  • Ed Ames and The Brothers Four do this song justice, too....however, this is very good.....

  • so calm and soothing..love it..thankyou:)

  • Beautiful song. Almost got me to tear up, and that never happens. Especially with music.

  • I am in the September of my life and this song always causes me to reflect on the months that have passed, and those fewer still ahead. While my life has been good, it could have been better. Like so many others, I have wasted too much time, worried too much, not loved enough. I must make the most of the time I have left. As Whittier said, " For all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these "it might have been"."

  • Every time i watch Law and Order i half expected to hear Jerry Orbach breaking into song and sing "try to remember"- i don't think it ever happened and of course now it never will. Although this is a very good version, i would have loved to have seen "The Fantasitcs" which i think was at the time the longest running off-broadway show.

  • @verbenco There are still revivals of "The Fantastiks". It's well worth seeing, as romantic and simple as this song, with some delightfully funny bits in it.

  • @absue Good to know the play is still being performed and presumably these performances are attended by younger people who have never seen it.

  • great song to dance the waltz to

  • Try to #remember the kind of September when life was slow and oh, so mellow...

  • I grew up listening to this song, as someone in my family had the record or used to sing the song.

I remember it from when I was little.

  • Even Conservatives like myself appriciate this theme. We whant nothing more than everyone growing thru there our efforts, to the level they wish to grow.......Songs like this help us all to relax and decide how far we wish to go with our lives.

  • Thanks for this beautifull post

  • Three people don't want to remember.

  • I remember this song somehow from my gradeschool days. Much had to change after thus era, but life was never as mellow. Still we push and push to rush faster. I can't ever understand why.

    beautiful song.

  • With the seasons all seemingly not quite as structured as they were when I was a child, when we could actually expect the leaves, beginning to change by mid-september, it was like being able to set your clock by the changing from summer to fall, unlike so many recent years, but I will always remember that "Kind of September," and will 'follow,' those memories, the rest of my life.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • Beautiful!!

  • One of the best versions of this song.

  • Beautiful music and harmony - beautiful imagery!

  • Esta canción me trae recuerdos de mi infancia, mi Padre compró este disco en una venta de garage en San Miguel de Allende y lo tocaba en un gigantesco tocadiscos, eran tiempos difíciles pero FELICES. Gracias por ésta música.

  • I liked this song when I was in my 20s but now, as a 60 yr old man, it speaks to me in ways I never would have understood before. Fantastic lyrics, wonderfully performed! Thanks for putting to such a beautiful visual presentation.

  • @BobFromMich

    You are so right!

Bob From Ohio 63 next month.

  • always put an ache in my heart listening to..

  • Your very lovely video scenery is a wonderful match for this favorite song. Thanks so much!

  • To Bluejay--Here's the second verse:

"Try to remember when life was so tender That no one wept except the willow; Try to remember when life was so tender That dreams were kept beside your pillow; Try to remember when life was so tender And love was an ember about to billow; Try to remember, and if you remember, then follow.."

  • versione dolcissima grazie

  • this is the song that they listened in Silence ^_^

  • @redbabydevil09 i love the movie Silence! ^.^

  • awesome :)

  • Hi!!! ^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^

  • We are doing this song in choir but I really need to listen to the second verse too. Do you think you can put the second verse in?

Try to remember when life was so tender

That no one wept except the willow.

That's only a part of the second verse. By the way, the song is great!!!!

  • I love it! One of my favorite Sandpiper songs.

  • This is such a co-incidence! I woke up singing this song for no apparent reason this morning, not having heard it for years... and then I come on here and you've just posted it!! Thank you so much for the lovely song and fab scenery.
