  • In 1966 this highway was a single track road . I was getting a lift from the BP oil terminal at Kwinana to Fremantle in a little blue mini and we never saw another car for the whole journey. There were no skyscrapers either. The main road in fremantle wasn't even tarmacked till the America's cup came to town

  • i came to perth from uk i never lookd back wat a awsum place to live ive been in perth for ten yrs now and i now even go for australia in all sports it is heaven i love it in perth

  • The most beautiful city in Australia.. The northern beaches cruise is a knock-out too.. the weather, the beaches, the people, the lifestyle and a very, very clean city.. I visited Perth in 1983.. I just never left..

  • Hehe, visited in 1983 and never left ;o) I was also thinking about this when I was there, hehe ;o)

  • Im only 15 and my mum wants to immagrate from the UK she has been accepted by Wester Aus police do you think its a good move?

  • Thank you very very much! do you have skype or msn or somthing i want to ask you a few questions, also my name is ryan :)

  • sure is a good ides, i live here in Perth, great weather here in perth, give it a go

  • Do it. If you don't like it you can always go ack to the UK.

Give it at least two years though.

You will miss your friends, however there are things called planes that do wonderful things. Give it a try!!!

All the best. A Scottish immigrant! (2.6 yrs)

  • Yea i know about planes :p look at my chennl its full of them

  • i used to live in perth as a child now i live in mandurah 100km's south of perth so i travel along kwinana fwy alot it is a fun drive when it is not busy

  • I especially like when suddenly the skyscrapers appear in the sky ... really a great freeway but I couldn't drive by myself there (didn't had my international driver license with me). In a traffic like here it must be awesome to cruise around.

  • Kwinanna freeway is boring.

  • With the wrong car it definately is boring. Thanks for the comment anyway.

  • not really, i like driving. i just drive on that road every friday and sunday :( perth to mandurah.

  • Well, I agree when driving somewhere way too often then it becomes really boring - even with a great car ;o)

  • yeah :P

  • hahah it can be! but like the author said, it can be interesting

  • Ghost Town

  • in the centre around the skyscrapers you can see more life ;o)

  • cool. looks a lot like west Texas, except the traffic flow is a bit disorienting to a Yank

  • Hehehe, the traffic flow is also a bit disorienting for me as a German ;o)

  • west/north oz -- the best part of OZZZ. cool video

  • Thank you! I still dream about driving all around Australia ;o)

  • I love the hard rock song...and I love the area. Can't wait to see West Oz someday.

  • thanks about the music ... Oliver Gerke made some great hard rock songs. West Oz is really great, I hope to can see it also soon again but by checking my bank account I guess it will still have to wait for 2-3 more years.

  • Wir fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n...

  • hehehe, yes we do ... I just remember I also have such a video about Stuttgart ;o)

  • I grew up in and around Perth, if you think it's changed a lot since 2004... try 1987. But you got the general idea, a couple of towers and flat land, no people anywhere, and blue skies.

  • heard it even have changed a lot since 2004 ;o)

  • Great view of places around the world i always like to see other lands round the world... 5*****s... KluTz of The Mo'PHoKaS

  • Yeah it is really a great thing ... but to see everything by yourself is even much greater. I hope to can go to Western Australia again ... next time I want to get a camper and driving at the coast to North.

  • Cool footage Dok. I dig the music too

  • Thanks a lot for your comment! I am editing another video from my trip in Oz 2004 right now. Almost finished but my Movie Maker just freezes way too often today, LOL

  • awesome imagery and cool soundtrack! Definatly a destination i want to visit too someday.

  • I hope to can be there soon again ... it was great! Whenever I have the money and the time I want to drive around whole of Australia and if possible through of it a few times. If I could chose the place to live it would be there.

  • wow then it must be great! Yeah money and time... the old problem...

  • yeah ... I wait for the time when time and money is no more matter on earth ;o)

  • Hey Sven, you ever been to the States?

  • No, still not ... but always wanted to drive at the whole Route 66 ;o)

  • That would be cool. Part of it runs through Kansas. Stop by on your way through.

  • I knew a girl from Kansas but since she joined the Navy and changed her address too often so I lost the contact with her. KS people are fun :o)

  • There isn't much here so we party. lol

  • hehehe, George, let's have a beer party with your homebrew then ;o)

  • If you let me know ahead of time I will make a shitload of beer so we can get shitfaced!!! You can get drunk and stay in my guest room!!!! You are welcome in my home!!!!

  • It's interesting to hear how much has changed just at this area there ... Time's running with lots of changes. You lived 40 years in Perth? I thought you're just around 35 years old ;o)

  • oh i wish i was 16 again but nup im 40 , born 7th june 1967

  • time flies sometimes ... 2 weeks ago I was talking with my old swarm from my youth. When I asked her about her age she said 27 and I wanted to say "Oh, you're older than me" ... I forgot I am 32 now ... still feel like 25 ;o) ...

  • Did you find it strange driving on our side of the road lol.:)

  • hehe, I was only the "co-pilot" ... I was used about the traffic pretty soon. But when I wanted to sit inside the car I always searched for the steering wheel, hahaha.

  • Awesome trip to an awesome country ... but they don't drive at the right side there LOL
