  • @chevsterful what country do you live in

  • GUYS!!! I'm a long boarder and I just discovered the fun in this thing and I am now planning to get a mountain board and popularize it here in my country. would it be a bit easier for me to learn Mountain boarding with my long boarding experience?

  • Nice :)

  • How can i gain speed without a hill or something?

  • @MrShmoupy slipping your foot out and pushing just like a skateboard

  • So much harder than it looks.

  • have u ever snapped a board in half?

  • The end is cool :P :D :)...!!! Nice vid...!!!

  • is going down a ramp on a mountain board the same as going down a ramp on skateboard because i have tried ramps on my skate board and fell off but with a mountain board i thought you would have more control and balance

  • @09multikatie im shit at skate boarding but when I started mountain boarding the whole feeling of goin over ramps is different with the right board ul feel more stable and have more control

  • How on earth do you stay still and nice ending bit!

  • lovely... but i still cannot stay on the nose , really hard

  • is it true, that skate shoes help a lot while mountainboarding? (seems stupid to me...) :P

  • 1:19..censored xD..nice tutorial..

  • Hey love the vid and think it'd be awesome If you could make a tutorial on jumping and spins. I tried my first 360 spin the other day and got the full rotation but landed on my back tire fell back and ate it.

  • i just got my alex brown pro 6 lol wooooo

  • nice intro song :D

  • can u make a video on how to stop i am new to mountain boarding but i have snowboarded for 5 years

  • My tires say 30 psi, can i still do nose manuals

  • yeah... as long as they're hard

  • u freak!

  • nice one dude (Y)

    5*

im an ex skateboarder but i own a pritty crappy atv board its designed to be a kite board but im better on it than i am with a kite, i can nose manual easy but im still just getting the board round on the nose pivet to 180* :) ill have it soon :)

btw any board you can advise me getting? probably about £200-500

  • a comp 95

    or second hand comp 16.

    bothe made by mbs.

  • can you do same on leon pro model?)))

  • You can do nose manuals on any board once you learn the basics.

  • how often do you wear out tires

  • once or twice a year

  • hey thatks you are really a whole lot of help i was trying really hard to do that trick i could not pull it off you are the best will you be my boyfriend

  • hahaha i love that bit at the end..if you fall, make it look like u were ment to do it!!thats great an..cheers of the tips!

  • any tips on how to land bs 720s ?

  • hello all.. i've just started my adventure with mountainboarding... i would like to know dude how u make it that ur feet dont slip out from the bindings.. i need some advices couse im biiigggg newbie :X [im snowboarding like 3 seasons] it would be nice if some1 can help me be talking on msn :X its first_knightyXhotmailxcom

  • well check out my bindings tutorial, and read up on the DirtBoard Riders Forum. The Dirtstar Army has a section just for beginners.

  • ive watched all your vids and i do as they say, they are great but the only problem is when i go try to keep my balance on the nose i always fall to the side what advise do you have for that.

  • What kind of bindings are those?

  • F3s with no heal strap

  • Thanks.

I'll look into who makes the F3s and how they are designed (My board had side clips (they are like a curved bracket) and I'm thinking of using some of my windsurfer foot straps (with a bit of adaptation).

I sure hope Mountain Boarding catches on in the U.S. - so far I haven't found anyone who rides in our area. I'd like to find a group that does shred sessions (and likes to help beginners learn)

  • MBS makes the bindings, Where do you live?

Also Checkout Ground Industries, MBS, One Five Media, and Dirtboard Riders at Yuku, type any of that into google and you will get some great info.

  • I live over on the Kitsap Peninsula on the West Side of Puget Sound between Tacoma and Bremerton (Olalla, which most people have never heard of).

Thanks again... I'll google some of those.

My 11 yr old son and I have Sand Diego Speed (SDS) boards with skate trucks and the bindins that are sort of a hook shape that holds the outside edge of the foot - have to push feet apart to keep the board gripped. Not a bad design, but I'd wanna try foot straps.

I'd like to make some channel trucks someday

  • Yo nice riding man. Jon can you tell me what your tire psi is? I have mine at around 35-40 but i i dont see your tires squishing like mine do, i have an mbs core 95.

  • I run at 60 psi all the time and In a skatepark I have been known to pump it up to 80psi. Be careful because the tire could pop off the hub, or if you have plastic hubs they will warp and then break.

  • yes i made that mistake, it cost me like 100 bucks :(

  • nice, thats all i have to say

  • that was a nose manual, and this is a nose manual from far away, love the voice mate, as if you dont care at all lol

  • yeah I just listened to it, I guess I should have been louder and more excited, but really I do think nose manuals are cool and worth being excited about, I swear.

  • OH....... haha. i cannot do those at all. in soft grass only. on road the board always comes out cause i have such a hard time getting up on the nose to start with. not cool at all..... geez...

  • u are realy good, thanks for the advice m8

  • good video will help alot of newbs out promote the sport. remember you from curtis's spot ?mayb with j sever?

  • lol

i get a stiff lower body

  • love the end part

  • realy awesome!!! cool

  • i don't mean to be picky or annoying like alot of users and it's probably sme sort of americanism that im unaware of but i just have to say it.

It's centre of gravity not mass

  • In physics, the center of mass of a system of particles is a specific point at which, for many purposes, the system's mass behaves as if it were concentrated. In the case of a rigid body, the position of its center of mass is fixed in relation to the object (but not necessarily in contact with it). In the context of an entirely uniform gravitational field, the center of mass is often called the center of gravity — the point where gravity can be said to act.

  • say that again in english!!!

(joke its just i didnt understand it try nd make it a bit like idiot proof so pple like me can understand it!)

  • ha ha you been told

  • hey

    what board do you ride?

  • Right now a dirty Leafe

  • nice, mate. never seen it done without heelstraps, and never seen it done like that.

    i wanna go try now.

  • jon im really wondering are backflips really hard because i really want to try one

  • When you have the right jump I think that they are easier than a solid 360. But that is after you learn how to do them. The problem is if you mess up during a backflip you could die or loose your legs.

  • wat about the hand brakes they look like a

    wast of money???

  • True that. you would be amazed the size of a hill you can control without a brake. but if you dont have room to turn and you aren't doing free style it might be worth while.

  • o i have another ? can u moutain board on sand

    or just dirt and gravil

  • it depends on how hard the sand is and how flat you make your tires. It wouldn't be good for your bearings and you wont have alot of speed, unless you are kiteboarding.

  • i snowboard and realy want to moutain board

i want to buy a one thats not to much money

but i dont want peice of crap ether can u help

  • I wouldnt buy anything lower than a Core 95 for $299

  • Yeah the Core95 are really good, I have one but only use it for BoarderX. For more harder terrain and steeper hills I use my Trampa Sik StikII. Check out my vid Anglesea BoarderX and you will see the Core95. Realy good boards for the price..

  • The Core95 is a really great board. I own one but I mostly only use is for my BoarderX. For other types of riding I use my Trampa SikStik, Check out my Anglesea vid and u will see what the Core95 is capable of. I see the Jeremy Leafe in that vid, they are an awesome board JD, ive been tossing up between that or the Leon for my next board..

  • I like the leon for larger jumps because you just feel more solid, but the leafe is a fun little board.

  • could you do a tutorial on spins or backflips?

  • i can nose manual on my face for that long lol

  • iv been practising nose control last few days, i can nose manual a few metres

i jsut cant pop out of it, lke you do... i supose practice

  • Awesome, yeah just practice, but i am glad yoru getting better.

  • oh yeh.. your video is inspiring.. got 2weeks of hols to practice.. il soon be beter

  • jon do u think u could make a tutorial on spins and more advanced tricks (nice vid)

  • It is possible. Maybe in a few weeks I will start making one on either Jumps or Spins, most likley jumps first

  • cool thanx im having trouble with fs 3s i can get bs 3s but not fs 3s its really annoying

  • you should definitely make some more tutorial vids just like think about whatever you can do then do vids like this one it would be alot of help

  • Let Me Know what you want. I had one person recomend Jumps like Ollies and nollies, but i need more people to back that topic before i make it for reasons i cant define.

  • very nice - the stally thing looks fun, im going to try that now

  • does this tip work the same with snowboarding???

  • Yes 99.909% of the time.

  • I love it! can you please make another tutorial!?

  • Let me know what you want to know and if enough people want to know it I will make it.

  • Can you make one about jumping, how to start a jump what to do in the air (maybe a part about some tricks) and how to make a nice and clean landing like should i lend forward or backward.

  • hi jon im nicolas from patagonia argentina

i really love your tuto, i have a conflcit 106 for GI./(what do you think about this board? i a little disapointed,,)

its posiblE to do a tutorial maybe ,,how to jump?

    thanks in advance

  • That is a good idea. If a few more people want to know then it sounds like a plan.

  • I'd like to see some tutorials about jumping too, have a hard time landing my tricks right and i'd like to know how to actually do some tricks

  • There was a message that instead of hitting reply I hit remove. The response to the question is that I wont be doing a backflip tutorial because the personal liability is to high. Flips are the one tutorial I will leave to some one else unless they do it incorrectly.

  • hey could you do a spinning in the air (as in explaining frontside and backside) and how to do you find you do them

  • Nooo i didn't mean backflips or things like that :P

  • im looking for starting mountainboarding and i thought you could help.

what company do you think is better ground industries or mbs. i think i want to get the comp 95. is it nice

  • I like MBS better, but Ground insustries looks cooler. MBS has the best trucks on the market making it the best board company.

  • how much did your board cost

  • it has about $700 of product on it.

  • hahaha love the ending..

sick, i want to try mountainboarding. looks awesome.

  • i just got my nose pivot 360s down, thanks jon. but i still cant master the nose manual. i either dont lift up the tail far enough or over do it. maybe im still a bit short?:(

  • i look forward to the next

  • Cool.. I go outside to practice !

  • You know how to give a good tutorial!

    Decent!

  • "huge part in nose control" was an exaggeration as well =)

  • ? i guess so, i thought it would be different for how much you have to lean over the board, cos boards like the dirty leaf have really shallow kicks so your at a a different level with the wheels, but your probably right the tutorial does help for me its just having ridden a MBS board then my Flight Lite they feel so different.

  • man i like the tutorial, but i think you need to take into account people with different degree kicks eg: ground industry boards, i think the degree of the kicks plays a huge part in nose control and so forth. never the less, good job =)

  • All the tutorial talks about is center of mass and different tricks that can be done once you know how to control your nose. By fully utilizing this tutorial a rider can adapt to different boards with different nose and tail angles easily

  • awesome Jon, nice and clear instructions, your board control is as good as ever. Holler 05 was a while back, don't suppose you'll be over in the Uk at all anytime soon? Tom H

  • I hope in the next two years

  • nice video. ive just seen the first trailer for the onefive video. looks really good

  • lol

It seems funny, maybe I will buy a mtboard *o*

    tHx

  • that has got to be the best tutorial vid ever, sick moves man. wat preasure do you have your tyres at? mine are at 50psi and the board keeps slippin out lol

  • normally around 80psi, but i am the exception to the rule.

  • Wicked, lovin that butter near the end :D

Deffo gettin out in my drive and bolting that shazwang rite this minute!

  • beauty. you find it easier with a shorter board like the dirty leafe?

  • It is about the same. The only reason the Leafe is easier is because your feet are closer to the wheels. But you can do it really well on anyboard.

Good to hear from you again Jeff.

  • thanks man, your vids helped me a lot!

    cheers

  • great vid

  • Thanks!

    This will help me alot.

  • You're a bear! Thanks.

  • yay! my request has been listened to! rad vid jon, big fan of ur vids. 5*

  • nice vid Jon. You make it look easy!

  • jon, this is awesome. most instructive and useful how-to ive seen for ages. the centre of mass thing is really clever.

  • Excellent ! Fantastic job Jon, mad props !
