The wall on the border with Mexico is supposed to stop illegal immigrants to come in without visa, nobody is shot. Otherwise, people that live in USA can leave whenever they like. You have a door at your home to stop unwanted people to come in, but this door does not mean that you cannot get out.

Many East Germans wanted a more free and open political process in the GDR but still enjoyed the socialistic economy and way of life. Many people here assumed that Berlin was on the border between East and West Germany - leading to confusion about the reason for the wall. it was the most inspiring thing i ever saw in my life...

it was a drastic change for many people, some had trouble adapting to the new ways, even today...

but the lesson to be learned here is that we all can solve our differences, and one day every single one of this stupid walls, either in this phisycal world or in the mind of every human being , can be demolished.
