I have a very strong fear of airplanes, I do whatever I can to distract myself and could probably end up staring at my phone and do random stuff just because as well.

Boredom and sleepiness make people act weird. In my case the last time I flew, I hadn't slept for about 25 hours before getting on the plane and trough out the 4 hour flight i couldn't sleep so i tried reading the dark templar saga on my htc and one hour into the flight my body started acting weird and got a boner for no reason until I landed. Those were the 3 most uncomfortable hours of my life so far.
