well its simply the way of the world, supply and demand. tv bosses dont like risk so they keep with what they know and like ideas that have been copied from success stories. now and again you get geniuses like chris morris who go out on their own and make brass eye, the day today and are innovative
ok let me explain again- the new type of comedy is either a situation comedy minus the canned laughter, like royle family, the office etc or a spoof like look around you and time trumpet. the very few comedy programmes which get commissioned which do not fall into either of these catergories will fail. enough said
That sounds suspiciously like comedy dichomoty you've lifted from some channel 4 documentary or comedy connections show. I must say comedy has seemingly much more liberty with commission than other genres, look at 15 Storeys High, Harry Hill's TV burp, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Summer Heights High, all completely disparate in style. You've omitted the IT Crowd which has canned laughter and got two series. The phrase 'enough said' is like having "I'm an obdurate arsehole", tattooed to your arse.
no i actually wrote it out of my own head would you believe? tv burp and nmtbc are comedy but nothing like sitcoms are they? and yes there are still sitcoms with canned laughter but not as many as say ten years ago. and enough said was meant to close the stupid argument youre making you arsewipe
I thought I'd already pointed out that anouncing your departure with 'enough said' doesn't close the argument on both parties. That said it's more of a debate when it's literal, simply the usage of expletives does not constitute what I consider an argument. Also Armando Ianucci who's responsible for this show co-wrote the Day Today with Chris Morris, who is not solely responsible for those innovative programmes. Comedy is about progression anyway, the erosion of canned laughter does not...
signify the decline of innovation, it is merely a device used by TV networks to include the viewer. Comedy is transient and the shows that will stand the test of time will be fresh and unique, not the replete ersatz that BBC3 commission which flounder that you bemoan. Also your current comedy opinion only myopically includes english output. There's a wealth of great American comedy shows like Mr Show, Arrested Development, The Colbert Report and Weeds. Shop around before you open your bile hole.
yes well the subject was british comedy, as that is where comedy starts and ends and did i mention the decline of innovation? if you read what i originally put i said that is the latest trend. you can use all the big words you want but at the end of the day youre not even referring to what i wrote about
This all actually happened but we were all to drunk to remember it.
