just great, another imac that could re-paired easily , gone! These computers are going to be hard to find some day, and i wonder why................... Oh wait!! we have dumb asses wanting to do fucked up shit with them. and don't start saying that it couldn't be re-paired or sold, these computers are wanted working or not working because there is people that could fix these computers in a heartbeat and save them from being destroyed and/ or in a landfill
I had to figure this out myself so I could remove the hard drive (it is dead). I am going to find a new hard drive. The rest of the unit works, so I will replace the dead hard drive, then give it to my iBrother (an Apple fan. I won't keep it myself because I'm a PC person). I found it earlier today in the trash.
i have one of those i wana freaking get out the F**KING hardrive with out destroying it but when i removed the bottom cover i was like wth!?Now what!?!
You should be careful when your messing around with the display tube. Those capacitors are upwards of 50,000 volts and can hold their charge for weeks.
I just took one of these apart, and I've taken apart some of the newer ones in the past, and there were fewer screws to remove on this one, at least to get out the motherboard tray. For me at least, fewer screws= easier.
I think this is much better than burning it, throwing it off a cliff, smashing it with a hammer, or pouring stuff all over it. The pieces will probably go to good use, rather than ending up in a junkyard.
That's so much fun to do... I have one of those, but it was broken broken (dropped), so me and my friend RIPPED it apart, literally, with a hammer and vice grips and everything. I still have the CRT tube sitting on my desk, because those things are so hard to get rid of, especially when they're not in a case. (I had an iMac DV orange).
It was never called "green"... it came in Bondi Blue, Tangerine, Strawberry, Grape, Lime, and Blueberry. Other notable colours are: Ruby, Indigo, Snow, Flower Power, Dalmatian, Graphite, and Sage.
Can i have it plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

starkist1480 2 years ago 2
Can You get electrocuted if its plugged into the mains ? :)
222apple222 2 years ago
CRTs can hold a load of electricity even after being unpluged, but I think there is a safe way to discharge that stored energy.
SlightyDisturbedNBK 2 years ago 2
Yes, so you shouldn't messing with those things.

I took apart a G3 once it is annoying as hell. But once it is done, you can do a lot with it.
