Tupac was the most influential, I'll give him that cause he's lead tons of young black men, women to want to be a fucking idiot thug. Nas is far more intellectual, thought provoking, as is Ice Cube, as was Biggie and even Jay Z. I wish people would actually listen to the lyrics of the songs that Pac wrote, the majority of it was repetitive, talking about his enemies and Hennessy and he had maybe 5 to 6 songs that were thought provoking..

Pac was fucking Rob Base with a message..Basic ass lyrics.. nas destroys his lyrical flow. A nas lyric NO ARTIST could fuck with and is true poetry was in youre da man.. "was suicidal..high smoking so much lye.. I seen a dead bird flying threw a broken sky..wish I could flap wings and fly away.." Pac would just say "I wanted to kill myself" nas is far more a creative writer than ANY artist in the history of Hip Hop. A true street poet.

word. just to put my two cents into the Pac/Nas discussion. Nas is definitely more talented, as BFranklin100 said, but Pac is the most influential ever. the passion he poured into each track - maybe not the greatest or most talented lyricists/rapper, but he was a poet. he spoke from the heart and just went at it. Nas is smoother and slicker, better with words, flow and imagery. but no one will ever be as raw or as much of a beast as Pac.

In my opinion..Pac is the greatest rapper..but Nas is the most talented..To me a rapper isn't defined by lyricisim, flow, or mainstream success alone..a rappers ability to influence listeners should also be considered..and Pac did that like no other
