  • Awsome, id buy one if they were chambered in 7.62x39mm, similar to the kurz, powerful and readily avaliable. Having this bad boy in 22.LR is like having a semi with a lawn mower engine in it.

  • Meh. Looks like cast aluminum. Might as well have made it out of cast plastic. Probably looks OK from across the room, but for that I would whittle one out of wood and stick in a 10/22 or AK22

  • I agree with what most are saying here about having centerfire version in 7.62, but this is the only STG44 replica firearm that I know of.

  • Anyone no if the stg is MA compliant? If not can you tell why. Thanks!

  • Nice.. now if only I could get one in 7.92x33 if someone built one and marketed it properly ammo manufacturers would start making the ammo.

  • @LifeisGood762

These days, it would be more likely that they'd build it around 7.62x39 rather than the original cartridge.

  • @hobofactory Yeah, that's true, but I think for most people the original configuration would be more attractive. If I wanted a 7.62x39 I would buy an AK, if I want an STG-44 I want it in 7.92. To each their own though, I'm sure a 7.62 STG would sell well.

  • @LifeisGood762

There may be a market for the StG in 7.92, but I would think the 7.62 would probably be more popular with the way things are at present. 7.62x39 is by far easier to find, the Russian round sells for one-third the price, and it's ballistically superior too! It would allow the StG to use the same action and very closely replicate the feel of firing an original StG, all at a fraction of the cost.

  • @hobofactory But, then if you want non original you might as well get this one. Even less money. If I got a non original caliber, it would be .22. If I want a centerfire I want it to be as original as possible. I'm just angry we can't own even this .22 version in full auto.

  • @LifeisGood762 The problem with this one (the .22) is that you don't the same action, and it certainly feels and sounds nothing like the original. We'd have to agree an StG replica would be a less practical gun than say an AK. It weighs 3lb's more, shoots a weaker round that sells for 3x the price, no accessories exist, and would likely cost more than most AK types. I dunno that novelty/cool factor is enough to sell many examples of a gun that would likely cost $1000+

  • @LifeisGood762

the 7.62x39 round and 7.92 short rounds are very similar in dimensions.

  • @Perseiden2 Yes, I know.

  • 8 pounds? maybe it's made out of real steel? aluminum?

  • Ill buy it and then change the barrel so it can fire a bigger round like normal round, 7.92x33 Kurz or 5.56x54 Nato

  • @ShadowNick5 It will take much-much more work to accomplish that than swapping out the barrel. Perhaps if there is enough interest in this rifle someone will come to market with a center fire version. I keep hoping that will happen.

  • @Sturmgewehre there is a company named HZA Kulmbach GmbH check out their website i promise you will like what you see ;)

  • Well I'm not getting one, damn canadian government!

  • I know it was definitely one of the cooler things I saw at the show. Some people might doubt that they will sell. But I bet they will sell plenty. Its solid unlike the gsg mp5 clones and its a design plenty of collectors and ww2 enthusiasts would like to play with.

  • Thumbs up for the cowboys in the background

  • What the hell are you talking about? You want it in original caliber? So tell me Mister "meh, .22 I want og. Caliber" where you gonna buy that ammunition?

  • @ImAwesomeSauce1 They should've at least chambered it in 5.56 or 7.62 NATO, I wouldn't want to spend $600 for an 8- pound plinking gun.

  • @theTicklemehellmo The MSRP is $600 which means it will be well below $500. The Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 is around there and they sell like hot cakes. I don't think everyone agrees with you.

  • @ImAwesomeSauce1 The reason why the M&P 15-22 is popular is because you can buy just the .22lr upper, in which you can attach to your regular 5.56 AR. This makes it much cheaper and easier to shoot.

But in this case, It is an 8- pound rifle that cannot be really used for anything else than plinking.

  • @ImAwesomeSauce1: Friend, 7.92×33mm Kurz are still manufactured and available by Prvi Partizan ammunition for about $13 a box of 20. Sadly Hornady recently discontinued but they are somewhat still available through places on the net, as well as others.

  • @kneverr Really? I never knew. What modern guns shoot the 7.92x33mm round? As what gun would you shoot it in? I defiantly wouldn't wanna shoot an original STG-44 considering I barely wanted to touch one at a gun show. LOL

  • @ImAwesomeSauce1 There are no modern production firearms that fire 7.92×33mm Kurz. What gun do I shoot it in?; The StG-44, very fortunate to have grown-up with one. Why would you not want to shoot or touch an original, do you mean in order to preserve such a rare firearm? I respect such a notion but with the proper care, feel that they should be fully experienced when ever possible. They are extremely enjoyable to shoot and with a little training, a relatively controllable MG.

  • @kneverr Wow. That's crazy. I grew up with a M1A. :(

  • @kneverr a semiauto StG44 clone is being manufactured today. It uses 7.92x33mm. Google for "BD 44".

  • @werre2 except its not being imported into the US

  • @ImAwesomeSauce1 i would of loved to handle such a rare gun, and nothing fires that cal that i know of.

  • @Nikolai553 I held one, it oozes nostalgia. :D lol

  • @Nikolai553 Wait, what? The M1A is the civilian version of the M14, and it shoots the .308/ 7.62x51 round.

That type of round is still manufactured by hundreds of companies, and is still used in firearms such as the M40/M24 sniper rifle, Mk14 Designated Marksman Rifle, PSG-1 sniper rifle, and of course the M14.

  • They made a Stugm Gewehr.. in 22lr D: I am deeply dissapointed they changed the calibier, it was the first intermediate cartidge assault rifle.. not a plinking rifle..

  • Tell GSG to make their AK 22 with the same quality as that rifle.

  • Sick!

  • wow that's pretty cool! STG 44 was not joke even if its .22LR. I am sure that be a great shooting rifle. Now ask CSG to start making the real ones again that be great :)

  • I came.

  • Perfect for the rich video game kids.

  • oooh STG 44 rifle :)...aw 22 lr... :(

  • A dream gun that I can afford in a caliber that I can afford to shoot! Why are people complaining?

Enjoy it for what it is, and have at it. No can will be safe when these are released :D

  • Somebody should make a Sturmgewehr chambered in 7.62x39 or 5.45 or something.

It'd be almost the same as the 8mmK, and a lot cheaper to shoot.

  • @DanTheVikingr Or how about 7.62x51 which would be closer to the original German 7.92x33, no way I'm paying $600 for a .22LR, HOW LAME!!!

  • @Crimble67

Well, there are some STG clones out there, PTR imported some...if you don't mind $4,000 or so. Oh you dod? Well get a real one, $20,000 ok?

Yea, $600, put it in perspective to the cost to produce them. Yes, they are niche, if you want a functional "assualt rifle" at that cost, get yourself some pos wasr.

  • @SeppLainer I'd pay up to $1,000 for a modern reproduction chambered in 7.62x39. I think that would be AWESOME! I have a Ruger 10/22 for plinking, cost less than $300! But someone would reproduce that rifle chambered in a REAL rifle cartridge they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough, but in .22lr - FAIL!!!

  • @Crimble67

Not really... GSG is known for one thing... .22s.

I'd be awfully afraid to purchase a full size rifle from them...

  • @SeppLainer From any reputable manufacturer, not just GSG, in fact, I've never even heard of them. I mean if ANY manufacturer would come out with a replica chambered in a real rifle round I would buy it.

  • @Crimble67

As I said, PTR imported german made STG replicas. I think they were all 7,92, but hornady does make them for $15/box. The rifle is upwards of $4,000. Eat your heart out.

  • @SeppLainer Yeah, I wouldn't pay $4,000 for that. I think $1,000 maybe $1,500 would be a fair price.

  • @Crimble67

So you are lacking any rationale understanding of production costs and overhead to make a niche replica rifle with low sales? Things have a price for a reason.

  • @SeppLainer They can charge whatever they want for it, I'm saying that "I" wouldn't pay more than $1,500 for it! Why does everything in the firearms world have to be so effing personal. $1,500 is double the price of your standard AK-47, I think that would be fair. $4,000 will get you one pimp ass sniper rifle with a HIGH end Leupold or Night Force scope sitting on top!

  • @Crimble67

No...they charge whatever leaves them a profit when it's over. If it costs $4,000, it is impossible that it costed $300 to make.

You cannot compare the production of an Ak to an STG, it just isn't compatible at all. Any joe blow can built an AK in his basement with a parts kit and a flat. It's really not hard, done it myself, and the materials needed are cheap.

Whereas with an STG, we are talking about something that was produced in small numbers 68 years ago.

  • @SeppLainer O.K., so they can produce an STG chambered in .22LR and sell it for a profit for $600 but they have to sell the one chambered in 7.92 for $4,000 to make a profit, a difference of $3,400?!?!? Nah, not buying it at all, yes, pun intended! - LOL

  • @Crimble67

Ugh, yea. The .22 is not using "mil-spec" parts, and the tooling was proprietary, they do not use the real operating systems, and the receivers would never hold up to even intermediate rounds.

It is a functioning novelty in the most prolific "sporting" round, makes total sense, imho, and I think they will sell out of these quickly. They will be sold out at MSRP, and the price will come down.

P.S. I guess you bitch about Sig, H&K and Colt .22 replicas that cost almost as much?

  • @SeppLainer No, I don't bitch about Sig, H&K and Colt .22 replicas because I don't want any of those guns! - LOL In the end, all I can say is that if somebody, ANYBODY reputable would come out with a high quality Stg 44 replica chambered in 7.62x39 priced around $1,500 or less the demand would be so friggin high they wouldn't be able to make them fast enough! I'd buy two, one to shoot and the other to frame and hang on the wall!

  • @Crimble67

Obnce again, production costs, distribution costs, demand, and quantity... Please, just stop already. You are not going to have a 7.62 STG for $1,500. Go get a CZ58.

Just keep ignoring what I've said and rattling off your shit, later.

  • @SeppLainer If LWRC or JP Rifles can offer an AR-15 for $1,500 someone could make an Stg 44 for that amount. I'm darn sure of it! - Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • @Crimble67

Are you kidding?: You can build quality ARs for 6 or 7 hundred, LWRC and BCM specialize in over engineering a simple and mass produced firearm that has been copied and cloned since the beginning...

Again, you are ignoring initial production costs, supply, demand, marketing, and distribution.

NO ONE can make an STG44 for $1,500 and sell them yet...maybe in 10 years you can have your wetdream... All the plans and tooling are 70 years old and in germany...

  • @SeppLainer Hell, I built my Mega .308 with the 18" DPMS SASS barrel, PRS stock and Daniel Defense free float fore end for $1,700!

  • @Crimble67

Yes, using current manufacture, mass produced parts. Congrats.

  • @Crimble67

    Siehe oben... frag "PTR"

    Bis Später...

  • @SeppLainer Shit, you can get an M1A these days for about $1,600!

  • @Crimble67

They are only $1,200 or so You are completely ignoring or underestimating what I am trying to get across to you. It is not simple, easy, nor cheap, to begin production of a unique and niche firearm that was created and lost 60 odd years ago, with little tooling, and information available on their manufacture.

An american company would need to buy the tooling and aquire new parts here in the states. A very costly investment that could mean $1,500 STGs in about 5 or 6 years

  • @SeppLainer

At the most...but it could happen. PTR showed interest in the design, maybe one day they could buy the tooling and get them going, but thier imported rifles had some issues, but PTR could work them out. They did an amazing job on the HK G3 /91 and offered at 1/3rd the price...so it is possible, but it would be a huge financial undertaking to get ahold of that material and historical tooling and plans. They could though, they moved most of their production in house...

  • @SeppLainer Ron Paul 2012!

  • @Crimble67

    Agreed, Ron Paul. :p

  • @DanTheVikingr Brain malfunction, you're right, 7.62x39 makes more sense! Nut still, HOW LAME!!! - LOL

  • That is one sweet looking rifle, should have known you'd go check out your channel's namesake. It looks really close to the original, of course I've only seen pictures on documentaries of WWII. Very excited about this one. Thanks for this preview!

  • Did they have the MP40 there?

  • Thanks for all the reviews. Will be looking forward to seeing you wring it out back at your Undisclosed Location.

  • Dear Santa....

  • Why would it be a toy in the first place? If its because its a .22 then you should still treat it like a gun, because a .22 can kill.

  • Thats pretty close to the top of my list now

  • you really have some great videos, thank you for taking the time and putting in the work for all that you do. I very much enjoy your videos!

  • That looks SICK!

  • Holds 10 rounds! CA gun enthusiasts rejoice!!

  • wish they made a larger common caliber version.. 7.92 kurz isnt real easy to come by..

  • PTR-91 was importing an actual semi-auto version of the STG-44 in 7.92mm a few years ago. They were very expensive. Heard they had reliability issues as well.

  • this is a gun i would like to have.

  • that looks fun as hell

  • If it was a larger ammo, I would get one. .22?; no thanks.

  • I want one but dont wanna wait :(

I want real one to :(

heres hoping someone makes one in a centerfire version, the mp40 as well.

to many guns, so little time, and money, and money again.

  • what about the gsg mp40

  • Oh man I can't wait! Thanks for the videos from shot!

  • Sweet. 10 round mag = Commiefornia legal.

Yay for rimfire exemptions to the "assault weapons" ban!

  • @Levetti408 :O I'm telling hickock45!

  • Thanks for not saying it's a fun little gun.

  • Thanks Sturmgewehre! I'm smiling, but my wallet's groaning!

  • I laugh how he says if you're familiar with a regular Stg-44. yea i doubt any of us own a 5,000 dollar gun.

  • i think ur gonna have to buy one.. haha

  • WTF, a Cowboy?

  • Good to see you w/ the gun your chanel is named after. Looks Like you're having fun, take care.

  • I am going to get me one. :D

  • I WANT ONE!!!!1

  • @adobo777

RON PAUL 2012 END AFFIRMATIVE ACTION !

  • That's siiiicckkk!!

  • I want one

  • I really wish they would make re-productions in a modern intermediate catridge such as 7.62x39, or 5.56etc it would be so cool to have a modern version of the very first assault rifle ever!

  • i want on of those and the Beretta 22 version of their assault rifle

  • Why are STG44s and MP40s not reproduced?

  • @ikari2000 They are. Here in germany there are beeing sold as the BD44 and the BD38/40, both are Semi-Auto and both are not exactly cheap

  • i want it in a russian caliber. 545 or 762

  • @nejinaji

why? the original sturmgewehr is German

  • @Fudoh1 i know, but the original caliber was still closer to the 7.62 so id want it close to the original caliber with the benefit of commonality.

  • They have to make one in .22 magnum, Pretty Please GSG. With a cherry on top!

  • @harpoclarx I have two 1911-.22's, Sig but built by GSG. They are great fun, if this gun is that good, then I will have to look into one, thank you.

  • How heavy is that gun?

  • normally im not a fan of 22 anything but i want this. if only they made it in 556 or 22 mag

  • Great vid as always. Watch out for the cowboy at 1:13!

  • @wubaru Yeah that cowpoke looked like he had it in for him.

  • Gimme gimme gimme gimme!

  • awesome....I cant wait till these hit the market. GSG is one hell of a company!

  • Here's hoping that you stopped and shot video at LWRC for your viewers! I fondled the SPR at the booth for AWHILE!!!

  • @MARINE1146 I do have a LWRC video to upload. I'll get it up this weekend.

  • WHOA! :O

    That's AWESOME man!

  • it would be cool if they made that in 223/5.56 right ?

  • @MrSNIPERRecon yea i hope they make it in 7.62x39 or 5.45x39

  • @MrSNIPERRecon .. After 30+ yrs with the 1911 (.45); I've became a Sig .357 fanatic. To me it's a magical, do it all round.

  • @MrSNIPERRecon It would have made alot more sense if they would have just came out with one chambered in the original caliber and one in 7.62x39 first.

  • @MrSNIPERRecon I'd rather have it in 7.62x39 as its closer to the original round :)

  • @MrSNIPERRecon id prefer 7.62 to 5.56, would be more similar to the original 7.92 caliber

  • I would like a review of that when it comes out!

  • @desertdunebuggy I'll do my best to get my hands on one for a shooting review as soon as they're available.

  • I WANT!!!!!

  • I am getting that fo sho

  • i'd rather just buy a wasr 10/63 for 450

  • @werno175 That gun has nothing in common with this one. Your comment is completely irrelevant.

  • @werno175 <--- Kalashnophile. Cant see the world, Mikhail's scrotum is covering your eyes.

  • 1:18 ...willie nelson?

  • STG - Sturmgewehre ; is that where your channel name comes from? :D

  • DO WANT!!

  • I'd be more interested if it was chambered in something closer to the original round, like the 7.62x39.

  • great value, rifle felt very solid in the hand and the box is great(why no shots of thats?). i was surprised to not see the .22lr mp40 there with it though

  • If your used to the original. lol

  • stg 44 was used in WWll

  • Ok....pant's just got a bit tighter...

  • YES YES YES DO WANT

  • Very Cool!
