  • It was cool but it didn't show the liquid fuel tank falling off.

  • thumbs up if u knew that this lift off was in the youtube spacelab commercial!

  • Lassie cox sux cox

  • WTF? They shot it upside down?

  • @Benderrr111 The Space Shuttle launches like that. It orbits with the payload bay facing Earth.

  • This truly is one of the greatest achievements in engineering and science.

And to paraphrase Mr. Armstrong, "That's one small step for man, one giant explosion for mankind." ;)

  • I would love to watch this.

  • Commander Sheppard;

Meh, I've taken shits that travel faster than that!

  • Wow

  • with free trade, (slavery) our our new goods and services country no longer provides the accrued taxation required to fund our infrastructure

  • elon musk and obama are going to do the same thing with a black flying chicken, billions have been slotted with hundreds of millions already disbursed to elon the bankruptcy artist, what is this nation coming to ? ? ?

  • awesome achievement, but how much did we spend on that program ? What was achieved besides entertaining white trailer trash in Florida with something to watch..

  • @TheBrianbrk Really? Unimaginable spying capabilities..Laser weapons/ missle defense ect..ect..Do you really think it was just to play with ourselves?

  • this is one of the reasons why im proud to be a human, look at that piece of technology right there

  • NASA

  • planes

  • where does the rocket boostergo? does it just fall to earth at 1000mph and possibly commiting murder?

  • @AquaRipperX21 The two boosters parachute down to the Atlantic ocean just 150 miles off the Cape where they are recovered by ships waiting for them.

  • Fuck Obama. canceling one of the only things I didn't mind spending my tax dollars on.

  • @Chronicator10101 Amen brother. Fuck Obama, that piece of rotten shit.

  • @Dreaklock Sigh. You seriously think obama cancelled the shuttle program? Go do some research kid.

  • @Alexfor2002 what kind of obama P R Stunt are you trying to pull off. Russia has decided to end the space station, START also, while a new spaceplatform is being built, with military capabilities. The 8,500 scientific positions ended at NASA, which supported Constellation and Shuttle 2 are real. The science teams have moved on, its over, to resurrect it would take an enormous effort, besides batty soretoe, or whoever it/she is is already funding elon musk,

  • ahh the day's before Obama..

  • @jjcatful gtfo

  • @thomaskaaz1 what??Obama is shit..

  • @jjcatful that has nothing to do with this video. gtfo

  • @thomaskaaz1 It has everything to do with that shithole...

  • mute this video and open another youtube tab, search "another brick in the wall by pink floyd". wait until this video is at 47 seconds then play the pink floyd song... perfect example of what your mind does when you smoke pot.

  • click here for AtlasV mars explorer launch today

  • Look at 2:04 the star's light, the smoke of the fire everything is fine!

  • On the bird

  • I'am the all powerful grand overlord. This Shuttle launch indicates how powerful I'am

  • It was sad seeing the last landing of the space shuttle, RIP SPace shuttle :'(

  • wow

  • if you dislike a shuttle launch you are a jackass.

  • Pause at 0:00

    Open the audio from

    /watch?v=mZlVaAMsoM8&feature=BFa&list=HL1321169786&lf=mh_lolz

Watch the launch with the audio from the other video.

  • Dont fuckingg go to space its not safe thats whyy nasa has stopped theres things out there...creepy things..

  • @xXthePSPmasterXx Yeah, there are these carbon-based beings with deoxyribonucleic acid genetic instructions, which for some reason wilfully are destroying themselves and most other species on the largely iron, oxygen, silicon, and magnesium-based surface layer of their planet

  • 38 people didn't find a cutscene from portal 2

  • SPAAAACEEEEEEEE

  • i want to go in space... :( but that will never happen :(

  • @KuromiSon hey man dreams come true

  • @KuromiSon We'll be colonizing space in twenty years!

  • @KnoxSUX yay i'll still be young by then :DDDD

  • Every day I'm shuttlin'

  • Due to the shuttle taking off in the Florida swamps, several hundred ducks are incinerated during each launch. NASA employess often eat them following a successful take off.

  • Computers have advanced but rocket hardware has technologically gone BACKWARDS to pre 1959. We are all to blame for let the Shuttle continue after the 3rd flight. Solid rocket boosters are the least advanced most dangerous type of fuel you can use. In 1961 they could actually turn off the rocket if they wanted after it launched. In 1965 they could launch 9 times in one year safer and fare less than a single Shuttle. In 1968 with Saturn IB they could turnoff and restart the engines.

  • That noise is incredible!!!

  • 1.8 million hits….I claim at least 400,000 due to my 3 year old…...

  • He'll yea amazing trip 2fucking space !!!!

  • Mute this pause it and open a new tab and type this /watch?v=ivR_Hi2i_eQ . This is a new class of epic =D

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1 agreed

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1 Damn, even the timing was perfect =D

  • @Smonjirez i knoo.... how the fuck did that happen

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1 Hahahahahahaha :))))))))) Well done !

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1 That is pretty cool

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1 you sir have made this even more epic than it already is

  • @Sierra4Delta y thank u =3

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1

it worked it was pretty epic lol

  • @kodyvanthof1 Thank you :3

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1

I made an account to thumbs up this. your a winner

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1 that's epic man, thanks!!!! killer stuff...

  • @seoulkorea2008 Np =3

  • @MiLsImKiLlEr1 that was truly epic. Good job.

  • is this omega supreme!

  • everything after 1973 in NASA space programs are just toys and playing in orbit of the earth

i am excited what will NASA, Russia, japan and china do next in space

CMON GUYS GO TO THE FUCKING MARS ALREADY..........TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH PLAYING ARROUND THE EARTH

  • i fucking hate u

  • This is just beautiful

  • warum wurden sie nur eingestellt :-(

  • There is seriously nothing more beautiful imo than that seen at 0:47 and beyond

  • Yeah, just one of the problems with the space shuttles now is that your average iPhone has more processing power than the onboard computers.

  • @Badgaldinger Computers updated in the 90's are kept simple for a reason. The more lines of code will give more chances for a hiccup.

  • @aimhigh59 Actually its not simply the the simplicity of code. It is the chance of ionising radiation corrupting the memory causing erroneous data or instructions being processed resulting a software crash prior to a real crash.

  • @Badgaldinger Computers updated in the 90's are kept simple for a reason. The more lines of code will give more chances for a hiccup.

  • I wouldn't have the bearing to say "Houston, Discovery, roll program." It would could out more like a "Hoooooooooollllyyyyyyyyy shhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttt!"

  • great video!!!

  • 35 people are Russians

  • The space program of tomorrow is now the space program of yesterday. Sad. Beautiful video.

  • SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!

  • Hopefully they come back with two robots. If you guys know what I mean. You should.

  • dare one of you to light your cigarette under that lol

  • I wish america wasn't ruled by greedy Jews and politicians because they would keep doing such amazing things like this. Instead the greedy Jews have screwed up their economy to a point which it will never recover from.

  • @pioneer5555 George W. Bush was defintely not Jewish. If you were from the United States you would know that Judaism as a religion has nothing to do with our economic crisis; it's the capitalist fascists.

  • @pioneer5555 Your wish is halfway true already. The Christian right have a strangle hold on US politics that driving the US back to 13th Century. Michael Moore had point with Stupid White Men. William Lane Craig is a spiv, Kent Hovind is a fraud. Michael Behe is a liar. Thanks to the effort of WLC, KH, MB and others USA is now stupider and poorer left up to them will become a theocracy. If you want change it - reasonrally[dot]org

  • @EmmittBrownBTTF1 All that stuff is meaningless. It's the Jewish bankers who control the world. The whole world system runs on finance and interest. That is what is crippling the US and Europe. Hitler knew this.

  • PAM GRIER

    LAURA GEMSER

  • Nasa astronauts are in space right now and will have a continuing presence for the next ten years.

  • That's one hell of a way to poke outer space in the b-hole. Shouldn't you buy space a drink first?

  • @renegade1179 That is an extremely expensive dildo.

  • how does that tail survive the stress of supersonic speeds?

  • @widebody123 When they go supersonic, they pass max-q

  • @widebody123 Space-grade duct tape ($100 per roll)

  • This is the sound you hear when Chuck Norris gets a boner.

  • FAKE!

  • Wow. Respect for all the engineers at NASA. Aiming for New Frontiers........ So sad that US has put an end to it......

  • @Akobou132 Just because NASA isn't going to space anymore doesn't mean that space travel is stopping. There are private space programs popping up everywhere.

  • The death of the shuttle is a symbolic end to the American empire, and to the American dream :(

  • @GhostInTheShell29 american empire? hahahahahahahahhaha

  • @hristgol I don't really get the joke? England crumpled we in some ways achieved more dominance in some ways achieved less, but we did control more the half of the earth's surface economically, and politically to some extent.

  • @GhostInTheShell29 americans think that they are the new romans, except that they are less educated than an orangutan and are gonna end up as a third world country in 50 years the way things are going. the usa has absolutely no achievements that can be attributed to them because everything "they" have made was made by foreign scientists and scholars whom they got after WW2.

  • @hristgol... so why you laugh at my point i was saying this is the symbolic end to the Empire. You can't argue that it didn't used to be one. Though yes of course at the current rate of things it will go downhill relatively fast, and might not recover for a long time.

  • Amazing...

  • @posada432 You were a mistake

  • @mmilano626 It costs 450 million dollars to launch the space shuttle. To launch something like the Falcon 9, or the future Falcon Heavy would cost in the 40-50 million dollar area. It was a money pit, and they could have used something better and more efficient. I do agree however, that it was a great ship and has been great for US Patriotism and helped to expand the Human Species into space, and to expand the human knowledge of the universe itself.

  • @posada432 You are comparing apples to oranges. The shuttle was a truck for cargo, a passenger service ship, a laboratory, a satellite repair platform and a satellite recovery ship. Not to mention, the ISS would not exist without it. Falcon should be cheaper, its functions are limited.

  • fuck america

  • thanks Obama for ruining this.

  • @dreyrincon The decision to end the shuttle program was made almost seven years ago. Just fyi.

  • its such a shame that america spent 1.283 trillion dollars on the war on terror when it could have been spent for mission to mars or whatever

  • @youtuba 1973 Me too its so epic!

  • oyea this is incredible

  • get a rush everytime watchin those rockets jet up god damn

  • I get chills whenever I see a rocket launch.

About two years ago, I had the luck to watch Discovery take off from Cape Canaveral. It was an absolutely magical experience, and one that I will never forget. The noise is almost deafening even from ~2 miles away. You can feel the vibrations in the air going through your chest. Absolutely incredible

  • 0:45 need I say anything? :)

  • this is probably the best space launch i've seen yet

  • Very nice launch. I am planning to write a song on the space shuttle. Vic

  • Where is the part where it blows up?

  • @eightway1 dick

  • @EndeavourLaunch

    I hope they survived.

  • @eightway1 wrong rocket moron

  • @fucktardickis

    They all blew up right?

  • @fucktardickis it's not a rocket dumbass

  • @HuwGaas Actually, yes, it is a rocket. That's how space shuttles are brought into space. On rockets. Don't call anyone a dumbass when you clearly don't know anything.

  • @eightway1 It never blew up.

  • @thedarkone2134

Are you sure? nasa always screws up.

  • @eightway1 I'm sure and no they don't. Only 1 shuttle ever blew up and 1 was basicly torn apart by shear force.

All the other shuttles are now retired and without any major accidents.

  • @thedarkone2134

nasa didnt even put a man on the moon as they claim. Anyhoo, where their any survivors for this failure?

  • @eightway1 Jesus christ. Look at this video. Look at how fucking cool this shit is. Stop being so stubborn and look at how wonderful this is. How incredible. We put a man on the moon. That shit is amazing. It's fantastic and so cool and just research it without that horrible skepticism. Look up 'nasa methane engine' - it's like something out of a film, and it's real. It's incredible. Please, just open your mind - be childish about this, it's space travel, it's too cool not to be.

  • @gpjos

Nasa didnt put a man on the moon according to 3rd party scientist. Now, were there any survivors for this launch?

  • that's an expensive means to put a few people in space. surely we have anti-gravity technology all ready to role out by now. They've been reverse engineering for years.

  • Humans are smart enough to travel to space, but not smart enough to control their own numbers and avoid wiping out the global food supply in 39 years.

  • @EYEWEWPE take enough shots in the dark eventually you'll hit somethin

  • watch?v=fKJu6R43ShU&feature=channel_video_title

    2011 Atlantis start

  • Well I want to record my mark on some videos before the final ever launch of the shuttle program. What a historic and very emotional moment this is. Thankyou to all the great minds at NASA who have worked on or with the shuttles in any way over the past 30 years. Thankyou to the NASA family for giving the world something that it will never forget. The space shuttles are real American icons. God speed to the crew of Atlantis and I hope everybody enjoys this historic event.

    Heath

  • NASA is still gonna do space stuff... like another moon mission or mars but as far as a shuttle goes they don't have a budget and why compete with privatization. Virgin Galactic is years ahead and will have the $ to continue to advance. Of course the shuttle was the first stepping stone...

  • Are they going to the moon to change the bulb, because its been out over N.Ireland all week

  • never forget the space shuttle.

  • why did he

  • Why in the hell did Obama shut down the space program

  • this sickens the liberals...

  • "Dad, I'm in space." "I'm proud of you, son." "Dad, are you space?" "Yes; now we are a family again." Space. Space, space. Space trial. GUILTY! Of being in space. Go to space jail!

  • WWJD?

  • The dislikers believe space does not exist.

  • That was me on my way to planet x before this world burns in an ocean of flames thanks to the human race. If you believe in ufo and aliens, comment back.

  • @ray505ray if the human race wasnt like it is, there may be no shuttle giving off what you saddos call dirty pollution and you wouldnt know anything about space never mind thinking about aliens or ufo's

  • @ray505ray That rocket is based on an rocket do I have to tell you which type of rocket I mean...

  • @ray505ray By the way don't believe the retards who say if there were aliens god would tell us. Oh and yes I bet that there are more living things some where oh and UFO=FAKE Aliens=REAL

  • @MLGHaloKid do you have no basic understanding of what a 'UFO' really is?

  • @walkkdatshibby Unidentified flying object Done!

  • i bet thats a kick ass!!! ride

  • Awesome :-)

  • 8.5 minutes from launch to orbit. F-ing amazing.

  • oh really amazing scene for me

  • I can't believe we're retiring the shuttle with nothing to succeed it!! Sad times we live in!

  • @teknic111

Agreed. I cant climb onto the roof and watch the shuttle launch anymore ):

  • hello please get video from space sun and star thankyou and please get this video to download

  • SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE!

  • Ugh stupid people! I'm tired of people giving shit to America if it wasn't for America we wouldn't be here! Look back in History! From 1776 the world changed because of America ..oh but foreigners get in trouble, they come to us for help, and if they're not in trouble they hate us! Ahh fuckers!

  • I'm sad that July is the last launch of the Space Shuttle Program. This has been a great thirty years for discovery and knowledge, and I'm sure another thirty could yield even more. Thanks for all the good times, NASA! ^_^

  • 35 people don't know F=ma

  • Scientist had nothing to do with building or maintaining the shuttle. U.S. Engineers designed it and built it with U.S. hardware made in the U.S. You must be a U.S. citizen to work for Nasa. The shuttle was built by Americans, designed by Americans and maintained by Americans. All U.S. citizens.

  • At 1:18

It sounded like he said that Dyscovery was racist towards space.

  • They have money for shuttles and war, but can't feed the poor.

  • @rcpro17 I agree with you on the war part. But science is something that needs funding.

  • Nothing stands in the way of human progress! I personally cannot wait to see what NASA replaces the shuttles with or the future of space travel itself; it is quite astonishing what we can do these days, not even the planet itself can keep us confined. Wish the UK had a space programme :(.

  • @AdamJamesWalker86 "Nothing stands in the way of human progress!", yes there is one thing that stands in the way of human progress, it's called religion. Luckily people are getting less and less stupid these days.

  • Nice video

  • I had a dream last night of shuttle breaking up and exploding into smoke.
