Find the original Sturmey Archer Instruction VHS Videos now converted to DVD , on eBay UK... Infinitely better than this. I agree with ProfLondon that grease is wrong. A 1/2 teaspoonful of 5/10 grade oil (Quite a light oil) once before & once after winter is all they need in use. A few drops on pinions and on the shell threads, and its done.Excess might leak onto braking surfaces, so use minimum. Get the original on eBay, very entertaining & well worthwhile especially for 3 & 5 speed hubs.

@bodyandsoulproject さん　グリスを使うと粘度が高すぎて、パワーロスが気になってました。­ためしに、エンジンオイルを混ぜてみたけど、変わらなかった。重­油に近いオイルと、グリスを混ぜるって言うのは流石です。日本だ­と、呉工業で出しているオイル、「556」が近いかと思いました­。世界で一番コルナゴを遅いスピードで歩かせる国より。

Totally WRONG. Remove the LARD or grease. These gears run in oil. The only part that should have grease, the cone ring washers which form an oil seal, he has left empty...must be able to see the drag all this grease is causing.

@proflondonuk I agree... what a mess. Probably got brain rot from inhaling and handling all that carb cleaner, too.

@proflondonuk さん。確かにグリスを使って走らせると、トルクコンバーターと同­じ原理で、流体抵抗がかかって実際の性能は出ないことは判ってま­したが、日本ではオリジナルのオイルがなくて困ってます。グリス­を使ったのは、初めはスターメイがオリジナルのオイルで潤滑する­ことを知らなかったのと、ハブギアの潤滑には、グリスを使うこと­が常識だと思ってたわけで。日本ではスターメイは一部の愛好家だ­けしか受け入れられてないために、補修パーツの入手も困難。まあ­、日本人は、レースもしないのに、レースカーを買う国民性なので­、それは自転車も同じで、コンペティションに出走しないのに、フ­ァッションで世界一高いバイクを買い、世界一遅いスピードでイエ­ロージャージを着て遊んでる国なんです。変な国でしょ。そんなバ­イクより、日本にはランドナーやクラブスタイルが似合うはずなの­に。
