Smooth in Fast out, always makes for better lap times. Set the car up before you hit the corner. Might feel like your going slower till you get used to it, but set the car up right into the corner and you can power out alot earlier. Not the best track though for a caterham. Wet prob didnt help. Would say suspension setup would be the biggest factor in this case with the understeer it seems to suffer. Hard to drive smooth when you driving an out of control missile.
Take outside line toward the bend - brake before, accelerate through. That reminds me of when I was learning to drive and I did the same thing in my ford fiesta :)
Road being so bloody narrow doesn't help much though I bet.
LOL. in america 99% of them drive in those stupid automatics. They are too lazy or either too dump to learn how to shift properly. Here in holland, we HATE auto's! we prefer to drive a stick. Also, we change gears with our right hand. Its just what you are learned, and what country you live in.
Totally agree, the only people I know that drive automatics are disabled. Also if you do your test here in an automatic your only aloud to drive an automatic car, you don't get a proper drivers license which is why I don't think yanks should be aloud t drive over here!
Hmm, looked a bit clenched during the run. Far too much work on the steering wheel, you should try to clam yourself down a bit while driving. Rest is good :)
And soeedymonkey, the finish is by the last tree about 100m before he raised the visor. Look out for the white boards either side of the track. Herb - we dont use yellow flags in hillclimbing, just red. You probably saw the chequered flag boards at the finish.
FYI, fluffed the start (wrong gear off the line?) then locked up into first corner, recovered well, but at Loton the time had been lost by then, even though the rest of the run looked good. Were talking 100ths of a second making all the difference in hillclimbing. Never mind, theres always next time!
great driving skill there, blimy that thing was obviously VERY quick!!!
excuse my noobness, but what went wrong? Why were you unhappy? did you miss a turn or somethnig, i couldnt see anything wrong with the clip, looked all good to me!?
