WOW! This is incredible and I'm so glad I found this in a search for this song! I noticed you've been asked by someone else as well, but I like to be thorough so: Would it be okay if I used this song in one of my videos (as long as I credit you)? I have a one year anniversary video coming up and this would be perfect for the end credits! lol
It is more or less on the scetchboard right now, but hopefully it will be a "games then and now" themed show and this song would be used in the "music" section.
you know, when i played this game back in the days, i never quite understood why a guy would go through so much hardship just to have "picnics in the lollipop forest" with the princess
@Edward19Dean It's available for download at my site, deathinmusic [dot] tk (youtube doesn't allow links for some reason... the link is on my channel page though).
this is freaking unbelievable - how did you get all the notes, harmonies, etc? Did you just listen to it over and over? or is there a way to somehow "extract" the sequence of notes from each channel of the NES machine using some MIDI trick or something...?
Heh, I'm sure you could get pretty close just by listening to the whole thing, but that would be needlessly difficult.
You can extract the individual channels (square1, square2, triangle and noise) by playing the game with an emulator on PC. Emulators allow you to choose which of the four audio channels are on and which are off.
holy crap, if I had one of those I'd never leave the house *lol* Where can I get one of these emulators and how much do they cost? I've never even heard of such a thing - I learned all my NES piano arrangements the "needlessly difficult" way *lol* just listening to 'em over and over....so of course some of the notes aren't quite right or missing
The emulators are all over the internet, just do a google search for "nes emulator". As far as I know they're all free, at least the ones I've used. The games (or "roms") are quite available as well, but I'm not sure about their legality... I think as long as you own the actual cartridge of a game, you're allowed to download a rom of it.
You can actually download the music without the whole game with so called .nsf files. There is a plug-in for winamp to play those files or you can use a separate player.
Would you like to have a picnic in the lollipop forest with me? ;)

Been a fan of the movie since I was six. Found out about the game just now.... I'm 24.
Bad marketing! I would've totally begged Mum for the Nintendo! (Still would have kept my Genesis, though.)

Is it okay if I might add this song in my show? I will have you in the credits.

That's epic.
And to make things THAT much better - the princess has my name - ish.
My name is Kamilla.
A lot of people write it Camilla.
And sometimes its written and pronounced Camille.
That makes me feel special :)

Thanks. It's very faithful to the real thing, however, so the credit goes to the composer of the theme.
