I'm very sorry about your lost, I can't imagine how did you feel
look.. I'm mexican, and as I was reading all what happen to Nolan I felt sick, It's true that we can have irresponsable people but it's the same in the whoole world, you're in all your right to be as much angry as you want, but still.. this doesn't make Cancun or Riviera Maya a dangerous place to visit, there are millions and millions of tourists in Mexico every year(30mln) and fortunately this is something very strange to happen
Yes , we are a corrput country, but we are changing . We are fighting the drug cartels and cleaning up local police dpts. This is a beautiful country and accidents can happen, just as in any other part of the world.
I am sincerely very sorry for your loss. However, bad things happen in many parts of the world. It is true that safety standards are often not the same as in the U.S. One should always keep this in mind while there (as do the locals). However, the percentage of american tourists who die in Mexico is miniscule. The odds of an innocent tourist getting killed is something like .000002%. I am truly sorry your loved one was in that minority.
When I was in the pool in Mexico, they told not to get in the water, if I had eaten a sandwich or any type of food because you can suffer from not moving because you get "Calambres" I don't know what "Calambres" mean in English?, Every one should know this before getting inside any pool. Every one should wait at least 10 or 5 minutes before getting in the water. In my case I almost drown in a hotel pool in the USA. I don't remember drowning, but I was drowning, I didn't feel nothing.
Many sad events. These happen in the USA as well as any other place in the world where there are people. Its sad, but we need to take personal responsibility. falling off balconies? How and why? We love mexico for what it is and come here because there is still some sense of freedom, not as over regulated as north of the border. I feel the magic with mexico is the fact that if i trip fall and or? i have to take the responsibility and not call the first personal injury lawyer that comes up
It s a shame, so sad, I am a Mexican citizen and looking at this makes me feel so bad, our terrible system of justice, corruption, nasty government makes our beautiful country look like trash, hurts, but the truth is the truth.
Makes me Want to say. Grab your GAK piece when you go on vacation in another place besides the US or CANADA. I've been around the globe and back. And yes ive been to the slums of ROC city, SA, and the WEST BANK, and about 11 3rd "world" countries you cant say in the english that you speak.... and Nobody has ever rolled me up because..... I ACT LIKE THE PEOPLE. The little kids I feel bad for really I do. But the people pass 18 and beyond. Well isnt that why you went down to MEX E Co.
Shocking video....Makes you just want to say God Bless America....Safest and best play to live and play - IN THE WORLD!... Not just being trying to as patriotic as I am but just the truth!
Unfortunate that these people were murdered we just cant go to mexico stay in the U.S. where trained caring professionals are there to assist you and the danger factor is way lower and equipment is beyond nominal where your safety is number 1 priority
Horrible im so sorry! But how is it mexicos fault he drowned - did they murder him or did they just not have a lifeguard? This is the problem - in mexico its very different and apathetic and people dont care too much --- its very different --- and dangerous for this and other reasons!
@pelonbombero Its the fact that the death was PREVENTABLE. Had the drowning happened in america, do you think the EMT's would let him lay by the pool for HOURS demanding money before they would do anything? Lie about procedures they havent done so they could bill more money to the victims family? HELL NO! They would give cpr and get oxygen to the drowning victim asap and transport them to the hospital, whether that person or their family has the ability to pay or not.
@FabulousTerrah Hmmmmm funny how one just assumes that is the cause for Nolan to slip under the water. How would you explain the total lace of medical respsonse. Does that happen everywhere in the world? Get a life and an education while you're at it.
most of the deaths in Mexico occur because of drug cartels. Mexican citizen and tourists are dying just because someone in the US wants to get high... That is the real source of the problem.
So many people die falling from balconies because in Mexico, the balcony railing heights are far below the U.S. standard. Tourists lean back, and the center of gravity takes over. Very sad, very tragic and very unfortunate that our travel industry chooses to not tell us about this!
I know how bad Mexico is, I went there for grad. But i'm kinda confused. How the fuck do so many people fall from balconys? Whats the difference between our balconys and theres.
My Friend was stopped, By the Police and Was extorted all his Money,or would go to JAIL!!...Never Leave your Resort,,if you do don't leave by yourself! You see the Police HIDE!!!!!
Cancun is a fun place to party but being there so many times myself there are many safety risks especially at Oasis Cancun. The local authorities try to cover up any incidents to protect the tourism industry.
Pablo32123 you're going to have to do better than that. The 32% statistic is far from "meaningless". Between 1/1/07 and 6/30/09, 18 U.S. citizens died in Canada from a non-natural cause. During that same time period 582 U.S. citizens died in MEXICO from a non-natural cause. The fact remains....Mexico is a DANGEROUS country to travel to period! A little bit of education by would be travelers will convince them...stay out of Mexico. Spend your hard earned dollars somewhere safe.
They fail to mention what the percentage of americans that go outside the country go to mexico. If 32% go to mexico and 32% of deaths occur in mexico then mexico is on par with anywhere in the world. It's a meaningless statistic, lies, damned lies, and statistics.
the report on the website mentions he was breathing when taken out of the pool. The symptoms read like alcohol poisoning not drowning. Granted, maybe he could have been saved with a first world health system, but this is mexico.
hey adi0o08 it dont matter if u go to school in mexico and study ur hardest and not use drugs or alcohol i know someone who is a dentist and still has to teach little kids at schools to get by living with their mom still at 34....but i respect u for fulfilling ur goals and dreams i wish u tha best of luck ill pray for u to do your best in life...peace
im mexican..i know that we have alot of problems..but problems are all over the world, my ciuntry have a lot of good people,,,im just a mexican girl that study a lot, i have to go to tijuana to study everyfucking day, i work, i want learn many thinghs, i dont use drugs, i dont drink alcohol ...dont talk about my country in a racist way or like "mexicaphobia"
ok most of yall will hate me but think bout it most of the americans hate illegal aliens nd talk down to mexicans nd u think they wont take that to the heart....truth is mexico is one of the worst countrys to go to nd they kill for the fun of it trust me i know those kids r lucky there are still 3 times more missing from the U.S. that went to mexico to party
We who live in North America know too well the violence & crime committed here by Mexicans & other Central Americans. It comes as no suprise when we hear about sensless diregard for human life south of that border.
so sad for Nolan and really it isnt the country Mexico, sure some of those cops are corrupt there but u have that here in L.A. and other cities in the U.S. and even in the government, we all know THAT! but it is very sad for all the families who lost a loved one, and the first thing is they are going to put the country down, i probably would to, if it happen to me, but they do need to repair those balconies, and should know CPR
my girlfriend is going to cancun for a grad trip and i am posotively terrified. i have known about the dangers of mexico (especially the area around cancun) for a long time but now it seems so much more intense now that its my loved one who is putting her life at risk and with the greatly increased crime rate im even more worried. she doesnt seem to take any of my warnings to heart. everyone should know the dangers of the shit hole that is mexico! i hope to god i dont lose my baby.
I sympathize with anyone who has lost a friend, or family member by any means, but statistically -- the numbers are greater for those vacationers, of any nationality, who have gone to Mexico without incident and had a great vacation. Concerning the problem with emergency and medical attention, I will say this though -- Mexico has Socialized Medicine. Would you like to have that in the US?
Mexicans are racist, period. Being an American in Mexico and finding oneself in critical need of life-saving measures is meaningless to a Mexican, since it is viewed as a deserved condition to be for being from the "other side." Yet when the shoe is on the other foot, that is when Mexicans are in the US, they want all the accomodations that they refer to as" 'civil rights."
i don't justify what goes on in Mexico its horrible, but if you feel that Mexicans are racist you also have to realize that as an "Anglo" you have contributed for most to them feeling this way, aren't Anglo s the first ones to point out a brown person as a criminal , an illegal or a thief? is that being racist? what happened to these people is sad and wrong... isn't it wrong also for the Hispanics to die just cause to you "we don't belong here?"
I'm really sorry for the losses, but let's not blame it all on México. Indeed, much better security measurements are needed, but some of these deaths were caused by normal accidents and due to excess drinking and lack of common sense. Violence exists, but there are 2000 cities in México, and only 5 (in the north) have considerable security problems. My condolences to the families of the victims, but this looks like a campaign to discredit México, more than a genuine remembrance of the victims

Wow sad story but there are dangers everywhere you vacation. I live in Mexico and yes there are dangers, but then when i went on vacation in Chicago I got mugged. I made a mistake and did something i shouldnt went where i shouldnt of. why do you think drug cartel members kill cops all the time
even the federal police hates the local police
mexican authorities convict innocent people of crimes they know they cannot solve
that is the main reason why drug traffickers are gloryfied over here
because they give money to the poor, help the needy, and protect citizens from being taken advantage by the goverment
tha is the reason why narcos are loved here
