The sad thing is, I dont think this was the right time period for America to come to power. The Great nations that have come before have always been curious. Great Britain, Italy, Greece, Iraq, Egypt. They all asked questions first, shoot later. But America shoots first and askes questions later. If we make contact with extra-terrestrials while America is still in power...god help us all. I trully hope the next superpower will rise to power before we make contact...

Because I fear America (with its quite single minded attitude) would attack any alien being attempting to make contact. If they did that, they would doom the entire human race to utter destruction.

From what i have learned , they ARE in contact with alien ( negative connotations inferred ) forces .

These ' aliens ' , it seems , have been doing this for thousands of years .
