  • His hands are shaking... ALOT

  • Thank you for this video. I really appreciate this.

  • How long did the patient live following this surgery? What other therapies were used?

  • Sir, I have seen your video many times.I learned from your video. I am owe to you. This video helped me a lot.The Lord's blessing will remain upon you.I am a neurosurgeon, but I never seen like this live operati on before.Though I am very devoted t my profession but our way is not smooth. still I have to work without microscope, only a loop and lastly endoscope and ultrasonography machine are my tools. Thanks from my heart, Dr. Farid, Neurosurgeon, Bangladesh

  • @faridulful you r more than welcome :-)

  • how long does it take for a meningioma thats a standard procedure to be removed?

this one i see you say took 2hours,was it a meningioma initial stage?

  • How did you close the dura? that looked like a good dural closure which is usually challenging in these type of cases.

Did you leave any tumour on the any of the cranial nerves to avoid injuring them? or you achieved gross total resection?

    good video!

  • Dude. Doesnt gross you out? lol...

  • Thanks for the video, and thanks a lot for the labeling. God Bless :)

  • Did you use intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring in this case?

  • This is just amazing!

  • why was this done exactly?

  • I had a larger meningioma tumor removed (cerebellor-pontine angle, was also wrapped around the carotid artery and spinal cord) my surg; was 13 hours. Haven't had the heart to see a video, but watched this . Thanks

  • Shouldn't he have used blood thinner to prevent those clots? Bad bad bad!

  • @KXMoon

Used a blood thinner? Would you consider it wise to increase the clotting time during brain surgery?!

  • what makes up tumor tissue?

  • In this case it was nerve cells supposedly that replicate spontaneously due to some problem in their DNA sequence that prevents normal cell replication and signals for cell death from acting normally.

  • what if you accidentaly cut those nerve.

  • You get a headache.

  • Whatever signals it carries or purposes it serves would cease to function. Rarely some small nerves may heal back together but otherwise will ramain severed always. In the case of an optic nerve, one would go blind in that eye.

  • Very good video

  • dr's have told my father it is not possible to remove a tumor from his brain stem(pons) is this true? I know its risky, but which surgeons are capable of trying it? thanks

  • My wife had her's taken out at the Cleveland Clinic one year ago. It was intertwined around the trigeminal nerve and pressing on the brain stem. Our Doctor was Doctor Sade'. We were very pleased with him and the Cleveland Clinic.

  • i'm a medicine student and your videos are really useful!

  • Excellent for a learner

  • Wow, how meningoma comes out without issues! What a great surgeon..

    Hats off

    What the size of meningoma?

  • suboccipital craniectomy - burr hole. isn't it???

  • Your work is amazing.

  • thank you :-)

  • thankyou so much lgawish

I want to be a neurosurgeon myself and am in the first year of a premed degree.

    This is very inspiring!!

  • Good video, i'm subscribing.

  • excelent video.

  • well you did a eticulous work microscopically to be greated for, though sometimes cpa meningomas do invade the arachinoid surrounding the cranial nerves so they are very difficult to remove depending on the pathological behaviour of the meningioma....congratulations

  • btw wat body part was dat?

  • infront of the right cerebellum and the brainstem begund the right ear

  • @Igawish i seriously have no idea what i am looking at but it just amazes me that people can perform such procedures

  • @Igawish Whoa... very risky place to be doing surgery, but it's impressive how well the surgeon maintained his/ her dexterity, that's very good. Regardless how plastic the cerebrum might be, plasticity in the brain stem has not been observed or reserached, so laceration of any degree can mount to fatality, especially in the pontine region and lower down the stock. maningiomas are rather rare, but horrible things.

  • i gonna b a surgeon so this really 2 watch a professional :D

  • I have a very close friend who is going to have this done to him, I hope he will be okay. (:

  • very good

  • Very good video.Being a doctor I m greatly impressed by this video.

  • great vid :)

how many hours did that procedure take?

  • nearly 2 and half hours

  • First, is this a semi-sitting or a park-bench position ?

Second, you are showing the current concept of skull base approaches is far long from the past "frankensteinly" desfigurating approaches ... you know.

Third, congratulations. Follow below suggest about posting audio comments for young neurosurgeons...
