@code0312 the ones your thinking of are the eric clapton blackie tribute guitars, they have been custom made with all the dinks and scartches that the original blackie had. this one is a NOS (new old stock) so its what blackie was like when new, still an amazing guitar.
This is the tone that I long to have my eric clapton strat sound like. The vintage noiseless pickups just sound kinda "fake". Anyone have any suggestions on a noiseless single coil set that has THIS tone? Fantastic playing, by the way.
Suhr makes something called the BPSSC or something like that, check it out. A noise reduction system that allows you to use whatever pickups you want without nearly as much noise
I want to get strat with fates neck possible, and as far as I know 56' series is when they made the fates neck, how does it sound to you, does it sound fatter? what do you see difference sound wise and neck wise in these two guitars? thanks for all posts
Exactly the other way: 0:31 shows it is a 3-way switch! Greg tries to find the position between bridge and middle pu and has trouble to find it, cause there is no notch! That's how players used to use the in between sounds before 5-way switches were introduced
is the vibrato blocked? Or is the arm just for decoration?

one of the best tones you have ever showed here. just don't like the 3 way switch, but that's easy to replace...

hehehe, got it!
well, i thought it was a 5 way, cause my strat has a 5 way but still sometimes doesn't get in position.
anyway thanks! :-)
KEPHALLE 2 years ago
It seems like he has some trouble getting the notched position which would mean to me that it is a 3 way and he has to fish around to find the notch.
kleydj13 2 years ago
3-way!
