I've flown the DC-9, but for exciting engine sounds, I'll always remember

my years flying the Convair 440. Even the RR Darts of the Convair 640

@michelarjuna, This buzzing sound have large engines too. It comes from the large fan. Older engines have lower bypass ratio and therfore smaller fans and better sound.

I LOVED to listen to the "old" 747 engines spool up on the Chinese cargo plane. Just when they get to a pitch that seems as high as an engine can go the pilot punches it and they go on up into the "dog hearing" range! Then the roar hits you and you can't hear them screaming as well.

@inarockstar1 - You must be home schooled. You should try getting out more. Sometimes clouds move fast. (Even low level clouds like those can be moving at 40-50 knots, no problem.)

PART 2 Comment - I'm going back 2 Austin 2 find job opportunities, but I want 2 do the same u did as a "motivational" thing 2 remind me of my goal. I don't want to get caught. How did u film this when the stewardesses go up & down the aisles w/ the cart or serving the other passengers beverages, etc. w/out them knowing? I have a Canon FS30. Any suggestions? They say 2 "turn off electronics" when u land & when the plane taxiis on the runway, but I want 2 film this too.

Wow! Cool! This reminds me when I went to Austin from DFW 2 yrs. ago. I heard this engine sound too. There is Nothing like seeing the land below & the horizon during the climb & after. Coming from NYC I'm always amazed of how this land (TX & other non-urban states) spreads out. - PART 1 Comment
