League of Legends is freeware, all items can be bought with points in game (Exception being a few cosmetic champ skins), is pretty much playable on any computer with it's low requirements and is gorgeous with it's character and map art.

Pretty cool game IMO. Getting past the fact it's the most unstable and crash happy game i've played (behind borderlands), it's got decent balance in character classes, good graphics, and overall fun gameplay, each round feeling like a fast paced PvP based mini-rpg.

I've never played these League of Legends or Heroes of Newerth games so i'm not sure how they compare. This is coming from someone who mostly plays WoW, MW2, TF2, and some various other rpgs/fps's

Lol is completely free unless you pay for riot points or buy that box deal to unlock all champs at start and Hon you must buy it to play i prefer Lol myself tbh but i havent tried on Hon yet so :D

And the developers are awesome and use ALL their time for this game, i dont mind playing 30 dollars if they keep up the good work. And the grapics in LoL are so awful:( looks like a kidsgame

@VannErGodt That's true, but some people such as myself still prefer LoL due to its advances in gameplay. For example, there is tall-grass which stealths any unit inside from anything outside; it provides for ganks and escapes. The item system is a lot more intricate, as there are many stats to raise, such as Damage, Ability Power, Attack Speed, Critical Chance, Dodge Chance, Armor, Magic Resistance, Movement Speed, Life Steal, and Spell Vamp. The graphics aren't great, but the gameplay wins imo

The HoN community is what makes new players stop. People are so aggresive and cocky. They never let new players try the game. Even in the so called "noob" games, you`ll get flamed so hard. HoN is atm the best DotA-inspired game ... its most balanced and it really has the best gameplay and features. LoL is a nice replica too but i think that HoN is just as good as LoL but keep in mind that its only closed beta so when it comes out officially it should be the best.

Most inovative is this one, Demogod but i think that it cant compare whit HoN or LoL in matters of polished gameplay.

League of Legends and HoN. Both are relatively similar, but LoL, takes it home for me. I love the Rune/Mastery system, and how it keep track of your stats. The graphics on high take a really good computer though. :D

if you haven't tried dota, fuck HoN, go straight for league of legends. HoN is basically dota, no evolution, nothing new, graphics are mediocre and everything looks crap, and the playerbase consists of unbelievably rude ex-dota players with anger issues. Horrible community. The learning curve is ridiculous too. it expects you to be an ex dota player.

That's not true at all. League of legends is boring compared to heroes of newerth. Heroes of newerth improves on dota's mechanics and is much smoother.

I agree that the learning curve is huge. Even as an ex-dota player, I found it tough to manage the controls. However, patches have improved that and added hotkeys that have made gameplay much better.
