D.S Lewis in his book Illusions of Grandeur would agree also. He suggests Mosley's anti-Semitism was more of a front, used for recruiting purposes, which Mosley was forced to do by dwindling membership. It's probably likely that Mosley was in practice anti-immigrant, but possibly not anti-Jewish in the way the left would like to think.

Great men like this make history. Mosley was a vile piece of slime hiding behind the British flag while all the time sucking up to the countries enemies. Seeking to turn his bully boys loose against defenceless people and stir hatred against them while the authorities stood back and did nothing. Jews and Communists attacked the police after following a legal political demonstration. They did this because Mosley was opposed to dragging the United Kingdom into a war with Germany (in which 90 million, mostly working-class people would eventually die). Why wouldn't he be opposed to a war which had nothing to do with us and ultimately cost the British Empire? Pefectly normal and patriotic. Even members of the Conservative Party, not bought by tribal gold, were opposed to sending off our forefathers to be killed for no reason. What an inspirational man. A beautifully made, powerful film, telling an important story. They should play this kind of thing to all school kids all over the UK. My old man was also in the Battle of Cable STreet, as a completely unpoliticised working class English-Jew - proud to be English (was in the Royal Navy in WWII), proud to be Jewish, proud to be an Eastender.
Hard to believe there are still those too ignorant to accept the truths that lay behind this story.

If a group of Islamic fascists were marching down my street and breaking the law by inciting violence towards me or making threats then i would expect the Police to enforce the law that makes this behaviour illegal! If a pervert set up a legal stall outside of a school then i would expect the Police to protect him from the anger,however morally justified,of the public! D.S Lewis in his book Illusions of Grandeur would agree also. He suggests Mosley's anti-Semitism was more of a front, used for recruiting purposes, which Mosley was forced to do by dwindling membership. It's probably likely that Mosley was in practice anti-immigrant, but possibly not anti-Jewish in the way the left would like to think.
