Why can't the current lead singer Arnel Pineda sing this live and some of Journey's other hit songs live eg ''Mother Father'' instead of Deen Castronovo singing them live for him?

Neal Schon said Arnel Pineda has the most powerful voice live and the best vocal range of any lead singer for Journey.

Unyet Arnel Pineda can't sing certain Journey hit songs live that Steve Perry sang with no problem live.

Without their front men Journey just would have been just another average 80's bands. I lived in Hollywood then. When Steve joined they took off, the new talk of Hollywood and their concerts stood on their own, they didn't need to get Heart on the bill to draw. They should have let go of finding a another Steve, there is not one. So there new one gives then a little more fame, because of the front man. Journey should have went on with a new sound and stayed away from the Journey. thing.

going to see journey agian this summer this will be my third time seeing them with arnel i hope this time deen gets too sing bcuz he is unbelievable i never new and i have been a fan and followed journey for over 35 years sorry arnel but deen is so much better and he makes journey sound like journey.

Deen is truly Amazing here. With him singing and playing the drums lends to perfect timing of an outstanding vocal and percussion... and Deen is one of the best at both.

i'm also in a band, which in guitar side and does singing also..but when i saw the video of the journey concert with arnel p. , in manila last year..i was so very shock, impress with mr. deen castronovo..he was in drums and percussion, and also does singing..he's incredible...very awesome, talented and remarkable person...

one of my inspiration why i love instruments..' no one can stop ME!!!HE's my IDOL......

I don't know if anyone has mentioned the fact that Deen has double duty when he performs. Just thought I would put it out there.

I don't hate Arnel. It's not his fault that he was offered the job. I would have taken it.

I actually heard of the job opening and tried the mgmt. Co. who didn't handle the member change and a few friends of Neals who weren't talking.

Wish I was hated for parrotting Perry. hahah!!

Deen schools Arnel on singing this song. Deens tone, sense of melody, phrasing, and Perryisms are simply better than Arnels. Deen is having fun with this song and it shows.

I was at the Escape tour in Ventura fair grounds as a kid! After coming out of that concert i knew I had witnessed a one of a kind happening! As the years went on which I also realised that that tour and album would also be most likely the hight of Journey as a band, and what I had witnessed that night vocally from Perry would never be matched, even by himself! I had met steve when he did a song for the movie Tron called Only Solutions! I asked him why he sounded so gravely in that song!

And I quote He felt the movie wouldn't be a hit and he didn't want his name voice whatever associated with the flop! Steve's voice was changing bottom line! My point is this! Steve still had it as did the band when they did Trial by Fire, And as a friend I know how he can sing.And after hearing Deen sing I also know he would have been the closest yet too the reincarnation of Steve! Just listen to his voice inflection, the way he sings the words etc It is as if your listening to a Journey album!

Dean does an incredible rendition of this song, I think any singer that attempts to sing a Journey song will be compelled to sing it in Perry's style, it is a given, these are Journey's and Steve's songs, and their legacy to the music world!

AWESOME video! I was at both shows at the Borgata. Deen is actually my favorite singer. He sang "Higher Place" the night before too. Incredible.
