  • mine finishes booting up a the time of 40 seconds, but then again i have alot of shit on it.

  • "nothing inside" macbook air.

  • The SSD i7 Edge with Windows Startup Page bypassed boots in like, 3 seconds.

  • They are two completely different fucking computers. Who ever thought that was a fair comparison, you're a fucking moron.

  • @LinuxSwag Umad?

  • LOL LISTEN TO ALL THOSE NERDS

its just a fucking compute, who cares

  • @efsq Says the person using a computer to type this comment...

  • @efsq dude its for 10 thousand dollars of corse they are going to care

  • @lukeee117

nah, i understand the competitors care....but the public, who gives a shit?

  • @efsq i guess you're right. they are both fast.

  • BIG FAT LIE !!!! ... I bought a lenovo laptop with the Enhanced Experience 2.0 and did not work like that !!!!! .... I repeat, did not turn on like that ! ... never !!! .... there was one time when it took it like 1.5 min. COME ON !!!! ... Of course I already dump that laptop ! ... BUY SOMETHING ELSE PEOPLE

  • @Bryan0211 I have one. Slowest time is 30 seconds on average 20 seconds. Wonder how they boot that fast here. Must have very little programs installed.

  • Price of Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420s = $600

    Macbook Air = $999

The face of a disappointed man who thought he could win $10,000 = priceless

  • LIER!

  • MacBook air is faster they just but alot of stuff on it

  • Is that thinkpad HDD or SSD?

  • @staffersteward Some models are solid-state.

  • @staffersteward ssd for sure

  • So this is the only excuse that Microsoft is better than apple?

  • @1loudninja For a long time this was all apple users had to claim they'd made the right customer choice ....this is just showing that even that claim is gone. ....did you not hear the crowd hissing when he said he had a macbook? It was the direct competition ....lenovo won ....suck it up.

  • @temporaldisplacement Um, right my Mac book pro is totally not worth it. You know this lenovo thing, ya it pretty much just converted me. I can now power up 2 seconds faster than my other computer. Ya my mac can't protect against shit, so when I power up it is 2 seconds slower than lenovo, dang it. Hopefully when I convert my product will totally not slow down at all, you know. Because their computers by themselves protect against everything and are kick ass. GO LENOVO

    -p.s. FUCK OFF

  • @1loudninja Two words: Mac-fag.

  • @temporaldisplacement I resent myself for lowering the tone. None the less ....boot-time is mac's hallmark ...and they are beaten .....and if your mac is really secure then you must already have the mac-defender app. ;)

  • @temporaldisplacement Two words: Poor-Ass

  • @1loudninja Bought and sold ass.

  • @temporaldisplacement

    Bought and sold?

  • @1loudninja Sound to me like apple bought your undying commitment and sold you up the river on iTunes for 99cents -30% comission to themselfs. Choosing to buy a MS-Dos driven machine doesn't make me poor, I was looking at some we-build-from-a-huge-catalogue-of-componants websites recently and was looking to buy a £850 machine with specs that would blow every mac* out of the water ...also here in the UK apple's EULA doesn't apply; there is only a u-e-agreement here which means ...I can use OSX.

  • @temporaldisplacement

It's true I am a die hard apple fan but only because their products are actually worth the buy. You yourself just stated your brand new computer will be running on OSX (btw Lion or leopard?), and your product will include additional accessories that are recommended, if you want a life span of 5 years for your computer. Trully I've never used a Lenovo, but I'm sure apple will make an even faster computer.

  • @1loudninja Can and Will are two very different words. I bought a Lenovo G530 recently and I am 'chuffed to bits' with it ....and that is not a EE or EE2.0 laptop. There are no recommended accesories when you build or have built a computer from a list of componants. And my E-system that I'm on right now is 10 years old. Yes I hope apple makes an even faster computer because I want strong competition in this ...which is why apples profit margin angers me; Compaq brought comp's to every home.

  • @temporaldisplacement Good job, caught me off guard. Apple can make a better product. First they already made bank, giving them enough money to keep funding further research. Second they have time, because their products are so god damn reliable and advance,( and they're not cheap) they don't have to quench our thirst for technology. In my book Apple will always be the hero so "admire the protagonist, an early bloomer, and annihilator of the stock market"

  • @1loudninja And indited in a class action lawsuit for monopolising. :I

  • @temporaldisplacement

What do you think happened with Microsoft Office? Completely destroyed apple in the beginning, but hey thats capitalism for ya. PLEASE STOP REPLYING AND GO HAVE TEA TIME!!!!

  • @temporaldisplacement Think about it. Apple will probably make a new product, and all of the minor accessories will be all of those present on your laptop ( water proof, boot up, etc.). Remember Microsoft was never about quality, but about quantity. They're going to release another one next year, and it's going to go on forever until your product's software is to old (5 year life span). Just buy an apple pro for yourself, long term, it's the better buy.

  • @1loudninja The long-term is why I use an operating system that has legends ...so I can use software from ANY generation while apple-macs have almost zero backwards compatability with thier own software ...its all very well having MS-office but maybie (for example) there's tools in PSP1.5 that just don't exist in any more modern software package. #1 rule for OS' "....only upgrade when you have no choice." - taken from the big book of smart things japanese people have said.

  • @temporaldisplacement That's where you're wrong. It's backwards, Apple never throws things out of their computers, and microsoft isn't compatible with many products which it, itself created because of their greed. Apple makes sure all of it's products are still usable. One example would be the first generation Ipods, all of their operating systems for Itunes are evolved forms that are compatible with new and old versions with many old skill sets still imprinted.

  • @1loudninja can OX1-2-3-4 run a macbook-pro ....no. zero backwards compatabilty. Its an entirely different processing architecture and chipset with no emu-ware that can fully bridge the gap. While I can run 3.11 from dosbox or xp from virtual machine on one computer while booting into either Ubuntu or Fedora from a thumb-drive on the another. "many" is not comprehensive ....I want comprehensive backwards compatabilty which you only get from a non-mac. "...thats just how I roll."

  • @temporaldisplacement Which is one of the reasons Microsoft will never evolve. New products means upgrading the software. When microsoft first started their goal was to put one computer in every home. Modifying the software will make the price go up closing the doors for many. Which is also one reason why microsoft never wanted to give Microsoft office to apple. I mean even their gaming system runs like their computers.

  • @1loudninja Give/Sell. Price up??? my G530 cost £200 / $316.32. It has a dvd/rw, win7, 160GB HDD, 1GB of DDR2, x2 USB 2.0, webcam on par with the macbook and most importantly unlike a mac it doesn't have the "the colours just pop - untill you send it to a printer - screen". Near on everything your mac can do my lenovo can do better, and certainly anything worthwhile. Anyway this conversation is going nowhere ....I've got code to write, 3D worlds to build and a joint to smoke. Ciao.

  • Ok... So a modified Windows install beat a standard OS X install by about a second in boot times?

All that says to me is that Windows boots up slow as hell and has to be modified to boot quickly.

  • but the question is what you can do after the bootup

  • @TheMohsell play tons of games which are unavailable on mac :P

  • Still can't beat coreboot+linux.

  • 5 people paid too much for their Macbook Air.

  • @highspeedhamish I think you're wrong,9 people paid too much for their crappy Macbook ;)

  • yeah maybe they said lenovo faster than Apple, but the best is the largest consumer choice..

  • @kevendyvy which is windows not mac

  • I don't believe the consumer model will do this.

  • girls are stupid. lol

  • That's actually a really smart idea, using a SSD for bootup but using a HDD for storage. As usual Lenovo has the more useful product but Apple has the cool one.

  • @Exult sadly it is not set up that way, that would make absolute sense. It is set up as some kind of "hybrid" drive in which win7 sees both the HDD and the SSD as one drive. I wish it worked like they advertise.

  • The girl wont.... She push the button first... LOL

  • that was close, maybe if changing boot up things like in the thinkpad

  • that was fast :)
