I was singing this song by Indonesian version while hear their singing in English. I am Indonesian bdw. What a wonderful opportunity if every nation in this earth can get together and sing by their own language.
There is an audible "hum" in the background, very evident at the beginning, in softer passages, and after the end, otherwise, it was fucking gorgeous.
Despite the fact that this song is burned in my head forever from singing it at EVERY christmas in EVERY choir I've ever been in....I still love it!!! One of my favorite pieces to do!
It never tires if you pray and praise as your sing it. It is said that Handel felt that he saw all of Heaven and its Angels as he composed this. I know that I feel that way as I sing it. Amen!
my school plays this song every year. band and chorus combined. im in the symphonic band and i have to say it is an amazing piece to play. although the baritone part is very hard. I love it
And 4 people think that's a bad thing to say. I'm a baritone, and love belting this one out. If any hymn or paean of praise can make a singer kick ass, it's Haendel's Hallelujah!
ignorants!" Well, I must say that _ignorant_ is an ironic term to use considering that he changed his name from Georg Friedrich Händel to George Frideric Handel and became a citizen of England 1726, yet composed the _Messiah_ in 1741.
This is a nice interpretation of a very famous Handel work - they performed it better than the Auckland Philharmonic and Auckland choir did that's for sure!
They just needed to slow it down a bit, it felt a bit hurried in places. =)

I love this piece. So beautiful. I would say it's hard to learn but it's kind of not...then again I am in the bass section so I have no really high notes. Still fun though. :D.
I remember when my church sang this when I was younger. I have never heard them sing it again. It brings me to tears even as I type this. Such grace and beauty! I am a singer myself and this song is just fantastic. This recording speaks for itself, Infinity/5!!!!!
My choir class sang this and I enjoyed every second of it. Our hard work sincerely paid off and so did the hard work of these people performing. Congrats :D
it's my deam as a singer to preform the whole messiah with a choirr someday. My mom does this piece every year with her choirr fo Christmas. It's beautiful. Thanks for recording and posting =]
This is absolutely beautiful. I am blessed to hear these voices bringing glory to God. Truly I am thankful that God has blessed man with the ability to sing

i totally agreee! i have been brought up as a catholic but i believe in buddha. But i don't have anything against other religions and this is a truly great piece of music
Zeldovich and laceyloola, I agree with you both. See watch?v=md-ws6knYkE one of the best Hallelujahs on YouTube, by a Chinese choir in Hong-Kong on 24 Dec 2006. Big family audience, obviously far from entirely christian, stand up and warmly applauses.
In same great ligue IMO with this one, that I love (I know well St-JB de Grenelle, I lived for a couple years 300m from there)
I sang this for two Christmas's back in college and it's one of the most moving songs I've ever sung, it was sometimes hard to contain my enthusiasm and control my tone. Watch the fellow (bass?) in the top row, middle, he's really into it and this is a wonderful version. Merry Christmas, everyone !!.
All of you commenting you are going to do this in a high school production number- good for you! You will have so much fun...but you are not going to sound near as good as this, SORRY!
we are singing this in my choir class... and we totally rock. lol, we only have 4 guys, but they are still really amazing! we went around the halls in our school singing this... it was crazy/amazing.
