Look, if you (readers) want to target shoot get a Ruger Mark 2 or 3. If you need a good small belly pistol get the B. . . 22A long rifle. Why would anyone put cheap rounds into a defensive weapon? Yes, the CCI Stinger gets it done. HPs expand a little on impact to the correct "material." Have the second mag ready. Remember to load the barrel round first so you do not risk a jam. Do it and it does it. Kicked . . - nice job again. stonenstrop
Would like your opinion. I purchased this weapon in .25 acp which, as you know, is center fire. I've heard that .22rim fire Beretta 21's tend to foul and FTF as well as FTE after long periods at the range. Would this be true of the center fire .25 as well? I don't get to shoot much and I'm sure your experience far exceeds mine; so, I thank you in advance for your response.
I used to have a jamming problem with this pistol until I switched to CCI Stingers, now no more misfires, yep you're right, needs a heavier .22lr load to cycle the action. Really like it. Also, smoothed out the bottom of the slide where it interfaces with the top of the hammer, and that helped, too.
never had any trouble keeping a 4 to 5 inch group at 25 yrds with this gun using the rem golden bullets..alot of people crap on little guns,, but when it's 100 degrees out and you have a ccw permit..it's better than nothing, and honestly, after shooting some into ballistic gel..check out the aquila 60 gr sss bullet...i wouldn't want to get hit by one..
I have commented on how great of a review this is before and just wanted to share a few new opinions on this piece. Many say that carrying around a 22 lr pistol is ineffective against attackers. I conceal carry this pistol everyday using the CCI Stingers (Thanks to this video) and practice head shots at 7 yards when at the range. Using this pistol like this is effective and deadly, but for body shots its worthless. This also has an advantage over the keltecs etc because of...
CONTINUED...it's safety that allows for the cocked and locked and its transfer from double to single action. With the poor sights that come on most mouse guns, that single action trigger makes a world of difference. After shooting a keltec and bobcat side by side, the difference is clear that the beretta is much more accurate. Now some of that is due to caliber difference but the double action on the keltecs rugers etc may cause problems. However to each his own and this is just my opinion.
if you're using this as a defensive gun- you really should use 60 gr aquila sss...there are no hollow points that will reliable expand out of this short barrel ..period..i've shot this pistol into gel alot - and no hollow points don't expand...sss round tumbles though...
Excellent review. I picked one of these up not too long ago and absolutely love it as far as the mouse guns go. EVERYBODY should have a .22lr pistol... or two, haha.
The only thing I would disagree w/ is your choice of defensive ammo. Just about any .22lr hp round you find will expand much too rapidly to really penetrate to any reasonable depth. Theyll create a larger surface wound, but wont hit vitals. RN rounds would be better for defense. I love the CCI MiniMag rn's.
Haha yeah your right I took it to the range about 4 times with cheap and premium ammo; non stop fail to feeds, fail to extract, stovepipes and it eats the shit out of ammo deforms the entire projectile. FORTUNATELY, I sold it for $25 more than I paid for it new and spent a little more and got a ruger lcp, so far about 50 round or so through and perfect performance.
i really like how your diverse on all guns not just rifles, hand guns, or shot guns. i think you did a great job with this review. i might pick up one of these. always looking forward to more reviews and vids!
I wish the one I had worked half as good as yours! I had so many issues with it I ended up trading it in and stepping up to a NAA Guardian! I miss that little "Bobcat" though I like how it feels in your hand compared to the Taurus PT-22. Great vid Mike!
Another good vid!! getting better and better, really professional! Ive been watching your videos for a long time - hope to see some more new ones soon. Will check back. and seriously, thanks for being "one of the guys" and not being a dry, stiff drill sargeant reading the website pages. Easier to watch than some of the other firearms reviews on the internet and your personal experience/pros/cons are why i watch these.
Hey kickedintheballs2000, what do you think about the Taurus PT22? I've heard this is the same gun made from the same tooling... It's about $100 cheaper with a lifetime warranty.
Well I did own a Taurus PT22 about 4 years ago and to tell you the truth I didn't care for it cause it liked to jam way to much , even after I tested many different types of ammo in it and the trigger is a Long hard double action only trigger which I simply did not like.
But to be fare it was a used Taurus PT22 , I also owned a PT25 which ended up jamming the same as the PT22.
Yes I know man I have done that test many , many times. I know it looks like my face is right over the fireare but its not , I'm really leaning back. This is why I do the test when on my knees , I can lean back more then say if I was standing up.
NO offence but what a waste of money unless you like toys.Sure it may get a DOA but how many rounds unless you get one behind the ear. The Burse thunder .380 is a much better back up or carry/conceal weapon that will do the job the first time and the Deluxe has the extended handle with a 9 shot mag and praice on mine was 277$ at Buds on the internet. handles well snd 95 grain will do the job.But to each his own.
Awesome vid as usual...really enjoy what you do...+1 on the A-Bomb intro. Think you could get your hands on a Kahr pm9? I'd love to see a review on that with a focus on defensive shooting. Thanks!
That is a great looking little pistol, a true pocket pistol. Like the Nickel finish. And the larger or appropriate size trigger guard. Nice to see they did not skimp here and made it quite usable. Thanks for the review. Jet over and out
I cant understand why a channel dont give you a contract as you can touch the middle shooter with your description. You are a truly shooter with a true love about guns and shooting sports.
the thing is i can watch your videos over and over but i cant watch tv series more than 10 mins. lol :)
Man your videos have come along way +10 I dont even like little guns like these, but it was a great vid, and, as always extremely informative! keep em comming.
Another quality video! While this is a weapon I would never buy I appreciate the time and effort you take to make an informative video. Once again, thanks!

I'd use CCI Mini Mag 40 grain FMJ's for defense. It has a better chance of tumbling causing the channel wound to be a bit larger....
