You are blind. America is not on the left. The only reason Obama won is because McCain was jammed down our throats and when it came time to vote between Obama and John McCain most republicans decided they wouldn't vote for who the GOP picked for them. There is no way Obama would have won against Fred Thompson or Romney. The reason McCain lost is because he leaned too far to the left. America is center right if anything. Romney or Thompson would have destroyed Obama.

By "jammed down our throats" meaning the media butchered Romney for being mormon and completely ignored the fact that he is an economic genius, and most republicans didn't even know Fred Thompson was running. In fact by the time I could vote in the primary election Thompson wasn't even on the ballot! How am I supposed to vote for somebody that isn't on my ballot? The GOP picked McCain and McCain didn't have a chance. Romney or Thomson would have killed Obama in the General election.

The media can't be a scapegoat for everything. There were plenty of primary debates, and there were also caucuses, where supposedly media coverage doesn't count as much. Plus, McCain ran out of money on the middle of the primary.

Those candidates made mistakes. Thompson entered way too late on the race, and McCain bested Romney in some debates.

Whatever you think of McCain,he is a charismatic guy. I think Romney would stand a much better chance if the economic crisis kicked in a bit sooner...

Romney was booted by the GOP because of his religion. He dominated McCain in every debate, he was more solid than McCain but the only time you heard Romney's name outside of a debate was when they were blasting his religion. I agree the media wasn't all to blame, but you have to admit they play a huge role especially in the primaries. The bottom line is that the country isn't leaning left like the video claimed, that is why McCain lost, he leans too far to the left for conservative votes.

Obama's opinion changes with the polls, the guy can't talk without a telepromter, and he tries things that have been proven to fail. Romney actually turned his state's economy around while he was in office, all Obama did while in the senate was vote present. Romney or Thompson would have killed it in the general.
