Nintendo own the rights for this so i doubt we will see it on 360 anytime soon!
By the way, before anybody starts sending stupid replies to my post just ask yourself one question, if Rare own all the rights to develop a sequal to KI and KI2 and Microsoft have the rights, therefor, to publish this game and distribute it on the 360 then why oh why have they not done so. Nintendo still own all the publishing rights to this game.

@AnitaKathy Midway doesn't own anything, they only manufactured the hardware as they were a major player in the Amusement sector back then. Rare developed the game for Nintendo as a showpiece for the new Ultra 64 technology and subsequent toned down home version called the N64.

It's true, they've been hinting about a KI3 in Banjo Tooie, they most likely make it for the 360, Wii wouldn't be able to contain the level of awesomeness that Killer Instinct is made of =P

KI 1 had some better voicing to the simple combos, like Monster combo, but KI2 was overall the much more fluid, better game. I at one point had pretty much mastered it since I worked at the arcade back when it was out..."the good old days".
the new banjo and kazooie game but i heard it was not as good as the old N64 ones so if they are making a KI 3 i just hope its a good game and they not just do like they did with Conker: live and reloaded and just add on a online muliplayer and call it a new game

I think its funny that all these new fighting games came out, and Killer instinct 1 pwns them all. They should at least learn from that game and make new fun fighting games! Street Fighter 4 is fun, but it lacks the combo system I love so much..

@locsta1234 Its ok dude relax. The new engine that Rare are working on Is for Blu-ray exclusively. Why are they making it? Yes its for KI3. Now its not comfirmed but It has been mentioned as a work in progress in a few magazine articles I have read. The KI thats being for xbox is just a remake of N64 game with extras. haha and I think xbox lover have excepted their console is last gen. Microsofts X-Elite 2/720 is due next year or the year after. I ope to God if there is a KI3 that music isn't used; doesn't fit the KI setting at ALL. KI was dark, gruesome and brooding and the soundtrack highlighted that. This song is WAY to grand and triumphant and doesn't fit KI at all.
I dunno. Sounds to me at points like it could be played during the characters' epilogue if they came out the other end of the competition better off, i.e achieving their goal, like a cure for Sabrewulf's lycanthropy or whatever have you. Or, you know, playing during the credits.

If only they rely would wake the F up and realize people want another KI game. People have wanted another for well over a god damn decade.
Apparently a long time back someone was asked about making another and they replied with the retarded excuse that they wanted to only make another if they sure it would rely be original in the current day market.
In short he was someone who needed to be slapped in the face and told not to show up at another E3 till they have a new KI to show us.
The potential this game has to be re-made in today's vid game market is incredible. To this day the K1 arcade version is still not outdated, but it could also get royally fucked up like they did with #2.
They should include all the players from both games, plus new ones of course. Hopefully it would be more like KI 1, and if they leave Cinder out again that would be beyond stupid.
KI 3, if done right would be a masterpiece. and quite possibly the best 1 on 1 fighting game ever made.

I'd LOVE for a KI3 to be made, but if it did, I would want Rare to be as far away from M$ as they could possibly be, because M$ has a bad habit of completely fucking over companies and their games. BUT Nintendo owns the rights to Killer Instinct... this is why the game has been in limbo. Xbox owns Rare and Nintendo owns Killer Instinct.....The game is gone...face it.
I've never heard of Nintendo selling the rights to KI to Rare after they sold Rare to Microsoft so maybe Rare always had exclusive rights to the Killer Instinct franchise and the game was only PRODUCED by Nintendo as it says in the credits.

Why would they make KI3 for the gay ass xbox? Xbox isn't worthy of having such an epic game like this on their piece o crap box they should be making this game for the ps3 imagine the graphics of a game like this in blu-Ray so much more detail (watch me get thumbs down from xbox lovers xD)

@locsta1234 Its ok dude relax. The new engine that Rare are working on Is for Blu-ray exclusively. Why are they making it? Yes its for KI3. Now its not comfirmed but It has been mentioned as a work in progress in a few magazine articles I have read. The KI thats being for xbox is just a remake of N64 game with extras. haha and I think xbox lover have excepted their console is last gen. Microsofts X-Elite 2/720 is due next year or the year after. Ironic thing is It'll use Sony bluray players lol

I ope to God if there is a KI3 that music isn't used; doesn't fit the KI setting at ALL. KI was dark, gruesome and brooding and the soundtrack highlighted that. This song is WAY to grand and triumphant and doesn't fit KI at all.

I dunno. Sounds to me at points like it could be played during the characters' epilogue if they came out the other end of the competition better off, i.e achieving their goal, like a cure for Sabrewulf's lycanthropy or whatever have you. Or, you know, playing during the credits.

If only they rely would wake the F up and realize people want another KI game. People have wanted another for well over a god damn decade.
Apparently a long time back someone was asked about making another and they replied with the retarded excuse that they wanted to only make another if they sure it would rely be original in the current day market.
In short he was someone who needed to be slapped in the face and told not to show up at another E3 till they have a new KI to show us.

The potential this game has to be re-made in today's vid game market is incredible. To this day the K1 arcade version is still not outdated, but it could also get royally fucked up like they did with #2.
They should include all the players from both games, plus new ones of course. Hopefully it would be more like KI 1, and if they leave Cinder out again that would be beyond stupid.
KI 3, if done right would be a masterpiece. and quite possibly the best 1 on 1 fighting game ever made.

The ultra featured in this vid doesn't even belong to the guy who posted this video, and the sound of THIS music could be ANYTHING.
I'd LOVE for a KI3 to be made, but if it did, I would want Rare to be as far away from M$ as they could possibly be, because M$ has a bad habit of completely fucking over companies and their games. Look at FASA. They're gone now. Bungie only narrowly escaped that fate and the Halo franchise paid the price.
Remember: we want KI3 to be actually GOOD.

They are talking about making Killer instinct 3. And they are talking about bring it to all the systems. Now Nintendo dose own most of the right to the game. But they are talking about making a deal with both Microsoft and Sony. I'm guess by next summer we well start hearing more info.

I've never heard of Nintendo selling the rights to KI to Rare after they sold Rare to Microsoft so maybe Rare always had exclusive rights to the Killer Instinct franchise and the game was only PRODUCED by Nintendo as it says in the credits.
