If Hyundai can get to where its at, so can Mazda. Mazda I think will always remain a niche brand, but it can do so profitably without Ford. I'm a fan of Ford, but I look forward to cars like the Tribute and 6 evolve into more original Mazda designs.
So much for trying to go green, huh? Camaro,Mustang, and Challenger outsell all the hybrids put together? People just don't want to sacrifice performance for gas mileage! And after watching commercials for the Lexus CT200 and thinking it's fast,YEAH RIGHT!!
As of yesterday Gas in our area came down 40 CENTS a gallon from $4.05 for regular unleaded to $3.65. Yesterdays drop was a whopping 10 CENTS OVER NIGHT. And the 6 cyl. Version of the Camaro and the Mustangs get damn good hwy MPG and not to bad in the city either.
@sahmedme In my opinion, someone might buy the Toyota FT-86 when it comes out, the Honda Civic Si sedan when that comes out, the Nissan 370z, the Hyundai Genesis coupe, and maybe the Kia Optima SX. Those are good options for performance driving while getting good gas mileage and being practical, except the 370z and Genesis coupe in a practical sense.
There is just no real passion for or in Hybrids. Other than the assumed green credentials and somewhat higher F/econ, relative to Cost-benefit calculations, of a Hybrid, there is no real cause to truly desire one. I would think if other automakers figure this out and exploit it, a potent sport hybrid that didn't cost a fortune for example, then you'll see much stronger Hybrid sales across a much broader assortment of models for more makers.
@DocWolph Hybrids are still expensive to make. It's just one of those things where it sounds awesome in concept but in the real world it fails at its expectations.
I dont understand why doesn't ford buy out more of mazda or vice versa

John, aren't the Mustang, Camaro and Challenger technically 'pony' cars? Great show, even though i did not win the first round of the lutz giveawaay!

One thing that might slow down car sells in china is grid lock- in a lot of cities bicycles are faster to get from point A to point B

John, what cars from Toyota, Honda or Nissan you think customers would buy in place of Camaro, Mustang or Charger?

Hybrids SUCK! No fun to look at or drive. Muscle Cars look and perform great. Good job to the buying public. Long live the muscle car!
