  • This guy is not just a shredder, this guy is a true virtuoso musician.

  • The only other shredder that I've heard that can do justice to this kind of jam is Kee Marcello. This is great, good job George!

  • Brilliant, nt just amazing tone but incredible technique and crazly smooth!

  • Ur playing is awesome, but I don't think this is slow blues....

  • What kind of guitar picks does he use?

  • George is a true musician.

  • Wauwwww beautifullll

  • i love this song, because it 'hasn't nothing of blues, great george

  • Simply beautiful

  • TOO BAD ASS TO THE BONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Очень чисто играет, и ни одной ноты мимо. Профессионал, одним словом! =)

  • George Bellas is a Fanstastic Guitar-Player

  • who give a fuck is blue or not bottom line is this dude is bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • okay so im not going to rip on this guy, his is freakin rediculous i just think the slow blues idea should preserved for the actual blues playing. i literally heard no blues licks in there. come on people

  • This guy TO ME could be the best DAMN Guitarist IN THE WORLD he's BEAUITFULLLLLY Amazing if you don't like this you don't like music, hey george go to my site Eric Watler please give me some good feed back, rock out dude.

  • AWESOME

  • which guitar is he using??

is that a fender classic series 50´s??

    greetings!! and excellent video!!

  • looks lile you lost your mojo .no feeling

  • *shred* *bend* *shred* *bend* *shred* *big bend* *shred*

  • @rexasul nice observation!....ahhmm..now can you tell the scales and phrasing he used??...

  • George is definitely among the best guitarists youtube has to offer!

  • JUST----GENIOUS

  • You suck

  • @GTEskee ....u suck..this guty is AMAZINGLY GOOD

  • amazing guitarist

  • this is the best video on youtube. I come back almost daily to it.

  • my god this is the best video on youtube. i just keep coming back to it almost daily. in fact, of all shreds and chops and licks in the world, I wish I could simply play this----nothing else

  • He doesn't need an expensive amp!

  • stop shreddin dont be a fabio

  • people, the dude is soo badass he just created a new genre, shred blues, really well done and definitely has a bluesy feel to, i feel blue when i watch this, makes me wanna throw my guitar out...jus sayin

  • I give a fk ctrock , thats why i clicked on it , if i wanted to hear malmsteen licks ill click on them .

  • Nice , I like the feel of the whole thing in its own right , however it has nothing to do with blues in my opinion

  • @1:18 George plays a little too fast the last extended arpeggio...god damn it he almost did it perfectly! Now, from experience I would urge myself during a replicative effort to dismiss this emphasis on sheer speed to keep consistent the feel and tone of the technique applied to render that phrase of expression...

  • continued:

    for the aimed effect

  • I added a Hall reverb effect to give the sound a little more depth and breath...sounds great now!

  • This guy has an amazing ear...very strong..

  • This is dominant...he could rip somebodies head off with this...

  • who give a fuck is not blues is still super kick ass!!!!!!!

  • best starts from 1:34

  • where can i get this mp3 ?

  • lord of chromatic!!~

  • nice chromatic

  • This must be one of my favorite videos on youtube. no matter how fast he goes there's still a ton of feeling in every single note. i just wish i could play like this

  • bellas is even more intense than yngwie....

  • he jizzed while playing this!

  • I just keep coming back to this track. Lots of feeling and emotion and blinding technique

  • eso es un blues? jajajaj

  • he is amazing, but that ain't the blues. He sounds like , well don't know what but that's the way it sounds. Nice playing though.

  • nice CHOPS but this is a slow blues? am I missing something? I hear a slow backing track with mainly fast playing over it, thats it. Certainly not a SHRED (ethem) of the essence of a slow blues.I recommend going back and studying some of the blues greats who invented that style of music. Or retitle this vid to something more appropriate.

  • @Shewolfen It's a long story... that is the title of the track.

  • @lauriemonk ah , the title of the song is a 'tounge in cheek' joke then I take it...

  • @Shewolfen Oh jeeze- Can always spot a hater---sad thing is people like u are the majority

  • @lucasregan1986 how does saying its not the blues make me a hater? I didnt say he was a shitty guitarist or anything bad, he is great for what he does, I said so , but that its titled wrong. but appearently its been clarified that it was ment as a joke as the name of the song. Thats not hating anybody. Who is doing the hating, with comments like 'majority'. I certanly don't feel that way about most people. good luck and god bless ya

  • @Shewolfen

I was starting to accept your apology, until you threw supernatural beings into it.

Come come now, what would jesus do?

He certainly wouldn't waist energy on a mislabeling.

  • @ExtremeBogom oh no?

Matthew 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. *shrug* Hon, I think you are make a much bigger deal out of this then I or the poster of this video. relax, stress is bad for ya. move on, its only a comment on a guitar video on youtube.

  • @Shewolfen

    Don't tell me to relax.

Your the one who came on here trying to correct people.

Looks like you better bury your head further into your bible Shewolf.

  • @ExtremeBogom lol ok as soon as I'm done with this book on Alchemy...

  • @Shewolfen

    What would jesus do?...

He wouldn't give life to you for one.

  • @ExtremeBogom

you don't read the bible very much do you lol.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

Of course not. Were in the 21st century now, were past that.

  • @ExtremeBogom

    33% of the world disagrees.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

That's quite a small percentage. I thought it was around 50%...

30% isn't very promising is it? lol

  • @ExtremeBogom

there are several guesses, im not sure if anything is accurate, but i do know christianity is growing rapidly in china. atheism isn't promising either. the thought not existing after you die isn't very pleasant and i think there is enough proof of an afterlife already. there are a great handful of people who died and was brought back to life that have afterlife stories.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

Yeah, I've read about China before somewhere.

Proof of an afterlife? Lol cute.

  • @Shewolfen the rhythm is the back is "slow blues"

  • @Shewolfen i think this guys done enough studying for the both of us

  • @Shewolfen Planet Earth, George Bellas playing... an original approach. Just that.

  • @Shewolfen It's a I IV V progression. That is a blues progression. You seem to be under the delusion that blues must replicate something that has already been done.

  • That's anything but "slow" blues. Great spiking and sweeping. Dem long digits definitely help to pull off those licks. Thanks, Showtime

  • 1 000 000 Thumbs up from Badenia.

  • nothing blues here, sorry. Want to hear some great bluesy stuff find some of the bootleg live stuff from Yngwie in the 80's that was smokin

  • I love the amount and his chromatic runs. But most of all I love his face expression. Looks like he's high on something

  • @MikeVaren yes the face adds so much to the feeling.

  • amazing

  • Θεος εισαι αδελφε.Να εχεις παντα υγεια και προοδο.

  • Not trying to hate on the dudes playing, he is very precise. It just seems like Ive heard this a million times. From Yngwie.

  • I want to see him playing jazz

  • Yngwe Malmstein is not the band its a guys name

  • this is the main reason YGWE can't keep a band together to much shred

  • yngwie IS the band!

  • I am yet young and I have 16 years. I listen hip - hopu. Only O. S. T. R. and different. But gram 7 years on guitar. And this which does George it is amazing. My second love, beautifully acted. This guitar cryings. This is championship. :Am D from Polish and my English it is weak. Bravos for this Lord. :D:D

  • he sounds like how... a musical orgasm.. hahahaha, look ur face!! i like it... i realy like it...

this man so amazing to play!!!! The Chromatic scales.... pfff...

    very impressing... see y

  • just because he has classical influences doesnt mean hes copying yngwie.infact he doesnt sound a thing like yngwie malmsteen!

  • what? you dont hear Yngwie here? reallly...? wow

Just so you know, that's all he listened to when he was growing up

  • @davtones mmm he got classical influence, but sounds nothing like malsmteen, actually i think he got his own unique sound, he doesn't sound like anybody i have ever heard.

  • Seriously, if you were a musician, you would realize that this sounds so FAR from Yngwie. More chromaticism and a LOT more original ideas.

  • i love his chromatic runs

  • this is not the blues. I suppose it is giving me the blues though since it is shaming the name of a genre formulated from despair and expression not showing off., which is all he seems to be doing. Shitty phrasing to boot.

I do admit he is very clean tone wise for a shredder.

  • The only thing slow about this is the backing track... waterfall flurries and rolling hammers, good stuff!

  • I want this backing track so bad.

  • this guy is super kick ass so clean and much feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • George doesn't use alternate picking. e uses directional. He also doesn't palm mute playing notes, ne's using his Thumb. That's the correct way..

  • AWESOME I LOVE IT

  • chido

  • so fucking good...

  • wow how can he play that with a really low distortion

  • he's just a really fucken clean player man, lots of alternate picking prac on a clean tone probs lol. how good is he though aye!

  • he`s George Bellas.

He can do what he likes :p

he could kick chuck norris`s ass with only playing his notes.

  • His distortion is high ,its just how he has his tone set up

  • His distortion is not high. I know for a fact that George sets his gain at 4. Just e-mail him and he'll reply. I've got to know George a bit through e-mail. Super nice guy and always takes time to reply to fans. I asked him what settings he uses and his reply said 4 for gain. It's definitely a lot cleaner than all other shredders. Anyway, he's definitely a great player and a great guy.

  • no, its not... you can hear the sound is almost clean...

  • I don't understand how people can play with high amounts of distortion(I can't because I can't mute unwanted noise, and i can't play up to my full potential),I think the reason george uses low distortion because of his right hand technique(so it would be easier to mute strings you aren't playing at the moment) because he's anchoring his picking hand with three fingers

  • Yeah...this song has speed, but I still can hear that is played with feelings, maybe it is not like Becker but he has one of the most clean sweep picking. You should look for "Mind Over Matters" Album, 03.Reflections and 11.Collage.... these are very nice Played with Heart songs.

  • this is great

  • BLUBLULULU....

  • this is great but keep in mind: speed doesnt mean talent, and speed doesnt mean music. when i hear a solo that has not even 50 notes, but its played with feeling and heart, it moves me more than these 4000000000000 notes. still a great vid

  • fucking astonishing masterful shit man. george bellas is a king among men.

  • fucking awesome

  • tio tienes que enseñarme eso...

pasame los tap o algo esta guapisimo...

    un saludo Campeon

  • Bellas is a GOD. His guitar playing is unmatched, and this is by far one of the top displays of lead guitar playing I've ever seen. He makes me want to give up playing myself. His tone, his feeling, his note selections and phrasing, his pure emotion pierce the soul and leave me wanting to watch this over and over again. Everything he does is pure magic. May I add his vibrato is just perfect. Check the note at 1:07, mindblowing, incredible.

  • man why do people alway talk shit about every guitar player even from yngwie to steve vai. man these guy are all bad ass guitar player. of course some time they come out with a song u don't like but that does not mean they are a bad guitar player! this guy george ROCK!

  • no man, im sorry but that is not blues. its good guitarwork, but definitely not blues

  • Definately blues scales....I think its blues. Just not the blues you were looking for.

  • Blues is what you make of it. I don't think GB intended it to be called "blues," but whatever.

Some of you guys are full of shit because you seem to discredit things that don't fall into what YOU think can be categorized under blues.

People always crap on guys like Vinnie Moore, George Bellas, Yngwie, etc.. because they know they can never play like them. They're limited to their little cliche blues licks.

Grow a pair and put time in the woodshed you bunch of damned snobs!

  • grow a pair? wtf is your problem you got too much time on ur hands...this is not blues to me sorry it made you have a hissy fit..take the backing track off this song and it sounds nothing like blues. i never said it was bad its just NOT blues. With as many videos as you got posted up on here (0) i wouldnt be talkin all that big game mr shit talker unless you can back it up with your "un-cliche" licks, if you can even play guitar that is.

  • Idiot re-read my comment. I wasn't even talking to you beyong one point.

By the way, it's funny how you little punks are always saying "I don't see your vids... etc..." Videos don't determine a good player. Most of those guys making videos edit and retake them a hundred times before they ever get published.

I play live and for real with no retakes and touch-ups. I don't need edited little videos recorded through a camcorder to prove anything.

Grow up fool. Blues is what you make it.

  • I agree with you, blues is what you make of it. You don't need to only use 1 box with 5 notes to make it strictly Blues. It's all about the emotion and expression, which George oozes it.

  • Fair enough if it's not you're type of Blues, but it is still a form of Blues. Is your definition of Blues strictly Crossroads style or BB King? What about Gary Moore, he Still had the Blues and that is a similar backing to what George has here, yet that song Gary uses strictly Aeolian and harmonic minor, yet it's still a blues song. Blues can come in many different forms, and here George is definitely playing the blues. I'm not having a go at you either, just expressing my opinion.

  • this is not blues

  • it's not the conventional blues, but you could still call it a form of blues. It uses the blues scale and a bluesy backtrack.

But why argue over genres? Music is music, and whether or not this is blues, it's GOOD!

  • lirubububrururururururururubububububububuururururururururururuublirulirurururulilililolollolollololololololololoololollalalalllulululululululuululull wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • @tincho9413

    2:06 to 2:16??

    haha

  • Bellas has it all! it has some baroque ideas with fine melodies and tons of feel!!

hes like crying half way through the songs...

    great piece..great reference....

  • and they said eric claqpton was the best hahaha

  • Great player, but guys like this just can't seem to play enough notes - if he spaced it out a bit, it would be less boring and build better tension...

  • I agree, he's repeating the same scale patterns over and over. I prefer the jazz blues. He does have a good feel and tons of chops tho. Rather hear Jeff Beck

  • I agree with you. Unlike the people who gave you thumbs down, I recognize that you aren't talking shit. He has everything he needs to execute perfect leads, he's just playing way too many notes and it's kind of overkill. Unbelievable player, though. Yngwie doesn't have shit on this guy.

  • Rollotony, cheers, but it's only my opinion - and that may not account for much! Don't get me wrong, it's quite exiting to hear fast playing by someone who can really pull it off, but personally, not through the entire tune - there's no light and shade for me...

  • You don't know shit about Yngwie then.

  • this guy definitely a fan of Yngwie Malmsteen (The King)

  • this dude makes me want to get a strat

  • This guy must have an incredible ear to be able to play that...

  • great song!!!

    it´s really amazing!!!

  • no way, waaaaay to warm to be an mg10. It's a pretty unique tone.

  • the tone is ridiculous

  • what a fucking great solo !!!!!!!!! so clean and killer tone!

  • His level of control over his guitar is incredible. He's just dominating it!

  • Holy shit. Great playing.

  • lol hes like crying half way through the vid.

  • la we fea

  • This dude has it all! He can shred but with fine melodies and tons of feel!!

  • Well-it ain't blues &it ain't slow, but its fucking GREAT. He's unbelievable ! One of the greats ,certainly. Y'all should check out 3 equally great Japanese guitarists called KATSU OHTA,TAKAYOSHI OHMURA,& GENTARO.

  • those guys are one my list to post a blog on... I love this video! I would die to be able to play with this much feeling!

  • great solo, nothing to do with blues...but he feels what he plays and that's all that matters.

  • ye!!!

  • Smooth arpeggios, breath-taking chromatic, and just all-around clean & tastey, creative, smokin' shred. Kotzen - Yngwie esc

  • Sweet Sound.

  • 0:25 - 0:27

    it's really beautiful...

  • well its not really blues at all. the backing is sort of a blue chord progression, but hes not using blues scales.

  • This guy is awesome, but this is completely not "slow blues". There is basically nothing bluesy about it. Still he is obviously an amazing shredder. 5*

  • malmsteen influence!

  • It's neo-classical, OF COURSE YJM is an influence! However, I hear a lot of Vinnie Moore's tone, articulation, & fluidity.

(Think of the Intro improv-shred on Vinnie's first instructional video.)

Bellas may not be "re-writing" the book on neo-classical shred vocabulary, but he sure has a lot of passion, articulation, and a VERY-HIGHLY developed technique!

Stevie Ray Vaughan didn't re-write Blues-vocabulary, but he mixed his influences and played with great tone, fire & passion. Peace!

  • agree. i hear slightly more vinnie moore-ish than yjm.

  • but can malmsteen shred like this and having the soul of stevie ray in his heart

    i dont think so

  • PERFECTLY and brilliantly said, cheers mate!

I havent stopped improving over this vid, having a BLAST!

  • mee to ..i wish i could get the backing track to this but unfortuantely i dont know where to find it

  • very fluenty solo!!! i really enjoy listen to this clean sound... i just dont like the cliches licks... always finishing in key =/

i can guess what he s going to do.

  • He played something like this at Uli Jon Roth and Friens last year. He is obviously an amazing player and was a real nice, and very down to earth guy when I had a chance to speak with him at the show. I brought one of his CD's to get signed and I could tell that he really appreciated his fans.

  • this man is a very great musician in all aspects, he is very talented and dedicated, much pasion here!!! vocation!!! soul in music

  • UES, much passion and dedication, we are all suppose to ENJOY the talent on youtube and INSPIRE others as well :) Well said!

  • this dude is kick ass.CTROCK THE HIP HOP ROCK GUITAR ARTIST

  • Parabens ..... I see your video every day ... one of the best in the yotube ..... I am trying to learn to play the 1 year and hopefully playing guitar one day look to you.

    Video 1.000

    my contry is - Brazil

excuse my English - use the translator google

  • Amazing guitarist. Sounds like he went to the Yngvie school of Guitar. 1,000 notes per second. =) Good stuff tho'. I'd give my left ball to play HALF that well.

  • what joker called this SLOW blues? :P

  • George Bellas... Good joke don't you think?

  • Well, it's closer to Fusion than actual Blues, but I see what you mean... And his improvisation skills are great! I don't understand why you said it was terrible.

  • it's because he plays to many notes without sense, like doing only picking exercises but with a backing track

  • What might not make sense to you might make alot of sense to him, and isn't that what's most important...

  • I agree, what might not make sense to you makes a lot of musical sense to me... I listen to a lot of music though.

  • jaja, fuck you

  • Kick ass blues..Love it.

  • what a great solo. CTROCK THE HIP HOP ROCK GUITAR ARTIST

  • So...thats slow? i wish i could play that slow blues!, he's awesome!

  • Ok!Bellas is an amazing shredder!and I think that what is worth to be mentioned about him is that he alt.picks and sweeps so smoothly and so cleanly(even though he picks every note, his notes flow and sound connected[legato type of thing])!and his tone is amazing too!I ain't a shredder myself but I appreciate the talent and the effort of these players.
