BTW all of Naussica's soundrack is called Naussica's symphonic poem. I'ts all the same song, but split up into 3 movements and some 15 parts.

I see alot of people giving credit to Hayao Miyazaki, but this soundtrack/symphony suite has nothing to do with him...

A great deal of the Ghibli movies are composed by one great artist, Joe Hisaishi. THIS is the man you should be thanking for all the wonderful music.

This is from the symphony suite album, not the soundtrack album. If anyone had watched the film itself then those with good ears will notice that the actual soundtrack is different in a number of places (including the "bird person" theme that plays when Lord Yupa enters the valley has a different ending) and also many background music missing from the albums (e.g. Nausicaa walking thru toxic jungle at the beginning, windmill castle at dawn, etc).

Today the plane I was on flew past a typhoon and for a while the turbulence was so bad I thought it would crash. As people started panicking, I thought back on my life but what filled me instead was the music at 2:10. A sense of tranquility washed over me and I was ready for the journey into the forest in my heart. But luckily it didn't come to that. Thank you Studio Ghibli, for all the wonders you have shown me, and especially to Hayao Miyazaki for the manga.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind was based on an original Manga by Miyazaki printed in a Japanese Anime magazine. Just some info there for you folks that might be interested.

Yes, but the original comic, (Which is also written by Miyzaki, and is about 6 times longer than the movie and 5 times as good), is not really appropriate. should be read at around 14-20 years old.
