Because Titus can't make games? I mean, they were the ones behind Superman 64. They could port the best game ever made and it would still turn out like crap.
hey, im looking for more games like oddworld and prince of persia, im wondering if anyone know any other games like this, iv played prince of persia 1 and 2 oddworld 1 and 2, flashback and blackthorne (blackhawk), so please any suggestions will do
can you play this game on the 360? I mean i have tried but it keeps going to a black screen. I just wanna know if it might be a faulty copy of the game.
I heard that the classic POP games don't work. I guess it's another case of supporting a game being emulated because it was good enough. I hate emulation.
@elbryan42 Emulators are atrocious. I run all of my old games with real hardware, it's a much more rewarding and authentic experience --> and there's never any issues.
I wish the prince of Persia Games became more similar to the 1001 nights again. I could never get into the gamecube trilogy because it lost the amazing setting and aesthetic it had.
Thanks for posting this. I did eventually complete this game, but lemme tell you, it was not a pleasant experience. One of my biggest YouTube thrills is seeing someone conquer a game far better than I ever could. Let's hope that's the case here.
the opening music has been in my head all morning, and I dont know why :)) ha ha. Maybe its because once upon a time, I lived in ancient Persia and I was the slave that rose against the Jaffar 2 !! :))
holly shiiit, all these years I have this phrase in my head 'known by no one, scrown by all' . man all these years i;v been trying to remember where i had heard it! I just got an answer to a long long long wondering. thanks
They're technically based off of the same stories in 1001 Nights. However, some aspects, like the villian's names being so familiar (Jaffar vs Jafar) definitely point to that Disney's Aladdin stole ideas from Prince of Persia. Prince of Persia came out in 1989, Disney's Aladdin in 1992.
This is only on the North American XBox version. It's not on the PS2, Gamecube or PC versions. It's accessed at 33%, where you'd unlock Prince of Persia 1 on the PS2 and Gamecube. You get Prince of Persia 1 for beating the game on the XBox. The PC version has neither unlockable game.
To tell you the truth, I originally had the Gamecube version until I found out that it didn't have Prince of Persia 2. Then I sold it and got the XBox version.
Used to play it when I was 10 or something. GREAT CLASSIC!! Got stuck in one of their levels couldn't finish playing cause of it. Just wish I could play it now and get revenge. XD!!
Well, I played this game and finished it after all, but I must admit this is one of the most difficult arcade games ever made. Good work and I approciate you took all the major health potions. I was unable to discover the one behind the rock in last level of ruins, but I have found (and drunk, of course) all the others (-:
I mean... if they have TurboGrafx 16 and Genesis games... why they don't release MS-DOS Games? It can be because MS-DOS is part of Microsoft, and they only release DOS Games to Xbox 360
I've played the SNES Version, it isn't bad, is pretty cool, but i didn't liked the music... but yeah... is pretty cool, and has lots of stages... i got lost in one with some sort of "Warp-Doors"
@jessefeo Those games feel somehow different. I couldn't bring myself to finish MGS4, let alone replay it. oldscool games fet really timeless and people still play and replay them nowadays
@0428733 wow i have replayed MGS4 a couple of times and its one of the best... the storylines now are just so action packed and exciting like The Force Unleashed
So this man is actually a son of king from a destroyed homeland (or old capital). So he has his fate as prince of Persia. If it was just a poor boy and not a son of king, he would be killed...
POP and POP2 were the defining games of my childhood. I used to play em with my dad on a Macintosh Quadra (the Mac ports were definitely the best!)
I remember how disappointed I was when I found out there would be no POP3, instead just some 3D one. Ah well, call me old fashioned. I'm 19 and still run through these games for nostalgia's sake. Now there's a movie coming out and everything. Maybe that speaks to what these games meant to some.
@fizzlemagizzle The Mac version was cool, except you would start randomly losing life somewhere near Level 6 or so and from then on out. Glitch maybe?
@fizzlemagizzle I loved the Sands of Time saga. They're awesome and give PoP a whole new level of awesome. However, the classic saga will always remain above all.
i used to play this when i was 7 years old, and i remember if you went to the right away from the pier you would just die instantly and get beat up by a bunch of guys off screen, pretty funny

Aladin is a very old story from the story collection "one thousand and one Arabian nights"
Aladin 3 was also based on a story (Ali baba and the forty thieves) from this collection of Middle eastern stories.
Prince of Persia was probably inspired by a dozen stories written hundreds of years ago....
