@dragos240 But Mac uses Linux based security software, It's almost guarenteed not to crash. and It hasn't since it started using Linux software to prevent crashes.
I really want to recreate the one that starts at 0:11but I'm not sure which instrument is used in the beginning cause I really want to recreate it for MIDI cards.
Not a bad pc. But I'm No Mac fanboy. And I would HOPE it crashes less than a windows pc considering the ridiculous price they have. On top of that some of them onlycome with a 90 day warranty . So IF IT DOES BREAK IT BROKE. Or you could spend a couple thousand on repairs.
I wish my Macintosh made a sound when it crash. All I get is my lost files that I was working on in the background and the Kernel Panic. Oh well, I've only gotten it twice and that was due to my shitty charger. xD
I've had a Macintosh 7200/90 for about 10 years (obviously, I haven't used it in ages), but I just can't remember any of these. Guess it never crashed o.O
True, also, macs run on specialized hardware, windows has more of a variety, meaning they use more generic drivers. Whereas macs are built the same, so they have specific drivers built especially for the machine. This is why they don't crash as often, and as you said before, there are less programs for mac than there are for windows, so less risk. I hate when people brag about the "fact" that macs can't get viruses. Know your machine, use common sense, and whatever you use. You should be safe.
Yea I had the Sad Mac pop up once when my Classic's HD was on it's way out when I was about 6-7.
After seeing and hearing it I was terrified of it for months and whenever turning it on would quickly leave the room and hope that it wouldn't Sad Mac.
This scared me a LOT! I even had a bad nightmare of turning on my computer one day and receiving the Sad Mac and the sound at 0:11. :-( This is the reason I'm a PC!
It's because Mac doesn't usually allow for customization of your system.
They also have an inferior compatibility with other programs.
But it is those drawbacks that make it seem like Macs are more stable.
Windows accepts a lot of things, but it's lenient to the point a lot of things can screw up, because of something you did wrong, or something the program did wrong.
I agree, Macs and Windows are the same.
Macs don't crash as much because it doesn't allow third party programs.
That's also a contributing factor. Also, macs are designed to use apple hardware almost exclusively, whereas windows and other OSes support more hardware. That's another reason for stabability, also macs are unix like which is a bit more reliable than DOS (or a form of it), which supports windows. But I stick by my comment, all computers crash, regardless of their OS or hardware.
Then again, if you set up a small calculator with logic gates, I can't see that crashing.
@travelsonic Since the OS and hardware is all coming from the same organization, you can safely pretend that it will be safer to operate, or at least certify that there won't be compatibility issues between the parts in the machine. The major problem related to this is the simple fact that it prevents concurrence for parts within a mac computer and Apple can dictate their own prices when it is clear that a custom pc with similar tech specs costs 25-50% less than the Apple one. Good != expensive
It's partially that: Supply and Demand. But windows has the uncanny ability to crash without having any viruses at all. Let me give you an example:
My windows vista would blue screen when it had a USB device inserted into it at shutdown. So unless all USB devices were removed, it would crash consistently.
Fanboy? Also does rarely mean every time you leave a USB stick inside the computer? Here's the reality, windows doesn't crash rarely, it depends on a lot of factors. Sometimes it's viruses, sometimes it's bad drivers, sometimes it's faulty programming, but because there are so many things that can potentially cause a crash, it's never the same for every person who uses windows, you could have a windows that hasn't crashed in 10 years. Fact: On AVERAGE windows crashes more.
@dragos240 No your just a Macboy you must accept and always think that mac is better than any other platform out their you know your mac has crash within the last 2 years
A macboy who uses linux and who dislikes mac? Facts are facts coolboy, and statistics are facts. Windows is known for it's crashes. Do macs crash? Of course they do. However, unlike most operating systems, the OSX operating system was designed for a certain line of computers, windows was designed for nearly any computer, so it's bound to have bugs based on that.
