  • I think you're pulling it the wrong way. You apply against the hair growth and remove the sugar IN the direction of the hair growth.

  • I tried it and it's wonderful, but it takes too much to epilate my legs! i love that it makes my legs so smooth, but honestly, with the electric epilator it takes only 30 minutes, with this wax over 4 hours! do i do anything wrong? i'm not a beginner in waxing! Thank you for the video :)

  • i made it at home a couple of times but it seems to go hard too quickly, i followed the steps of kneading the caramel, but each time i do it, it goes harder and harder, and also i doesn't stick to my legs!!!! lol

    anyone help please! =D thanks

  • That didn't look painful at all

anyways,i love the video, and two questions :

do we to apply the powder before sugaring?

do we have to add the lemon juice?

    thnx :)

  • This is the Persian method which is very similar to the Egyptian method just more refined. It has been used for thousands of years throughout Egypt and the Middle East. Enjoy! =D

  • -Recipe for Permanent Hair Removal-

    Ingredients:

-> 2 Cups of White Sugar

    -> 3 Tablespoons of Water

-> 3 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice

    Procedure:

    01) Mix the ingredients together in a pot and place the pot on the stove

    02) Turn the heat on high and heat the mixture quickly to a temperature of 121'C, use a candy thermometer and make sure the colour resemles clear honey

  • 03) Turn the heat off and remove the pot from the stove

    04) Pour the mixture into a suitable container with a big enough opening to allow you hand to reach in and let it cool

    05) Once cooled warm the mixture by placing your container in hot water and prepare yourself

    06) If your hair is longer than a centimeter use clippers and trim it to about a centimeter, it will make spreading the sugar much easier and less painful, but don't strip it too short

  • 07) Take a shower to clean your body and rid it of any dirt, hair and debris, use soap and scrub your body nice and clean

    08) Now the mixture is pliable, remove a piece your comfortable handling

    09) Vigorously knead, stretch and pull the piece until you get an opaque creamy colour, usually after a minute or two, if you notice the piece is stiff wet your fingers lightly and continue

  • 10) Once you have the right consistency, which is creamy in colour with a light stickiness to it and it feels warm to the touch almost like soft toffee or bubble gum, it is ready for use

    11) To keep the mixture from sticking to your hands work it into a ball with the tips of your fingers, not your palms, don't force the piece, be gentle with finesse, almost as if your stroking someone under the chin with your fingers strumming inwards with your thumb running across them

  • 12) Spread the mixture against the hair growth 2-3 times to push the mixture into your follicles

    13) Claw your fingers as if making a fist and flick your wrist down with the hair growth, if you don't get the whole strip just push the mixture back a bit and flick again until all is removed

    14) Your fingers will get sticky and this is a sticky job so don’t worry, the key is to keep going and don’t stop, don’t let the mixture sit too long on your skin as your body heat will warm it up

  • 15) You need to apply, apply, apply, flick, flick, flick, and repeat, if pieces get stuck roll the piece across them quickly to lift them up or smack it against the area to pick up those bits and pieces

    16) As the piece collects hair it gets uglier and uglier and more and more wet and sticky, just keep going until you are able to handle it no more and it loses its ability to hold and becomes gooey and mushy and wont flick into nice sheets anymore

  • 17) At this point just discard the piece, wash your hands with warm water, as it is water soluble and begin with a new piece

    18) Once you are done with an area rinse the area with warm water first to remove any remaining sugar and then splash it with cold water to close and tighten the pores

    19) Do not use soaps or detergents along with lotions or deodorants on the areas you sugar and do not expose them to sun for at least 24 hours

  • 20) You will get bruising in certain areas, it looks cool, you can brag that you fought someone and did something brave, and you will love the way your skin feels and looks

    21) The pain is minimal, it is much less than waxing with strips and because you use the sugar paste itself to remove the hair and you pull with the hair growth it just gives a tiny stinging sensation as opposed to wax which actually rips off the top layer of your skin

  • 22) It is totally worth it, it doesn't remove your skin as the sugar only sticks to the hair and the added benefit is the sugar paste exfoliates your skin and removes all dead skin cells along with blackheads, and any crap that doesn’t belong on your skin

  • 23) To prevent any hair from re-growing soak some lupin (Lupinus Termis) seeds in water for 6 hours

    24) Remove the seeds, take the leftover water, put in a spray bottle and store it in the fridge

    25) Spray and rub this solution daily onto your skin for 3 weeks after hair removal

  • so it doesn't matter which way you pull it?

  • Its not "ORIENTAL" it is an ancient hair removal method used by ARAB WOMEN! it is mor effective than using the wax strips because htis method takes the hair from the root and makes ur skin glowing and shiny!

  • @markee871 Yes and it is a simple recipe, sugar.... great ancestral Arabic idea... =)

  • Hello ma name is lala and i am from denmark .. I have tried to make this recipe at home . the org. one . : sugar, lemon juice and water. ! but how do i make it into a ball? and later aply it on the skin without using the strips? Please i hope u can help? i am so poor to buy it this months , i just want it fast and quix:)

and thanks for posting a great video . much luv from dk

  • @MrsNewBooti

    Hello Lala.

I think your sugar paste is too liquid to use it as a ball. You have to boil out excess water. Next time you cook it just switch off your stove, when you think sugar paste is ready and keep it on the stove for a while so that the water evaporates. When it cools down completely, it will be possible to knead it into ball. Keep trying!

  • @MrsNewBooti well you make it cool for a while and then when its not too hot, just form it into a ball. Thats how i do it anyway

  • @MrsNewBooti

ehm .. you can buy at Grønthandler, you know.. Arabic shop.. They are ready and good as well.. cost like 25-30 kr.. :)

  • Coucou , sa fait mal ?

  • This is making me hungry........caramel yumm

  • Y'en a vraiment à carrefour?

    Mille mercis

  • ou puis je acheter ce produit au Canada? En peut tu l'acheter a travers de l'internet?

    je vit au NB.

  • @KherbieL

they sell it online, follow the link in description, then go to "vente en ligne". Good luck! Oui, tu peux acheter en ligne. Bonne chance!

  • @wakarukai

Merci.

  • @sunnshiiinne

Ah oui?

  • Oriental Wax Visit Helen at Casa Spa Edgware road Branch.

  • Where can I buy this product? And for how much? I'll be leaving for Paris soon and I'd like to know if I can buy it there somewhere--such a large city, I think it should be possible! Anyone know?

  • Check out Carrefour and Tati. 3.20 -3.70 € - 200 g

  • @augustsounds it's called surgaring.

  • Does anyone know where I can buy this in the US? Or make it? I'm intrigued. Thanks!

  • watch redfootwalking videos on how to make it yourself 'nina prepares sugar'

  • how do you llike the epilator

  • I made it once myself, but I found it too messy, so I got an electrical epilator instead.

  • what's an electrical epilator? How do you like it so far? thanks in advance

  • Yeah I like it especially for my arms because it doesnt hurt too much but legs hurts quite abit but after a epilations, it wont hurt much, dont ever ever ever shave your legs after epilation, it'll grow back extra thick. Hope it helped.

  • it is not called sugar waxing.. sugar waxing is like waxing but with a sugar paste.. that also uses strips

this is called sugaring... most ppl confuse this technique.. :)

  • This paste is also sugar waxing. In France we call that oriental waxing, because this technique is used since hundreds of year in west oriental cultures.

The only difference between this dough, and the one for which you need strips is the amount of lemon juice inside!

  • its called sugar waxing

  • Can anyone translate it to English? :(

  • 1 take the sugar with well dried figers

2 knead a little of the caramel until making it very soft

    3. Apply to the part you need to remove hair

    5. pull very quickly

    6. If the dough is glued to the skin, just take a niew piece of dough and apply without previous kneading

    7. If the sugar doen't stick enough on the skin, you must melt it with drops of water, and knead for a long time

8 if the sugar is to hard, put it on the microwave for few seconds. Be carefull to not burn yourself

    8

  • thank you so much!

  • @alouette888 I can't knead it to the white consistency - it keeps sticking too much to my fingers and I can't pull it in ribbons like she does. It seems as if it doesn't stick to her skin. What should I do? Should I use powder on my fingers before pulling out the wax so it doesn't stick that much?? Please help. Thanks.

  • @ibtehajshahid

Your sugar paste is too liquid and you won't be able to use it in such long ribbons as in video. Use smaller pieces of sugar paste and change them often or boil out excess water. If you can't find the right texture you may use corn starch or talc. However stickiness is all about excessive water. See my advice given to Lala.

  • @wakarukai Thank you very much!! :) Your advice was much appreciated and helpful, and the process works. Water indeed makes it too sticky. Thanks again.
