Another thing is difference in religion. Religious intolerance is a more powerful result to war than anything else. Roman emperors should have also included freedom of religion and build a more better future for the Roman people.
@CoreyStudios2000 Roman Emperor inclued freedom of religion! Except with Judaism... Jews or more less persecuted aswell as Christians becuase they woulnt integrated apart from that you had full religion freedom from Isis worship to "old classic roman" goods more linked to the greek ones to zoroastrism mitra sol invictus etc even budism as i hear xD
There is a reason why Rome expanded, and its not just because of wealth, assassination, invasion, or thirst for more land, but also because of their dream for peace they seek. But after PAX ROMANA, a group of more corruptive and more evil emperors had took that dream away and replaced it with greed and cruelty, the real reason why Rome fell. If only that peace lasted longer by a more wise group of emperors.
Yes I agree Rome needed more men like Augustus, Claudius, Vespasian, Titus, Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninius pius, and Marcus Auerlius. to rule the empire in it's darkest times. it did not need men like Caligula, Nero, Domitian, Commodus, Heligobalus, Maximinus Thrax.
You ought to learn about Rome before you criticize. Like today, Rome had corrupt immoral leaders, but it survived -thrived- on the genius and industry of it's ordinary people.

It was especially Arabs they were talking about because they thought every word coming out of their mouth sounded like Mbaba. It had nothing to do with being a Roman Citizen 8-900 years later..
Actually the Greeks usaed the word "Barbarian" to refer to the Celts and Germans (and Romans until they defeated Phyrrus) because all of thier words supposedly sounded like "bar bar bar". The Arabs really have nothing to do with anything until Islam showed up.

arabiancow, the fact is that barbarians didn't NEED to raise their standards of living; they were doing perfectly fine on their own. Sure, they didn't build grand public monuments as the Romans did, but they nevertheless had a highly sophisticated society and culture. For example, on certain issues, they were remarkably tolerant: for example, barbarian women had many more rights than Roman women.

There were many different groups of barbarians from many different parts of Europe and Asia. Not all of them were around at the time of the fall of Rome, and not all of them contributed to her downfall.
The Celts of Western Europe, for example, were clearly distinct from the Goths of Eastern Europe or the Huns of the steppes. To lump them together is a very Roman-centric view.
Barbarian was simply a term used for non-citizens of Rome, it had nothing to do with the way they lived ect. There were many super powers through the ages, and all we either loved or hated, depending on which side of the fense you stood. One could argue that Rome's fall was internal rather then external, sure outside forces fought and took back parts of Europe, but this was part that the empie was too big to manage, and the constant internal fight for power, or for getting lazy.

Historically speaking, he is right. The barbarian invasions did end the western part of the empire, while the east (byzantine empire) prospered.
Thought the barbarians only wanted to live like romans, and it was the romans who lost it all to them. And the invasion by the Huns did not help either.
@albinolubu The Huns were defeated the Germanic not. Well i guess the victory of "rome" over the huns was pretty a victory of the Germanic that were the main cause of it most soldiers in Chalons were Germanic and you even Germanics in Hun side that after Attila death revolted and had great battle smilar to Chalons and it was end for the Hunnic Empire so Roman Victory of Germanic Victory?
This guy, Brasidas seems to have studied history through a lens called Protochronism. At least his comments are suggesting it. This theory or I should rather say hypothesis was developed by cultural activist of the Romanian Communist Party during the late 60s and 70s, during the time of Nicolae Ceausescu. According to this theory the ancient inhabitants of Romania, the Dacians, were superior good people who were destroyed by the blood thirsty and savage Romans.
That way of looking at history automatically equated everything that was Roman as being bad, oppressive, even evil, everything that was Dacian as being good, even wonderful.
Ironically for this theory, today's Romanian's considered themselves not only descendents of the Dacians but also of Roman colonists that came after Dacia's conquest by Rome
The Romans had a perfect world a paradise were eweryone would be happy.A true world that the gods wanted. There were some great people like CEAZAR MARK ANTONY OCTAVIAN HAIL ROME .
But unfortunatly that was only a dream , because of those aristrocrats.
When Caeser was murdered Antonio did not know where the people of Rome stood. fighting the traitors then would have been suicide.
And Antonio was a general not a politician, so his disagreements with Octavian are of an ambitious young kid and a warrior who only cares about having a good time.
Caesar didn't have male children, so he had to choose his heir between the children of his female cousins or nephews. The candidates were three, Anthony, Decimus Brutus and Gaius Octavius. He chose the younger, so Anthony got further and Decimus Brutus (he is not Junius Brutus) participated at the murdered.
Awesome video and music but how can you say such thing about Anthony?! He was a traitor. He fought with Caesar arm to arm in hundreds battles and was his friend but when Julius was murdered he did nothing to punish Brutus and his company. He was able to do that because army of Lepidus was near Rome but he chose the side of murderers. Ave Caesar. Ave Octavian. Cry For A Dream
Antony and Cleopatra merged forces to protect Egypt. Egypt never really fought against the other nations, they just kept with their own business during that time.
Octavian really wanted the throne so he kept on Rome's "good side" but, he killed Ceasarion, Ceasar's son. Took Cleopatra's other children, and murdered Antony's other innocent children.
Rome was a very chaotic place then, you should'nt give one-sided conclusions or judgements on people..
I miss this show :[ But there would be no point of a thrid season- but I think if they would have ended season two with the death of brutus and cassius and went into like the realtonship beweteen antony and octivian they could have done three seasons. and maybe expanded more on certain things, like antony and cleopatra's realtonship. anyways....
Historically there is no point in a third series,Augustus becomes emperor, decades of relative peace ensue. The civil wars ended with Anthony`s death,so unless you want to see Pullo whoring and slaying gangsters ad nauseum what`s the point? It was a great show though and i have the dvd of series one and will buy the second when it comes out.

I really want a continuation... There are also a lot of great emperors in the Roman Kingdom, after the Roman Republic which was the period of the story...
Nicely done. Its funny, I made a Marc Antony vid called "Leader of Men" and you and I had the same opening with the "This is how history is made". lol. Great editors think alike. :) Nicely done!!
unfortunately, this is the way the world is. people promise 1 thing, but in return they do something else. The late roman republc is a primeexample of it.
i guess they just dont see the human aspect behind their actions. I must admit i have been coached into the same state at times, though i still look back at those below and show some remorse.
Though the good news is that there are people who strive to change that. They are few, but they try. Look at my old video above. It gives contrast between those who fight for power and those for humanity.
I have a question, are you accusing people or institutes or politicians who do not keep their promises for being wrong ? Or you are saying that war is wrong/bad/imoral ? Withch of theese 2 ? Please respond
War is an important part of life. But like with anything else of such importance, war must be used for the right reasons.
as for your question, i am accusing people/institutes/politicians who do not keep their promises for being wrong. frankly, anyone who abuses their power should reconsder what it is that they do. But as I said before, we all do it on some level and that this is part of human exsitance, though we should reflect on our actions from time to time.
ya well you're on you're own on that one. in my case asking me why i actually like to see cry i mean im not a freak about but im intersted. and it might because well heres another weird thing. ive never felt anything. ive never loved and because of that i dont know what its like to be loved.. like if youve felt anger you would never know that there are many
causes or you never understand what it is. i can only guess that being angrey is like 3 levels above frustraion or more. ill never know :) this might not make much sense cause its 4 am and im tired but make of it what you will
Okay, okay enough already. After all it's already past by. We are now at the presence. Thinking about painful past just going to hurt you even more. so enough.
Didn't I said enough already? Maybe we should stop. We have an opinion on our own. There is no point fighting for it. If we keep on going like this, we will repeating history over and over again. It means if we keep going to say about justice and stuff, this talking back forth will never end.
well the only way we can anylyze a situation is to talk about it. Otherwise we will never know what anyone thinks and then we will just do what this video talks about.
If history was made by emos.

i guess they just dont see the human aspect behind their actions. I must admit i have been coached into the same state at times, though i still look back at those below and show some remorse.
Though the good news is that there are people who strive to change that. They are few, but they try. Look at my old video above. It gives contrast between those who fight for power and those for humanity.

I guess the world is balance. Thank you for your words.
The world is give and take, my sister said. I appreciate all the word you said. I thank you.

Okay, okay enough already. After all it's already past by. We are now at the presence. Thinking about painful past just going to hurt you even more. so enough.

history is every to able to look back and understand and gain new insight. you do not value these things?
revalution789 4 years ago
Historically speaking we mankind has always made the same mistakes over and over again. Again, it is in our nature to do these things.
