uhhhh an octopus wouldn't choose which food "box" to go into based on how "flashy" a flag is. it's not like the entire box is a different color or anything. he examines everything in front of him and whatever becomes most obvious first is what he'll go for. he's closest to the german box, or notices the handle on the german box first.
