LOL... siberian tigers EXCEED 650 pounds. i was giving an average estimate. male lions dont hunt often, they arent refined hunters. lioness do most of that work. male tigers fight just as much over territory and females. male lions are stubborn fighters, basically they're stupid animals. tigers will try to avoid a fight because that's smart, tigers are higher on the evolution scale. but when forced to fight, tigers will overpower any male lion.

HAHAHAHAH , you are making me laugh. Tigers sleep 20 hours a day and they avoid confrontations.The tiger hates the idea of a fight. As a lone predator, fighting for the tiger is an extremely bad idea and injury from a fight could spell starvation.
And btw all experts agree that lions are on top of the evolutiopn scale. Tigers avoid fights because they are pussy cats.

in fact, of the many records i have, i found there was little to no difference in termns of weight. likewise, i have many records of lion vs tiger confrontions, and lions were more often than not victorious. tigers are only slightly faster, and no stronger. a lion has a muscle mass of about 60%.......a tiger at eqal weight would have an equal amount of muscle mass.

great vid, schamah. even though the paw strike of the lion is stronger, this is not due to strength. the tiger has a greater proportion of fat, which increases overall mass, reducing the percentage of mass occupied by bone...hence a smaller skeleton. a slighter skeletal structure offers less resistance in terms of speed/agility. the lion, of greater bone density, is more 'weighed' down, and consequently slower in his movements. his thicker bones, with his larger paw size, means a stronger strike

The first one says what romans thought of tigers, they were cowards in rome, without the lions pluck or bravery, it says undeserved because, tigers are brave ect. but still there are more sources stating it is still less than the lion.
The next book says that a person who kills a lion compared to a man killing a tiger, the lion killer is rewarded more for how difficult it is so kill a lion, 100 years endulgence compared to 1,000 years for a lion killer

The lions have indeed more well developed muscles than a tiger, especially in their upper body. If you look at a lioness hunting, you can see her muscles extremely well. But don't say that tigers are just fat, because that is not very true. They can perform longer and higher leaps than lions because their lower body has more powerful muscles.
And it's just imposible for a 90 kg cougar to kill a 250 kg tiger. Be objective in your videos Schamah, that's the most important part. ;) Nice video.

look at the last picture , it shows a male african lion and a male bengal tiger , the african lion is much bigger but the tiger is still 20-40 punds heavier. And its true that Tigers are fat , especially the Siberian tiegr which lives in cold areas , without fat and thick fur they wouldnt be able to sourvive , but in warm areas their fat would be their handicap. A 500 pund lion tires after 100 yards. Imagine what would happen to a 500-650 pound Siberian Tiger.

Not necesarily. That depends on a lot of factors, such as correctly deposited Calcium and Phosphorus for instance. If the food and water offer enough of these elements to both cats, the tiger's bones will be slightly heavier because they are slightly bigger. Also think logicaly: a tiger is heavier than a lion, so it's bones have to support a bigger weight. That means the tiger's bones will be heavier.
Don't worry, I'm not a tiger fan. I like both cats very much, but lions much more. ;)

If you look at the clip, the cougar was submitting from the start. The bear did not continue with its attacks because it didn't want to waste energy in a fight against a mother protecting her cubs. That's why male bears also do not engage with female bears with cubs, although they have the power to kill them.
Also, look for a clip in which a much smaller black bear defeats a cougar.
