exactly...they are not as privileged in this matter as the demonstrators in India where you can push the limits of decibel to any extent by using any number of huge speakers in full blast. I think this is a wonderful idea to ensure that everyone hears the speaker without a megaphone. It is not ridiculous at all !

because megaphones arent allowed. It's a way around that. you say something and everyone repeats it so that everyone else can hear.
