I imagine the problem was your hard drive could have software to data mine the game and ANet didn't want to take that chance. The direct cam footage that Wartower used seems to work directly from the camera from what I understand.
Curious on the intervening Dynamic Events. Did they feel worth doing, that you didn't have to get the boss to spawn in order to "get to the good stuff"?
And what did your brother think about the gameplay? Did he find it easy to get into? Did playing the GW2 Warrior meet his expectations on how a Warrior class should play?

The fail here is ANet not having a clear policy towards direct feeds, especially after so many demos have been held and doubtless many fans asking the officers that very question.

Those other "professionals" might have sponsors and get paid of their very short 2-3 minute videos, but your channel stands out from theirs based on your passion for the game, you knowledge of the lore and your commitment to the game. It shows! All those that watch your work appreciate that you take time to do these videos. Can't wait to see what your GW2 videos looks. 2012 is not far away. We can wait :)

Thanks! The problem with what you're asking is that i've been constantly using different builds and teams. Most of these videos have just relied on the henchmen anyway!

I'm sorry that you were unable to get footage wooden. Sometimes life offers disappointing barriers that you can't overcome. I'm getting excited about GW 2, especially after watching your 60 reasons. It sucks, but is completely understandable. No offense to you, you've made some awesome videos and stuff. But if they started allowing people who are not professional gaming journalists to start direct capturing footage they would have to do it for everyone and that's just not feasible. Wartower is a well known media outlet that can reach a large amount of players. Not even Totalbiscuit got direct feed footage when he was at gamescom so it's really not surprising.
Eh... yeah I kind of see what you mean, it would be a big pain in the arse if everyone thought they could just bring along their hardrives and plug them in (easy for people with malicious stuff to slip through the cracks).

About the moving when using 1-10 keys, personally I'm thinking of just investing in a Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse before gw2 comes out, it might be worth it! But a clever new keybind might do the trick as well.
This red tape-type scenario is really messed up. Colin basically said OK if the IT said OK which they did, then Martin comes along, questions it all and pulls the plug. What does he gain from keeping you from having great demo footage? What does he lose if you had great footage? Nothing to both.
Oh and I think I must of been stood next to you playing one of the other machines as I saw the same guy recording someones game with a professional cam etc :)

I agree on the controls, I spent my first 20 minutes trying to get the controls right. But once you've got them grasped damn is it fun!

I played the demo, and I had the exact same problem. I couldn't use 1-0 numbers and use wasd to save my life. it was so difficult D:
