Thank you for posting this, really, thank you! I actually, genuinely prefer this than the original. What an amazing cover, what an amazing voice, amazing man and talent!! :)
I made a video journal of a girl I work with, followed her home every day, for 3 months, I turn it into a 3m 40s clip with "creep" soundtrack, and told her it's a happy song. I lost my job and about to go to court next week, I just like to thank Tom Yorke and Co. for this happy song.
Wow, this is probably among the most covered songs by famous bands ever, along with "Proud Mary"...I bet if Elvis Presley had been alive when Radiohead had it big, I bet even the King himself would had done his own version of "Creep"!
you are all beatiful and perpect not like me!but i wish i can get adoctor to stop me flying high when im hearing this song.cos im beautiful at heart and soul even if im the most dirtiest people of all.
Too true mate, a covers only great if a band adds their own personal touch to a song, this is just an imitation cover which is well done but nothing on the original.
LMAO - I don't follow Radiohead covers, but this has to be about the easiest song in the world to cover. I would imagine there are plenty of "worthy" covers out there. Anyhow, Tom Yorke is such a dick that I don't even like listening to this much even though TFF is covering it.
@FavreianVengeance then why are you wasting your time commenting on this. let alone listening to it? also, easiest song in the world to cover? thats a pretty broad statement. it's not the difficulty of notes/chords etc, it's how true you can be to the original song, while still imparting your own style. i would suggest you go listen to songs that you actually like, rather than wasting your time complaining about why you don't like this one.
Oh for fuck's sake. "How true you can be to the original song." Could you sound any more yuppyish. And I'll feel free to comment regardless of how I feel about a song and I don't appreciate your minimizing it as "wasting my time." I don't comment like a mindless zombie. That's what Lady Gaga fans do, not real music devotees.
@FavreianVengeance hahaha all right dude. calm down. i was just confused as to why you'd bother commenting to me on a comment from 2 years ago, when you don't like the song. why watch, ya kno? it just seems silly. but i digress. to each their own. also, yuppyish? i bout choked on my blunt when i read that. no. just, no. although i do appreciate your liking of "mindless zombies" and gaga fans. cheers to that!
my friend was singing this song...and i was searching for it and i couldn't find version with so fucking amazing voice as my friend's is.but this one is the closest.so yeah.beautiful.:)
This cover kicks the originals ass! But, then again, nobody can touch Roland! He's so Fucking special! Perfect body, soul and voice! Bravo Roland! XOXOXO!!!
Dang Nocholas4sale, thanks for this clip, I love the original by Radiohead (way better in fact)and I like Tears For Fears so the sight of this clip in my inbox intrigued me. He should be saying "so fucking special" and the guitar that comes in around that part should be harder. But hey, they tried. The lead singer's talented, leave his teeth out of it! :)
was at this concert in 93 first concert without Curt remember this and Raoul for the first time(Elemental Tour) and having seen the on every tour anyway thinking yeah that voice is FUCKING special....hopes for more TFF SOON
never thought about it until i heard this version but you're right tarrded. a haunting song like this would make the hair on my arms stand up if dave gahan would cover it.
where's the video?who was the real singer of this song?btw ,it's sooooo nice ,i love the way roland sung it!he's so very special i wish a was special.prey!
If it's the bit im thinking of he say 'what the fek am i doing in the national exhibition center' :D .. and of course at the end he says 'and neither do you' :D
Yeah.. Radiohead were opening for TFF on this tour.. the Elemental tour... Roland paid tribute to a great song at the end of TFF's set.. a 'songwriter's song' as I remember him calling it...or something like that..
Sorta makes you wish you were special, huh? This was amazing...such a simple song, but it's almost impossible to make it bad. I really like the way both the vocals, and the second guitar get really intense, but the clean guitar absently plays the arpeggios the same way throughout...great.
I've waited years to hear this. It's PERFECT, and Roland's voice is absolutely beautiful. Eventhough Roland didn't write Creep (yet his rendition is so far beyond Radiohead's), there are very "few" people I see as extremely talented lyric/music composers that are CONSTANTLY CONSISTENT in their talent as Roland is. mkbadger, I agree .. Roland deserves sooo much more recognition, and I adore him.
I totally agree with everything you said. He will never receive the recognition he deserves.I would love to have seen him sing this. He is perfect in every way!! Genius!
from (ironically) one of Radiohead's biggest influences, a great cover!

I was expecting something very different. It sounds like the Radiohead version but crappier. I expected them to give a TFF trademark of some sort.

Best version, hmmm...
Best cover, nope even that - check out The Pretenders version. Emotional without being over-affected.
Sorry guys I think this one is awful. Muddy and full of vocals more affected with fake emotion than even Bono can manage.
Theladyragz 2 years ago
Best cover? Likely. Best version? No way. Radiohead's original is by far the best, ever. So much more emotion.
