Stephen, regarding the gray batches of colloidal silver you've been getting: it has to be the distilled water you're using. There are some brands of distilled water that are of very poor quality. Try a different brand, and make sure it says "steam distilled." I'm sure a different brand will solve the problem. Usually Wal-Mart brand distilled water is pretty good. But here in NV I recently had to switch from Wal-mart brand to Sparkletts brand due to the same problem.
The oxidization on the positive rod can be gently rubbed off using a common green 3M scrubby pad found in any grocery store. I briefly shut off my machine every three hours, clean the positive rod and then begin again until the full 12 hours is met.The gallon size is convenient for my large family, or dog, hot tub and laundry. I also began making a vegetable and fruit wash to remove residual pesticides.

@disspartan I've used Wal-Mart brand distilled water and i usually find it in the pharmacy area as that is the only water used by humidifiers. I've also used grocery store brand distilled and they've worked just fine...remember, a dim to non-existent green light means you're brewing a perfect batch.
Hey Steve: Question:
I thought it was .9999 that was the best and not .999
Am I wrong? Thanks

Is your water boiling in the jars? Is that better than cold water batches for PPM?
