  • This comment was a total waste of your time. Sounds like you really hate your life. As stated, this is a simple experiment. In which ideas can and will be born from for many people. CHILL out you old man.

  • haha using more energy than its creating!!!

  • Ok. Maybe I should of actually used wind just to help people of your I.Q. to understand the point of this video. Seems like the air dryer is gettin more attention.

  • What people are trying to say is that you are using 1 kilowatt of hairdryer to produce 1 milliwatt of light. You are getting a millionth of the power out that you are putting in! Wind power of course is very intermittent and always disappoints in its output. That is why the oil companies and oil producing nations like it so much. Why do you think the price of oil is so high?

Wood chip power is the way to go.

  • wind power can be quite good actually. one turbine can power many homes!! problem is it has to really be offshore, and the price of the metal needed to build them has inconvienently gone through the roof!

  • The cost of building wind turbines is high and especially if you build them offshore! Think of the miles of cable that have to be laid to get the power to where it is needed! Check out the plans for the Port Talbot wood burning power station in South Wales (Byproducts ash, water vapour). Will power 75 percent of the domestic electricity needs of Wales.

    Renewable wood is carbon neutral.

  • wood is carbon neutral. But it might be hard to power the UK with it. There isnt the land to deliver the wood.

Perhapps if they GM a plant with special properties as a biofuel, then it might work.

Instead of building wind turbines at sea, they could build them at high coastal areas that frequently get battered by the wind.

The real ace for the UK would be tidal power. we have loads of coastline and tidal power could power most of the UK.

  • tu es un gay! merda pa ti puto! i used the blow dryer to simulate WIND. You stupid fuck.

  • A better design would be to hook up two LED in parallel, but opposite polarity, you don't need a rectifier, and you'll end up using the energy from both side of the waveform, I have tried this before, long ago, all you do tap the wires from the circuit board off of the Fan !as for hooking it up to an electric car, forget it, it produces more drag than energy ! besides, these things are old, look for "Micro turbines " it's the same concept.

  • Rick!!! You are a genius!!!

You could attach together a bunch of these as a tube and mount them to an electric car.

Although I wonder how much heat from the sun they can handle before they melt, all worth testing.
