i saw him perform this is at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Outdoors, under the stars--it was amazing. I brought a bottle of wine and was with my best friends. i remember thinking that it was the best thing i had ever heard. It was spiritual
This song, in my opinion, is the emotional equal of I am... I said, and probably the most heartfelt song Neil has written in 35 years. It is a fantastic new ending to his live concerts. It encapsulates for many longtime fans what this incredibly talented man has meant to us. I can't think of another instance where a songwriter has penned his own epitaph in song. Brilliant. Bravo, Neil!
Thanks for posting, I loved this song before but at the concert in Köln it became one of my all time favorites, 5*. As Froy2 said: the best ending of his show ever.
I saw a lot of live acts, but hell yeah (seen in Cologne Germany 2 month before) was one of the most stirring performances I ever saw. Tomorrow I will see a live act of Chris de Burgh, a great artist too. His concerts always end with "snows of New york", a very emotional song too. And like CdB N.Diamond becomes older and older, but better and better! Who-the f....-needs Britney Spears, Amy Whinehouse, Robbie Williams and all the other drug-dependent "great artist"!? Many thanks for this Video!
Live DVD coming out next month titled Hot August Nights NYC! Cannot wait.
