Goku fighting barefoot, no undershirt and bracelets means he's where he was at fighting Raditz (if we're talking DBZ). Power level of 330-600 (Goku/Kakarot) vs power level of 7,500-20,000+ (Bardock). If Bardock used artificial moonlight, multiply that by 10! This is like Baki going against Yujiro at the beginning of the anime (I haven't read the manga). Bardock would OWN his son and like Yujiro, show him that "the word 'Father' truly means 'Master'!" I know its just a game though.

But to me, Goku being labeled as "Early Goku" and the fact that he's fighting without shoes, an undershirt, and wrist bracelets means that this is before he trained with King Kai. King Kai gave him new clothes that weren't weighted clothing (like Goku wore prior to this). At that time, I think Goku would at least match his father in power. After gaining super saiyen, I'd always see Goku fighting with shoes on. Against SSJ1 Goku, Bardock definitely loses.

@TheFalconlazer I agree, b/c I think even when Goku first confronted Freiza (while Vegeta was dying), he was at least at 800,000+ and I'm using a conservative estimate. I've started seeing things recently about how Goku's base form (post first super saiyen transformation) would be well into the millions. He wouldn't need to go Super Saiyen or Kaioken against Bardock's strongest level. I recently saw something suggesting Bardock's in the 40,000s at his strongest (moments before he dies).

I think Bardock's strength is overestimated...he was slightly weaker than King Vegeta...which probably makes him somewhere in between Nappa and Vegeta when they got to Earth...

Stronger than Early Goku but nowhere near Mid Goku's strenght (not even in normal state).

Um, no, Bardock was said to be 10,000 in the Daizenshuu, and the people that made the Daizenshuu are the same people that made the Bardock special (Toei Animation).

Not to mention Goku's power level reaches 24,000 when using Kaioken x3, so even if Bardock was at 19,000, which he isn't, he would still lose against Saiyan Saga Goku.

In "the movie" that you're referring to; the ssj form was in it's early stages of development. The writers were undecided on how a super saiyan should look & act. Notice in the film Goku seems to lose all rationality while in this early form. Also, his pupils disappear & his hair remains black, the only other destinctive ssj characteristics that were kept for the final design were the yellow aura, the state of tension and the increased power.
