I think the family DID experience things in that house and that the house was/is haunted!, but i also think that after getting caught up in the media whirlwind and after getting greedy they made up about 90% of the stuff they said had happened!

@florencelovme - It is unfortunate that the parapsychologist featured smiled when he described hearing of Jan Anson's death, but let's not forget that Anson himself was callous and calculating when he penned the book that was going to make him rich (I don't think I could bring myself to make money from such a revolting crime as the Defeo homicides). He also disparaged others' work (on the grounds that they weren't millionaires, apparently) and seems to have been a very supercilious man.

Dont know if this house is haunted or not but i have encountered haunted houses before, and i got to say, most of the time its pretty benign, hell, my great grandmother haunted my grandmother's attic and all she did was waft about the place leaving the smell of peppermint and maybe a fuzzy outline (peppermint candies were her favorite)

I think the family DID experience things in that house and that the house was/is haunted!, but i also think that after getting caught up in the media whirlwind and after getting greedy they made up about 90% of the stuff they said had happened!
I believe in ghosts 100%, but it's obvious that some of the details the family gave and wrote in the book were exaggerated or made up!

Plus how could the house not be haunted with the horrible thing that happened there. Plus if the house really was on an indian burial ground no wonder there were issues. My mom always told me you don't mess with cemetarys or anything like that because the spirits can't rest if you do because you have disturbed them.
