So I am no Johnny Come Lately to Bob Marley and the Wailers. You want to know? ASK ME - markieraye14@yahoo.com. I was there right through to and after his death. I have studied the man and his music.

  • @johnnygee666. That is simply a metaphor...mind you this man was wise and full of parables. If you dont involve your thinking to the maximum you would just end with literal translation of his words, just like the words other wisemen. Explore about the exact meaning....ha ha ha the same to "trench town" track

  • It so fills my heart with joy, to see all you people who like me, love bob marley

VINTAGE MARLEY. No man that ever walked this Earth ever said it better. No man. Robert Nesta Marley's name is written in the Book of Life. Thank you Jah !!!

  • The lyrics "cold ground was my bed last night and rock was my pillow too", was originally used by Lightin' Hopkins in the song Mojo Hand.

  • cool song loved this song, maybe he read the bible,

  • Another rhythmically deep and emotional song. Pay attention to Aston "Familyman" Barrett string-bass line and see if I am lying to you...... Also Al Anderson's lead guitar at the beginning........

Robert Nesta Marley was unleashing the feeling of what one goes through in troubled times.

    RIP Mr. Robert Nesta Marley.

  • Story of my life: "I've been down on the rock for so long, I seem to wear a permanent screw".

  • i wanna sleep on Bob Marley's pillow. rest in peace my man

  • pff.. God I love Bob's music and vision on life.. And I recommend people to watch 'the jamaican tour guide' video (just search on jamaican tour guide). In this video the jamaican tour guide explains a little about the rock Bob is telling about in this song. It was Bob's favourite rock where he would sit, sleep, smoke and play some music. By the way, the video is really funny as well :D! Greetings from Holland!

  • @NayaAthome that video is fucking hilarious

  • he is simply talking about his hardship

  • no hes really talking about his fav spot that he would fall asleep smoking

  • i understad the lyric but how do u know he used to do that on real?

  • @johnnygee666 You are wrong, rock is a synonym for Jamaica, Jamaican people sometimes call this island "The Rock". He wants to mention that black people was brought as slaves and against their will to Jamaica, but after the time they learned to love it as their home and Jamaica always was a pillow for them giving which make you feeling that you are at home and in security. But yeah maybe additionally he wants to say how comfortable a rock could be. :)

  • @johnnygee666 bob marley was a great sound writer, but i think an old blues player actually wrote this tune. the twenties or thirties perhaps. i know i have heard these lyrics before on a very old recording, although i am not sure who it was.

  • @lilbill73 Bob Marley did write this song, "Cold ground was my bed last night And rock was my pillow, too" this is about a certain rock he would sit on to smoke, roll his joints, write his songs, sleep in the sun and practise reggae music. Don't believe me? type on the search bar "Jamaican tour guide" and see it for yourself

  • @TheOfficialBobMarley i know... But the Video u say is just so funny..

    Haaa haaaaa haaaaa haaaa haaaaa

This is how the world should be.. Laughing, smiling, having fun, don't care about stress and these stressed people in the world

    PEACE

  • @johnnygee666 so you seen the absurdly stoned jamaican tour guide video to then?

  • @johnnygee666 and meditate :)

  • @johnnygee666 he didn't write it ! but ok

  • @johnnygee666 I doubt this is the meaning of the song brother.

  • @johnnygee666 and you notice he don'tlight up as he roll his joint cause you gotta hae respec for those who smoke and those who don't so this what he say "SCUSE ME WHILE I LIGHT MY SPLIFF!"

  • @johnnygee666 I have rested my head on that rock at 9mile!!!

  • i love it,brilliant tune.

  • me 2
