Size also isn't much of a problem because they can hide models and decrease the number of polies used by the terrain at a great distance and also have a farclip to make far views not be a difference. Wow has stylish graphics but lousy character and item graphics. For very detailed character and item graphics look at Lord of the rings online. Wow does have probally the best environment graphics becausae they are seamless, pleasant and interesting.

Honestly NCsoft kind of sucks with updating, it took them awhile to actually add more quests and better experience gain because it was such a grind, guess what it's still a grind..people that don't have HIGH END computers can't play fortress sieges which is one of the major things in the game. @Jaffell yeah - they've updated alot of graphics. Water, lava, sun, and models in overall. But trees? nooo, they are too lazy for that and still use the same trees they used say, back in 2004?
Even a free graphics engine with a random tree generator can output better looking trees.
I wouldn't want WoW to even CONSIDER changing graphics. They've hit the right spot, it's cartoony but not looney, if you catch my drift. I would surely like to see some further polishing or revamping of some models, but they need to stay true to the original.
Wrath of the Lich King realese: Same config, 25 man raids a bit to lagy.. even below 15FPS! (max detals but without shaders) allmost not plaeyable.. especially when Icecrown Citadel Patch was launched. Its funny.. because graphics allmost didnt changed compered to Classic WoW..
Now i have new computer with i5 760 + 4GB DDR3 1600 + GTX460 1GB Msi Cyclone, and now i can at least play with everything maxed. Its overkill for this game.. but i will be not suprised if Cataclysm will be lag on this;/
@Xantis2006 that setup will be fine for cata. the reason you got more lag after WotLK is because they implemented high resolution character models and armor textures with the 3.2 patch (Tournament Grounds). I have a GTX 480 with a quad-core and 4gb ddr2 and I get 40-50 FPS on Champions Online, which is probably close to one of the most graphic heavy MMOs out there.

@MrApplehead321 No offense but wotlk had the shortest lifespan in blizzard's catalogue. there was no challenge, no ballance and it destroyed one of the greatest characters in Warcraft, Arthas.

WoW is for non-skilled players. If you want an MMORPG that really requires skill, try Guild Wars. And btw, WoW graphics still suck.

I am currently running the beta on a GTS 450 and got the beta in DX 11 and I cannot see my character's reflection in water but I can see the surrounding enviroment reflections, anyone else have this problem or know why this is happening? This video card is right up there with the nvidia gtx's.

I wonder - the water in my wow doesn't look so good like in this video, can it have something to do with the graphic card? Is better graphic cards just for the game to go smoother or does it change the view also? cus i got my graphic on ultra PS my graphic card is like 3 years old now.

Why do you think that "The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time" was voted "Best game of All-Time" & then proceeded to hold the title for over 11yrs? It wasn't because of the graphics, it was because of the overall effect it had on the gaming community, it was a great game that had an amazing storyline. Anyone who doesn't play it because of it's 1998 graphics is really missing out on an amazing game.

@johnpond69 You've obviously retarded or the place you got your information is retarded, The Legend of Zelda series has never EVER been a RPG it's always been an Action Adventure, Eitherway It was voted "Bestgame of all time" by a majority of players as well as, IGN, Gamespot, Gamestop & Gamespy.
Please research your information before saying something, on all the sites mentioned above Fallout 3, is outranking Oblivion & Morrowind not by much, but it still outranks them in the RPG category.

@Saliva555 Actually, Zelda OoT was outranked "Best game of all-time" about a month ago, Currently Super Mario Galaxy2 holds that spot. I agree SMG2 does deserves that spot, it is quite enjoyable. Miyamoto is a great game designer, no wonder his games are always at the top.

@Malkuno Oblivion or Morrowind is easily debatable as being the best RPG. I've spent more hours on Oblivion then I have with all other RPGs combined, so surely in my mind that's the best RPG.

@heyufool1 Yeah, I gotta say I love both of them & I'm really hoping for an Elderscrolls 5 at some point. Right now I've clocked 18days 15hrs "played" time.
I'm just saying if you look at the ranking charts on IGN & other big gaming sites, fallout3 is currently surpassing Morrowind & Oblivion, but only by a little bit..

@Jaffell yeah - they've updated alot of graphics. Water, lava, sun, and models in overall. But trees? nooo, they are too lazy for that and still use the same trees they used say, back in 2004?
Even a free graphics engine with a random tree generator can output better looking trees.

I wouldn't want WoW to even CONSIDER changing graphics. They've hit the right spot, it's cartoony but not looney, if you catch my drift. I would surely like to see some further polishing or revamping of some models, but they need to stay true to the original.

Wrath of the Lich King realese: Same config, 25 man raids a bit to lagy.. even below 15FPS! (max detals but without shaders) allmost not plaeyable.. especially when Icecrown Citadel Patch was launched. Its funny.. because graphics allmost didnt changed compered to Classic WoW..
Now i have new computer with i5 760 + 4GB DDR3 1600 + GTX460 1GB Msi Cyclone, and now i can at least play with everything maxed. Its overkill for this game.. but i will be not suprised if Cataclysm will be lag on this;/

@Xantis2006 that setup will be fine for cata. the reason you got more lag after WotLK is because they implemented high resolution character models and armor textures with the 3.2 patch (Tournament Grounds). I have a GTX 480 with a quad-core and 4gb ddr2 and I get 40-50 FPS on Champions Online, which is probably close to one of the most graphic heavy MMOs out there.
