  • No, it's not your ignorance, but my lazynes in the comments. On my blog I have a game component called that is a replace ment for Octrees and it's called a Geographic Grid Registration System (GGR).

    Each one of those boxes you see is like a Octree node, but it manages moving objects, as a registered object moves from one zone to the other it is un registered in the current zone and then registered in the new zone. An object can be registered in more tha none zone if it is on the edges. cont.
