@joshster89 All Austrian 767-300 are former Lauda aircraft. Lauda Air now only operates one 737-800. All other Lauda aircraft have been repainted into Austrian Airlines colorscheme.
Vref and Vapp ( approach) speeds, have wholly different meanings than V1 or Vr. although, often, in many aircraft, those actual speed values can be somewhat close to each other. example:
say in a boeing 737, for a given Max Ramp and Takeoff Weight, and ambient temperature, a common V1 figure might be appx. 134 kts. conversely, and again, for given Temp/landing Weight, with Flaps 35 or 40, Vapp might be 135-139 kts. so, yes, the actual "Speeds" can be close, but meanings, different
generally, upon intercepting an ILS signal ( in an airliner of this sort ie; 767, 737, 777, etc...) you are joining an IAF ( initial approach fix) which would be situated out from the aerodrome somewhere ( 15-20 miles?) and which is also depicted on the Published Approach Plate, FOR that approach to the aerodrome's Rwy. throughout this phase, and until about reaching the FAF (final approach fix- 5-7 miles out) we can remain in AT. but i would say inside the FAF, we'd be disconnecting
How could i fly in the cockpit? you know anyone of the crew or they let you get in? do you think i could get in the cockpit if i'll ask it on my next fly?
The disengagement of the autopilot occurs on minute 4:14. There is no aural wailer because they push the autopilot disconnect button twice on the yoke. That bypass the A/P DISC message and aural.
@aaf12.Hi,I've a question for you.How they(the crew) let you make a video of the landing,if the crew say the rules(when the flight start),and one of the rules is:Turn Of The Video Cameras during the Take Off and Landing. So,how they let you make a video of the landing?PS:My english is not good, becuse I'm french, but I hope you have understand what I've writed.Thank's!
Filming on board is not a big problem. It´s a measure of precaution to forbid it. In the meantime there are even some airlines allowing it again. It´s the same with cellphones in hospitals. It´s officially not allowed to use one. But every doctor has an active pager and/or a cellphone with him/her. It is not dangerous to use modern cameras on board. I think that´s why the flightcrew allowed to film the landing.
comming into the cockpit was a single event. I work not for this company but with friends it was possible (before some stronger restrictions went active).
before 9-11, Airline employees were allowed to fly jumpseat. Now its only limited to Aircraft dispatchers, Pilots (any major airline) and I believe Mechanics
This was a ILS landing on runway 5, and the callsign was launda 108, 129.90 is the ground radio, they went on to taxiway C5, to gate 5. (Youy can hear the atc and the instruments, i know all of them and what they do :P and im only 14.
Actually they landed 06L exited on C3. Ground 121.9. Then taxied Delta, Alpha, then most likely Romeo across 15L/33R then on Echo to Echo-Yankee to the Infeild Terminal.. Gate 529.
why does the 767 not show the airspeed on the PFD?

This is probably an Austrian 767-300. Lauda doesn't service Toronto.

joshster89, this aircraft belongs to Lauda Air, but is operated in this video by Austrian Airlines (father airline for Lauda).

Ryanair is correct, you can usually get a jump seat if you know the pilot. I do this on AZ every few months.

Is that minimum landing is the equivalent of V1 at takeoff?

when ILS landing, do i have to leave the autothrottle activated or i have to manage the airspeed manually?

awesome video! but I wonder why there's no aural tone when the autothrottle and autopilot were disengaged??
dragon877 2 years ago 2
you are right, there was no signal from autopilot disengagment...strange?!
aaf12 2 years ago
could have been a full autoland?
jesuistahmid 2 years ago
nvm, they were probably doing it manually.
jesuistahmid 2 years ago
no, the standard procedure for austrian airlines is to put the A/P off at 1000ft...
aaf12 2 years ago
@jesuistahmid no, it couldn't. Only the captain is aloud to be Pilot Flying during an Autoland( or CAT IIIa procedure).
MercedesKawasaki 9 months ago
@aaf12 because the pilot pressed autopilot disangagement button on his yoke twice very fast. In such cases there is no an aural signal. Look at 4:12

@dragon877 when you press the AP and AT disarm buttons twice very fast there is no any aural callout.
