  • Is the version on the Xbox the SNES version or the original DOS or Mac version?

  • It's the DOS version.

  • i just can't reach that boat!!! =( !!!!

  • This game is bad. No wonder this crap is rare on the snes.

  • This game is awesome! The SNES version is crap though, horrible port full of bugs.

  • And so the young lovers were wed and the lived happily, well, for eleven days.

    Such a good line

  • @cornishphilosopher 11 days... but why? (could have been 7 or anything else)

  • Why wasn't the SNES port as good? D:

  • Because Titus can't make games? I mean, they were the ones behind Superman 64. They could port the best game ever made and it would still turn out like crap.

  • hey, im looking for more games like oddworld and prince of persia, im wondering if anyone know any other games like this, iv played prince of persia 1 and 2 oddworld 1 and 2, flashback and blackthorne (blackhawk), so please any suggestions will do

  • My suggestion (besides the awesome games you listed) is Out of this World (and its sequel Heart of the Alien) and Heart of Darkness.

  • you can play the old DOS Games by download DOSBOX from :

dosbox(dot)com , then install DosBox then use command mount to mount and play your DOS Game example : mount c c:\prince2

  • I can't jump the fucking boat.

  • can you play this game on the 360? I mean i have tried but it keeps going to a black screen. I just wanna know if it might be a faulty copy of the game.

  • I heard that the classic POP games don't work. I guess it's another case of supporting a game being emulated because it was good enough. I hate emulation.

  • @elbryan42 Emulators are atrocious. I run all of my old games with real hardware, it's a much more rewarding and authentic experience --> and there's never any issues.

  • severo parche ese jueguito

  • aaaahhhhh....... PUF!

  • Ubisoft so need to remake this game, like they did with the original 1989 Prince of Persia, for Xbox 360 and PS3, with Prince of Persia Classic.

  • @Ceamonks890

    Agreed.

I wish the prince of Persia Games became more similar to the 1001 nights again. I could never get into the gamecube trilogy because it lost the amazing setting and aesthetic it had.

  • I love how the stranger refuses riches but asks for the daughter meaning he gets the riches anyways Smart move lol.

  • I really loved this game,When this game came i had to install it by using 5 or 7 5 inch old Floppy disks:)Unfortunately count end it...

  • I just wish they recorded the music from an AdLib card rather than using general MIDI instruments

  • Forget about the Xbox. Load up DOSBox and run the original DOS version of the game.

Thank you Jordan Mechner for this masterpiece. I remember playing this on my first PC, a 486 with only 4MB of RAM.

  • @papalolita Yeaaaah DOS rlz! Did more or less the same, =)

  • Thanks for posting this. I did eventually complete this game, but lemme tell you, it was not a pleasant experience. One of my biggest YouTube thrills is seeing someone conquer a game far better than I ever could. Let's hope that's the case here.

  • Every time i finished this game only with cheats :D

  • if they made an exact movie from this game unlike how they didnt make the pop sot movie like the game i would so watch it

  • i think its not the same prince of persia history we used to play now xDDDD

  • I think I'm going to download this game

  • @szjovane yes u have to download it its 1 of beauty old games u'll enjoy with it :-)

  • Hmm... Familiar Adlib sound from my childhood;-) Great! And thank U for posting it on YouTube

  • LOL at 3:45 the top AI was coming for him, and he jumped over and missed him.

  • an amazing game. unfortunately i never reached the ship XD

    i didn't have any skill.

  • OMG theme and game !

  • LOMBALGIA XD

  • this sucks ass compared to the second one

  • 1:31 well for 11 days

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i used to have ths game on mai computer ^^ its such a fun game

  • Is Jeffal still alive?

  • when I was young the part 3:05 always makes me laugh and get scared at the same time LOL

  • I like music on my old comp. Lol.

    Really,I do,more than this. xD

  • the opening music has been in my head all morning, and I dont know why :)) ha ha. Maybe its because once upon a time, I lived in ancient Persia and I was the slave that rose against the Jaffar 2 !! :))

  • IN SOVIET PERSIA. Peace only lasts 11 days.

  • so you play the bad guy who stole the girl.

  • Wow this took me back 15 years and I played the game so much I remembered everything now such great flashback thanks for texting

  • OMG this is freakin' awesome, i used to play this when i was 8

  • The Grand Vizier Jaffar looks old and ugly, but he's only 33.

  • hey dude, this it's out of place, but thanks for the HQ music of doom consoles ^^

  • You're very welcome. :)

  • holly shiiit, all these years I have this phrase in my head 'known by no one, scrown by all' . man all these years i;v been trying to remember where i had heard it! I just got an answer to a long long long wondering. thanks

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaa boom

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL 0:44 EDWARD CULLEN LOLOLOLOL

  • @victoriaVATICIDE dont ever EVER mention that faggot in this video, the prince is to badass for your bullshit

  • @gta4freak666 MY bullshit? u think i like twilight? i grew up with POP and twilight isn't anything special. and u r stupid xD

  • @gta4freak666 no, im not stupid.

  • @victoriaVATICIDE jajajajaj i was thinking the same thing!!

  • Why Is There Milk Behind The Prince When He Jumps Out The Window?

  • really u r playing this game on XBOX 360!!!!!!???????

  • I'm playing on the original XBox.

  • @elbryan42 -facepalm- it really bugs me when people 1. forget the old Xbox and 2. think the 360 is the ONLY Xbox

  • I remember how my brother and I freaked out because it was our first game where somebody was actually SPEAKING *lol*

  • this game is an art diamond compare to the crap i see today.

  • I wished Ubisoft remade this game just like they did with the first one!

  • it's a great story, a great game!! better of all stupid reach of graphics games

  • Prince of Persia Shadow and the Flame, such a classic

  • This game was kinda creepy...

  • Something about the music in this game is kind of creepy and mystifying.

  • it looks amazing !

  • What???? Is this based on Alladin or is Alladin based on this?

  • They're technically based off of the same stories in 1001 Nights. However, some aspects, like the villian's names being so familiar (Jaffar vs Jafar) definitely point to that Disney's Aladdin stole ideas from Prince of Persia. Prince of Persia came out in 1989, Disney's Aladdin in 1992.

  • This game was available in Xbox?????????????????

  • Yes, it's unlockable in POP: Sands of Time.

  • @elbryan42

It's only unlockable in the US version I'm afraid. PAL version Xbox gamers are f...ed as usual.

  • @elbryan42 how do you unlock this because it is also unlockable on the GC.please respond

  • This is only on the North American XBox version. It's not on the PS2, Gamecube or PC versions. It's accessed at 33%, where you'd unlock Prince of Persia 1 on the PS2 and Gamecube. You get Prince of Persia 1 for beating the game on the XBox. The PC version has neither unlockable game.

  • To tell you the truth, I originally had the Gamecube version until I found out that it didn't have Prince of Persia 2. Then I sold it and got the XBox version.

  • @elbryan42 well thats bogus crap cuz i used to have the xbox with POP SOT but it got the red ring of fricken death!!!

  • @yeah69mx it's also available with the optional floppy disc expansion kit.

  • I do not speak English please tell me what in Spanish designed pleasssss

  • the princess is hot!

  • @liffaman agreed

  • oh i never realized you were supposed to jump onto the ship

  • Nice artwork.

  • what a funny game, very addictive!!!! i loved it!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I remember a secret place on that game, that a big lobster appears, i think is on the first level

  • I never got passed the quick sand I was too young to understand this

  • is the story like aladin's ? O_O

  • Actually, Aladdin stole Prince of Persia's story. The first Prince of Persia came out a few years before Disney's Aladdin.

  • @elbryan42

Aladin is a very old story from the story collection "one thousand and one Arabian nights"

Aladin 3 was also based on a story (Ali baba and the forty thieves) from this collection of Middle eastern stories.

Prince of Persia was probably inspired by a dozen stories written hundreds of years ago....

  • this game sucks lol

  • prince of persia 2: THAT FUCKING SHIP

  • That laugh at 5:00... I heard it in the old kid's Windows Movie Maker with McZee! LOL

  • Used to play it when I was 10 or something. GREAT CLASSIC!! Got stuck in one of their levels couldn't finish playing cause of it. Just wish I could play it now and get revenge. XD!!

  • Well, I played this game and finished it after all, but I must admit this is one of the most difficult arcade games ever made. Good work and I approciate you took all the major health potions. I was unable to discover the one behind the rock in last level of ruins, but I have found (and drunk, of course) all the others (-:

    Good work.

  • this is soo messed up :S

  • Pro skill play

  • that game looks so stuoid. lol

  • @TheBuddha92 : way to spell "stupid"

  • haha, i really sucked at this game!

  • E.P.I.C

  • i still have this game! awesome! i was crazy about it

  • What an awesome game, just epic!

Nintendo should release epic games like this on its Wii Virtual Console

  • @Skyline0014: I heard the SNES version was much inferior to the PC version, so you probably want to change that.

  • @marioluigi1983

I mean... if they have TurboGrafx 16 and Genesis games... why they don't release MS-DOS Games? It can be because MS-DOS is part of Microsoft, and they only release DOS Games to Xbox 360

I've played the SNES Version, it isn't bad, is pretty cool, but i didn't liked the music... but yeah... is pretty cool, and has lots of stages... i got lost in one with some sort of "Warp-Doors"

  • @marioluigi1983

    WiiWare then.

  • so fuckingly epic, they don't make games like these nowadays

  • @0428733

except the other prince of persia games

  • @0428733 yeah they do, they're called the sands of time and two thrones (warrior within wasn't as good)

  • Nah, too easy. Plus they just don't have the magic the magic the first 2 games did.

  • @elbryan42 are you kidding? Well Two Thrones didn't, but sands of time reminded me a lot of these games and added it's own sort of magic.

  • @0428733 They tried with the PoP versions for PS2, but it wasn't the same thing

  • @0428733 yes they do check out metal gear solid 4 and uncharted 2 just to name a few!!!!!! its way too many classics today

  • @jessefeo Those games feel somehow different. I couldn't bring myself to finish MGS4, let alone replay it. oldscool games fet really timeless and people still play and replay them nowadays

  • @0428733 wow i have replayed MGS4 a couple of times and its one of the best... the storylines now are just so action packed and exciting like The Force Unleashed

  • @jessefeo It all comes down to a matter of taste then. I personally haven't found a game appealing since Riven on the PC.

  • i cant get past that boat plzz help me

  • i was play it and still have it :)

  • @SeanPaul382 best game ever played this series since i was 2 XD

  • i remember this old game prince when i was 8 - 9 years old :)

  • @3:17

    *slash* AHHHHHH-- *thwump*

    Awesome game.

  • So this man is actually a son of king from a destroyed homeland (or old capital). So he has his fate as prince of Persia. If it was just a poor boy and not a son of king, he would be killed...

  • LOVE THIS GAME

  • NOSTALGIA

  • i love the music of this game.

  • @AlitaAngel

Right but the Music of the original Dos PC Version is better. This version runs great with Dosbox.

  • Thats like more India than Persia. I can see the Taj Mahal at the beggining of the video.

  • Now that's an awesome remake: Almost like the original, just with (sometimes messed up) General-MIDI-music and better voice quality :)

  • POP and POP2 were the defining games of my childhood. I used to play em with my dad on a Macintosh Quadra (the Mac ports were definitely the best!)

I remember how disappointed I was when I found out there would be no POP3, instead just some 3D one. Ah well, call me old fashioned. I'm 19 and still run through these games for nostalgia's sake. Now there's a movie coming out and everything. Maybe that speaks to what these games meant to some.

  • @fizzlemagizzle The Mac version was cool, except you would start randomly losing life somewhere near Level 6 or so and from then on out. Glitch maybe?

  • @GerkIIDX Hah, never experienced that. Other than randomly losing life cause the levels got harder, heh..

  • Weird how the unlockable for POP1 was the Mac version, and the unlockable for POP2 was the PC version.

  • @fizzlemagizzle I loved the Sands of Time saga. They're awesome and give PoP a whole new level of awesome. However, the classic saga will always remain above all.

  • Wait, The Evil Magician's Laughing is Same One as Headless Horseman's Laughing From Disney Classics:The Banned Legend of Sleepy Hallow!

  • I could never get past the first enemy

  • Now THAT is suspense! I think POP was the only platformer where the actual levels were designed to be suspenseful rather than just a challenge.

  • I used to play this with my dad when i was 9

  • me too

  • @arslanbhutto the same story when i was 12)

  • I remember when I was about 7 years old playing this game.. I didn't know what I was doing but loved it haha..

  • best prince game ever

  • prince of persia games are my dream games when i was little i use to dream about all these things that a big palace and prince

  • Yea i was amazed by the good story telling and puzzles in this game.

  • Alright sequel - but the first level of this game is a classic in PC gaming.

  • i used to play this when i was 7 years old, and i remember if you went to the right away from the pier you would just die instantly and get beat up by a bunch of guys off screen, pretty funny

  • Dude u remember the old days when I used to play that game on DOS. Thanks for uploading it.

  • i remember those days too lolz

  • I remember when I played this game for the first time on DOS I was like "Look at those colours!" Never did I imagine computer games will reach the current state of glory... though I'm sure within few years what I think of as really cool will be pushed to being obsolete by other cool things.

  • Well, those graphics you are talking about exist! Search Assassins Creed 2 and Prorotype trailers and you will see. Allso, search the video Nvidia`s Human Head Demo.

  • Yeah I'm excited about AC2. But I'm sure something else will supersede it later. (in terms of graphics)

  • how do you hang to the ship??i tried it a lot of times,i alwayf fall downm in the water, despite it seems its very close to hang

  • you hold down whatever the "hold onto ledge" button is, on PC it's shift

  • the first sequence of jumping out of the glass window and fighting off palace soldiers followed by eventually jumping onto a ship is fucking epic. the gameplay is amazing too. games nowadays have unbelievable graphics but such shit gameplay. it's a shame. i haven't even played video games in so long.

  • This is the one of the greatest DOS games ever.

  • Good times, but the Sands of Time trilogy is better :)

  • I love this game, i've played the first one too (but after i managed this one.. :P)

  • wow! i played this!! prince is the game!! were i can get it? someone knows?

  • The easiest way is to track down a copy of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time for the XBox. I see it all over the place in bargain bins. I've also seen CD versions of POP1 and POP2 for the PC on EBay.

  • @elbryan42

i got this game on snes can you tell me how to do those jumps coz when i do the jump he just falls down

  • The SNES version's very glitchy. Couldn't tell you. I rented it once back in the day, took it back in disgust. I believe I even asked for my money back for the rental.

  • @elbryan42

lmao serious it was that bad

i got it on my snes emulator on touch but soo annoying i cant jump haha

  • Only Titus can take one of the best games of all time and port it to one of the best systems of all time, and release this crappy thing.

  • I can't hear your voiceover.

  • What voiceover?

  • hey I played this! ha ha

  • This is pretty awesome !!! :D

I played this when I was 12, when it came out.

I even remember one of the saves I did: French soldiers.

I love hitting on the guards and they fall of the buildings:Aaaaaah!!!

I also like how in the beginning, the narrator tells a little of the first Prince of Persia: how the man escaped and struck dont the evil magician.

  • which prince of persia do you find the most difficult?

  • Dunno, I find them all quite easy when you know what to do. The early ones were basic, and the new ones are too forgiving.

  • i like this game too

  • one of my old favorite games!(i was always dying against the skeletons)

  • i was always calling my dad to fight against skeletons lol. i knew they would send me to my origins :P

  • Haha, it was exactly the same for me.

  • It is extremely difficult. If a game like that came out today it wouldn't be so popular. Children nowdays only want to bash buttons and have infinite continuous. And of course it is not their fault.

  • it is not so difficult if you get used the prince of 1.I mean the prince in white clothes.

  • I even couldnt get on the ship when i was young. Extremely difficult, but still a great game.
